I was looking foward to the interview at Mr. Scott's until I went in for the interview. I don't know how they operate in the customer service side but as plain human beings they are very unpleasant and a little aggressive. I'm currently enrolling into college and I seen their indeed page, they were looking for part time workers and they offered flexible scheduling. They ridiculed me for applying for the job when I am going to go to school full time. They said they are looking for day shift workers. On the indeed job description it says : Day shift, night shift, weekends, and holidays. It also say flexible schedule. Eventually they told me I'm not a good fit. I understood it and asked for my application back ( I wrote my social security number on there). He then aggressively shred up the application and shoved it into my hand. One of my dogs is still showing discomfort three days after being groomed. Within hours of picking my dog up, she wasn't herself. Then noticed the area at the base of her tail was inflamed. The nights were bad. In the wee hours of the morning my dog hovered around my pillow shaking with constant panting. Neither of us got much sleep. I don't know what the groomer did, but it wasn't good for my dog's usual happy personality. Also, failed to honor a simple request regarding her cut. May not go back. read more

This place was an hour drive from Schaumburg - but gotta tell you, well worth it. These people actually care. Most groomers are in and out for a business buck. My Lab-doodle was matted. I explained that to them and explained we like the long hair but realize we were not doing the dog justice. The staff explained to us the difficulties that come with matted dogs and more care should be given at home and showed us how. This place was awesome. Owners stated give us three hours we will text you. Found a couple of cool bars they recommended and they texted me to come pick up dog. Picked up my guy, loved his new look and will follow the instructions they provided for care with his hair. I cannot tell you enough how much you've helped my dog and us as new owners. For the second appointment we had a conflict with time. I called to see if we can bring our dog in 15 minutes earlier. I had had a horrible experience here and will NEVER go back! They told me 4 hours for my three dogs to get groomed, I said oh perfect I have to grab my husband from the airport and we'll be back and available for pickup within 2 hours. They said okay perfect. 45 minutes later I get a call that my dogs are ready! I explain that I can be there in about 60-80 minutes as I was quoted 4 hours! They said that if I did not pickup my dogs ASAP I would be abandoning them! I literally was there within the hour of receiving the call and the wife went on to argue with me And give a horrible attitude! I explained that we have been customers for OVER 10 years and we were never treated so badly before. I paid, tipped them and explained that I would NEVER cone back if my life depended on it. They tried to give me a gift certificate for half of what I paid by leaving it on my door. No thanks! This was a couple years back and I have kept my word. Mr Scott was grooming my dog yes he was matted but he called me and screamed at me that matting was negligent and hung up on me. Went to go get the dog which was not ready and the wife comes to the car and verbally harasses us. I did not know why they were so upset from a matted dog. They called the police and then gave me my dog. I saw that he had an allergic reaction to a topical medicine and needed medical attention. I brought my Pomeranian here for the first time and was very impressed. He was matted and needed a bath, haircut and nail trim badly. They got him in quickly and were very friendly. Mr Scott's Dog Spa is the ONLY place I will ever take our dog to be groomed. They are the KINDEST most gentle people and they love our dog as much as we do. We rescued our dog when she was 6 years old from a local shelter, when we got her she was timid, and so overgrown she couldn't see. A neighbor of ours recommended Mr Scott's to us as a groomer and the difference was unbelievable, it's been two years now of us taking Bella for grooming every 4-6 weeks and they know us by name they remember Bella's birthday and my husband and I's wedding anniversary! Everyone should take their dogs here simply because they care. Hershey, my Grandmother's dog, tends to suffer from extreme anxiety when getting a haircut. It's not a pleasant experience for him, but at Mr. Scott's they make it easier for him to handle. When your dog gets a haircut at Mr. Scott's they don't just get a haircut. They get love, attention and care, making them feel right at home. I've brought my dog here twice. They've done a great job both times. My dog has collie and terrier mix. She has a soft under coat with topcoat that grows kind of long and wavy. She was given a "puppy cut" 2nd time around. It's basically a trim with the clippers. I've had problems at another place where she's been nicked with clippers in several areas . Not at mr scotts. Also have had problems where groomers want to cut her the breed they think she might be . They place your dog in a crate while waiting to be groomed or picked up Everything is in full view, all doors are open in reception area to waiting room with crates, the wash room etc My dog is still soft and smells beautiful days later. I brought one of my babies here last month. My Chanel was a little matted. This young lady name Brittany greeted me in this fine and very clean establishment. Brittany looked and examined my puppy on what kind of haircut is needed for Chanel. Brittany said she needs to give her a puppy cut, shave but still with hair. I was nervous in seeing the result when I pick up Chanel. I am so happy about the results. My Chanel looks expensive and well pampered by this fabulous young lady. Shout out to BRITTANY!!! LOVE this place! Both of my dogs (Cavalier King Charles Spaniels) were cut exactly as I requested. They actually did the best standard cut on my Bohdi that I have ever had done (and we have tried many groomers). My Bosli has a difficult coat and we buzzed him down....he is so darn cute right now! Thank God for Mr. Scott's. My dogs were in dire need of a bath and cut because of Covid. I called and the wonderful gentleman in the phone scheduled me as soon as possible. When I got there they went over what I wanted and made sure that I understood. The dogs looked beautiful when I picked them up. The way they treat their customers is beyond anything I've experienced anywhere else. They take the time to listen to you and explain if something is not in the best interest of the dog. My 13 year old Bearded Collie and Papillon look beautiful when I have them groomed at Mr. Scott's. They are gentle with my elderly dogs and they look like they are ready for the Westminster Dog Show when I pick them up. Well, unfortunately this was a first and last visit. I was excited to be able to get my dog in for a bath and nail trim so quickly, but I should have trusted my gut after reading the negative reviews, but I assumed that they were just sour grapes. Nope! The woman who checked us in was much more interested in the man who had come in just before me to pick up his dog and she was quite distracted while I was trying to give her instructions for mine. She said "Shampoo and conditioner and a nail trim, right?" I said "No conditioner. No extras." She said "It's not extra. We always do that." I said "No, I don't want conditioner. We just use a hypo shampoo, nothing scented, and no bandanna." She asked if I wanted a nail trim and I answered "Yes, and please be sure to get her dewclaws." I asked how long it would be and she said "It's usually 2 1/2 to 3 hours." I had arranged to go visit a friend, figuring I would have about an hour to visit. I received a phone call from the groomer less than 1 1/2 hours after I dropped my dog off and she said she'd be ready in five minutes. I told her I had an appointment in a few minutes and she sounded agitated and told me they couldn't hold her for more than an hour, which still would have been less than the full length of time that she told me it could take. I had to delay my appointment, of course, and was miffed and felt rushed because of this change of plans. When I arrived to pick her up, they brought her out wearing a bandanna, smelling like a perfume factory and with an unsatisfactory nail clip -- and the dewclaws had not been touched. Horrible!!!! Will never go there again. When came by to pick up our pets on a Monday morning, Owner Mr Scott was at the Pet Resort. He was very rude. He became violent when we refused to pay until we saw our pets. He hit a wall can cursed profused during the time we picked up our pets. We had taken both of our dogs there for the last 8 years. On our last visit both dogs were afraid to go in. I was told that one of our dogs would need to be sedated if I was to bring her back. He said she was "alligator rolling in the tub". I've never in all the years we've had her see her do any such thing. I was surprised and Mr. Scott was quite rude about it. When I discussed this with my vet, she suggested I find a new groomer because the dogs obviously were traumatized. The vet is quite familiar with my dogs and couldn't believe either one would act as Mr. Scotts had described to me. I did take them to a new groomer and there were no problems.
