I came in at four when they close at four and they let me shop a bit which was nice. The place was clean but did have a bit of an odor- but what pet place wouldn't? The employees were helpful and friendly- they came right up and pet my puppy. They had two cats there and allowed me to bring my dog that I was carrying. They have a wide selection of toys, collars, and all natural pet food. They had a cute bag to carry your pet in. It was pricey but it was cute so of course I got it. I wanted a lot of items to train my puppy such as mats, and I recall asking for three things that they didn't have. It's pretty much a place for treats and toys- these were the words of the employee and this is accurate. They do have a few extra selections such as an anxiety vest or winter booties but not a wide selection of size or colors. I tried to chat with the employee to gain some training suggestions but she didn't offer me any which was surprising because they advertised a puppy training class on a piece of paper at the register. Oh well- I should be thankful they didn't push or pressure anything. They did let me try putting my dog on the carrying bag which was nice. However playing devils advocate I couldn't help but wonder if they would have cleaned it for the next person had I not purchased it. read more

I got my puppy's nails' cut here during their special on Thursday, and when I brought him home his whole paw was drenched in blood. They clipped his nails too far back and barely filed them down. It's not worth saving the extra $2-3... I had to take him to Petco a couple of days later because it was so bad. read more

I only went there for a nail trim a few times and the care my dog got was great. My only issue is one of the groomers there who brought out my dog was rude to me on two different occasions. Maybe she was having a bad day(s). I still recommend it for a nail trim. read more

I brought my 2 dogs in for nail trims on a Tuesday and it was only 6 dollars per dog! Great price considering it would have cost me a total of $34 at my vet's office for the same thing. I had never needed a groomer before, and picked The Barking Lot based on a referral and their overall positive reviews, and I definitely made the right choice. My golden mix was getting pretty mangy, and after her grooming appointment she looks great and her coat is so soft and shiny! $6 walk-in nail trims on Tuesday and Thursday, such a great deal! They always take care of us right away and the groomers are great. One of my dogs is a super scaredy cat, and they are able to handle him with ease. Highly recommend! read more

This place is good for grooming, dog toys or training. However their customer service is not that great. I order a specific type of dog food that they usually carry, this time when they got my order they lost it due to a system malfunction. They called me askimg what type of food I ordered and I could not recall, so I told them that I will email them the stuff i ordered. When I emailed them, I didn't get an awnser back for days, so I gave them a call they knew nothing about the problem and told them what food I ordered however they did not have it in stock. I was told that the boss will call the next day. I have not heard from thei boss once today. Maybe time to find a different place to buy food. read more

I highly recommend The Barking Lot! I started going there for the $6.00 nail clips they have every Tuesday! I take my dog--and usually my daughter's dog, too--every two weeks for a nail clip. I appreciate that they make this service so affordable. The vet used to charge me $19.00 for a nail clip! Now I get to keep my dog's nails nice and short! BUT the BEST part of The Barking Lot is the PEOPLE! Without exception, EVERY EMPLOYEE there will "ooh and ahh" over your pet just like you do! They are friendly, affordable, and most important--kind to your pet! read more

I have been taking my rescue dog Bob to Megan since the day she opened The Barking Lot. Bob is very much a whimp and afraid of water, loud noises or anything out of the norm. Finding a groomer that could and would work with all his issues was no easy task. Megan and her team do everything possible to make Bob's visit enjoyable as possible. He doesn't even shake anymore when we walk in. They are the best and truly care about all the pets they groom. read more

My first two experiences were both 5's. However, our third trip to the Barking lot resulted in my dog being injured. When I went to pick her up I received mixed stories (maybe it was the people washing the dog, etc.). My dog couldn't move her back legs, she was in so much pain. I ended up having to bring her to the ER Vet, spent hundreds of dollars there, and lots of medications to help her with the pain. We spent 4 hours at the vet that night. Someone from the Barking Lot called a couple of days later to check in on her. After asking more questions to figure out what happened she said she knows it happened in the last 15 (after she called me to pick her up) and she was "trying to be honest with me now." However still didn't know what happened to her to cause such an injury and pain. They never once offered to reimburse me for the hair cut or any of the medical bills. That person who called me to follow-up said they were going to call again to follow-up and see how my dog was doing. Of course, I never heard back from them. What a terrible disappointment with their services. Please be careful bringing your pets here especially if they are small. The only reason I gave them a 2 is because my first two experiences were good. This was the first time this particular groomer worked on my dog. I understand things happen but to take no ownership, charge me for a grooming where my dog was injured and not help to pay for any medical bills is unacceptable. I would have given them a 5 if they owned up to anything or if the owner apologized and help pay or reimburse me for anything. I am now afraid to bring my dog anywhere to get groomed. read more

I do not have enough wonderful things to say about The Barking Lot!! I am pleased every time I bring my golden in for a grooming. The staff is friendly and helpful. The owner, Megan Rozell, is so kind and knowledgable about each particular breed. She would bend over backwards to ensure that your dog has the best possible grooming experience while in her care.
