    A view from our patio!

This is one of the best places I've ever stayed in Colorado. The view is amazing, the ambience is really nice, they cook you breakfast in the morning from 8:30 to 9:30. I think we had 4-5 meat options , also vegetarian options if needed. It is a nice place to go relax and get away for the weekend, I enjoy taking edibles for my MS and it helps my muscles relax. I f you enjoy smoking instead you have to go on the patio . This is good because your room doesn't smell like smoke. The patio has two table and plenty of chairs. I also think the have speakers wired from the sitting room so you play music on patios, we did not try it. I think the total guest count for the place is 12, so the place was very quiet and that is what we needed. I'm going to get 2 of my friends with there wife's and we will go back and rent the rooms on the second floor, close to Shorty's room because there are two other rooms on that floor with a large room in the middle to play cards and hangout or enjoy the patio right in front of this room with an awesome view of the mountains. The place was clean, very clean everywhere, the rooms were warm and you could open up also to see a view of the mountains. The better view was from the patio but it was nice to have the light shine in or you could make the room really dark also. I will be looking at their pricing for a wedding just for the fact that my hope is my daughter can only invite 8 people to the wedding. Small wedding are good right? I do not know if that is true if you book a wedding but I'm going to check. There are some great options for food in Conifer and a small strip mall about a mile west of the hotel, food was good Brooks Place Tavern, look for my review to come , very good . We will be back, thank you. Hank

Do not stay here. I am ambulatory disabled, like millions of other people. The private rooms w outdoor hot tubs have stairs to use the toilets, no hand railings. The woman who hesitated to identify herself as the actual owner told us multiple stories about these missing hand railings: they ordered them but haven't installed, they just repainted and haven't put them back, and then she offered to hand ROPES for me to hang onto and a WHEELCHAIR for the STAIRS!!!!. I have terminal breast cancer, we wanted a nice valentine's and we live close by. We imagined lots of future evenings of staying here last minute. We immediately knew that wasn't happening. Even though we paid the full amount for 2 nights, we left. It wasn't safe. Before we even got home, she charged us an exorbitant cancelation fee. The next day I called, hoping to appeal to her humanity and get the cancelationfee and 1 night refunded. Curing cancer is more feasible. She then told me that she's disabled and she doesn't have trouble w the stairs so what's my problem, and then she told me she ALSO has terminal cancer. She threatened me not to tell ANYONE, especially her son. I don't know her son or anyone else she is related to. I do hope she was lying about her cancer too, because I can personally tell you no one deserves it. But she is a scammer. Read her 80 pages of gibberish TOS she has copy and pasted from all over the web. She told me that as a disabled person, I should know better than to stay at a bnb, and only stay at big hotels. Actual good advice, stay anywhere but here.

Absolutely loved our stay! We stayed in the master suite and it was beautiful. Surround sound throughout the entire suite, jacuzzi tub and walkout onto balcony with stunning views.

Torn curtains. All doors, even customer rooms have alarms. Hopefully not to monitor guests?

Frustrating, offensive and not kid friendly. The staff that assists is outstanding, nice, caring and helpful. However, the management is awful and lacks any customer service. We booked the Master Suite for 2 nights for our wedding (different business/location) and family booked another 2 bed room for themselves and our kids. When we were discussing amongst the family the best choice for the children, management called our in room phone to tell us they would charge us extra to put bedding on the second bed that was in the room. We thought this nickel-and-dime scheme was ridiculous, but put the kids on the pull out couch, "for free" and let it go. Later that night, we received another call to "inform" us about breakfast. We were told our children would not be allowed to arrive at breakfast until the end, to "hide" our children from the other guests. During this call, the owners Marguerite & James Herb, said we were just trying to find complaints and issues. We asked if they would like to speak in person and was informed they were not on site. Which is ironic, as staff the next day confirmed the owners live on site. We then asked to end the call, as it was going on for nearly an out. However, it turned out both owners were on the line, which I found out when I was transferred to James, whom said his {wife} was being polite. I finally decided we would eat in our room, to avoid any further arguing and potential issues in the morning. I stated fruit for the kids would be fine, and Marguerite responded "are you sure you want all the sugar for your kids on your special day?" Why would any business owner attempt to tell a customer how to raise their kids, or have the practitioner to tell them they can only be around if they hide their kids from the other guests? Furthermore, I also requested when we booked, nearly a year prior, to have a Romance Package for our wedding night. As expected with the lacking customer service, they "forgot" to make up our room for our wedding night. When I called the next day to inform about the mishap, on our once and a lifetime day, I received a "sincere apology", which included a refund of the romance package and a credit on our bill totaling not even 1% of our total bill. The owners truly caused unneeded stress, by being unwelcoming to our children, as well as trying to advise us on how to raise them, and couldn't even make a special night happen. As for the B&B, the outside is beautiful, although parking isn't the greatest. There are no controls for air conditioning or heat and some areas are lacking general maintenance. If you have children, I would not recommend this place unless you desire parenting advice or like to hide your kids from the other guests, or for a romantic getaway, unless you want to do all the decorating yourself.

They rented out the…read morewhole bed and breakfast for a three-day weekend, had the wedding in the field on Saturday, and invited the bridal party and the out of town guests to stay in the rooms. The bride and groom had their own cabin in the meadow -- so romantic! What a charming place! My husband and I stayed in the Colorado Sun room, which had so many amenities: a kitchenette, private hot tub, double-sided fireplace, two-person shower, and even a sauna! The whole B&B had just a ton of history and character. The furnishings were all super comfortable, with a relaxed, rustic vibe. A few things needed some updating and fixing, though. There was no hot water from the kitchen sink of our room because the little under-sink water heater was broken. One of the baseboards had come lose in the bathroom and there was tons of mold on the drywall. The water up there is well water, and it was incredibly soft; hard to wash the shampoo out of your hair, and it tasted NASTY. Definitely consider bringing your own bottled drinking water if you're going to stay a few days. The breakfast part of the bed and breakfast was pretty good. Two of the staff came up each morning to cook and serve hearty potatoes, sausage, eggs, fruit salad, coffee, orange juice, etc. It wasn't particularly good, but it was nice to have a hot, served meal that wasn't pizza delivery. We ate breakfast outside, where the bees were a nuisance because they wanted all of our food. We had just a fantastic weekend up here! Definitely the best wedding I've ever been to. I would highly recommend Meadow Creek for events of all kinds, but especially if you want to rent out the whole place.

We selected the separate cabin in the meadow for our two day stay. Initial appearance was exciting but once we occupied unit we found how lacking it was. It is billed as small and intimate but we found the place "just" dirty and tried to overlook it. Clean towels and sheets were provided. Screen door did not fit so bugs, gnats, flies and moths inside. Had a King bed but for us the mattress was too soft. Very low toilet and small shower. Hot tub in room puts off odor and cycles throughout the day - meaning it comes on 2-3 times at night in a very quiet setting. Local water tasted and smelled terrible...so bring bottled water (some provided). Two FOLDING chairs provided for deck which needs upkeep badly. When we arrived we had no clue where to go for check in. - which door? 9am breakfast is too late for us and was ok. Visiting with other guests always a plus. The Elk in the meadow was a real plus too.

Tip: Call to reserve late checkout at 1:30 for $30. First come first served. Otherwise checkout is at 11 AM. It was nice to enjoy coffee in the lodge after a late night concert. Worth it to take the shuttle (mini school bus with a couch and disco balls!) for $15/person to be dropped up at the top of Red Rocks - beats the long line walking up. $25/person pick up - approx 10 min walk but it's all downhill to the party bus and seemed way safer than all the taxi drivers in your face outside of the amphitheater. Brooks is awesome and takes care of you!! We stayed in the Rose Retreat again. It's a small room, but I love the big shower and mini fridge with Brita. The window air conditioning unit kept the place nice and cool with it being 95° outside. Private hot tub and robes in the closet. Breakfast is included. Order at check-in and enjoy the next morning. There is also fruit, bagels, coffee and tea, with alternative milk available. Bottomless mimosas available for a cost. We enjoyed a nice chess game with coffee after a delicious breakfast. This isn't a super nice or updated space, but we had everything we needed for our mixed bag of early 30s friends. My friends and I stayed in the Stone St. cottage, which is heavily Grateful Dead/psychedelic/ classic rock themed. The room is listed as sleeping 3, which we did on night one, but easily slept 4 on night 2. The grounds were so charming and eclectic. The cottage we were in was a little wonky and slanted on the floor, but the rooms were clean, the shower worked great and we had more than what we needed. We checked in super late in the darkness so we didn't get to experience a normal front desk check in, which I'm sure would brief us on procedures like pre-ordering breakfast the night before, but the staff was so accommodating when we showed up hungry and ordered bacon, eggs and potatoes in the AM. Mary was the cook and she was rad, quick witted and whipped up a lovely home cooked breakfast. There are 2 dogs (that we met) on site names Shokti (gorg white husky queen) and Mr. Dog (precious, hilarious chihuahua businessman) and we loved to pet and visit with them while in the main lodge. That space is incredible: kitschy, eclectic, trippy and warm, just like our whole stay! I could go on forever about how adult-summer-camp-esque the grounds were! Every cottage is themed, though we only entered ours. The covered hot tub was a crucial touch for our group in the crisp 50 degree weather to take a morning dip and unwind after the show. I'm unsure if all cottages come with hot tubs so definitely confirm if that's something you're interested in. The walkability to all the necessities and some breweries/ eateries was appealing when we had time to kill. Cliff House offers a shuttle to and from Red Rocks for a fixed price per rider. The shuttle to the venue leaves 15 minutes prior to doors which was a little late for us, so we opted to take the shuttle back and it was a highlight of the trip. Brook's organized the shuttle, sent us incredibly detailed instructions on where/ how to find her in a short, yellow school bus. I especially appreciate the details because we had been drinking etc and needed the depth of care taken to make sure we found her! The bus was stocked with beverages and we played music and just bopped down the hill, laughing our butts off. This was such a fun stay for us and it was thanks to the grounds, location, home cooked breakfast and tea in the lodge, Mary, Brooks, Shokti and Mr. Dog. I will recommend to anyone I know traveling that way!

The room was fairly clean, however, we did find that there were spider webs in the bathroom (with live spiders), dead bugs smashed and stuck to the ceilings and window sills, and the carpet was stained and needed a good vacuuming as there was dirt and pieces of dried mud. The welcome sheets were very cleverly written (by Misty we found out) and were a nice bonus. The beds were a bit stiff, and not all that comfortable, but they were made, and there were plenty of fresh fluffy towels for us to use. We did move the couch in the room closer to the fireplace (I guess this is unheard of by the owner from their reply, I mean who'd think people could want to sit and be comfortable in front of the fire), as we bought some duraflame logs to use in the fire (we were given 1 (not two as the owner has assumed as they always "can't find" any (depends who you ask, Scott said they had none but then when the lady who cleans the rooms heard we wanted one she was somehow able to make one appear out of thin air*), and when we did move the couch we found they do not clean behind/under it, as we found someone's vape pen, and a hair pick. The owner's reply says it is "too difficult" to move the couch and clean in it after every guest's stay, which I find disturbing. This means that any dandruff, trash, or fluids they leave behind are just sitting there on the couch waiting for the next guess. Gross. The room had a small kitchenette, with a double hotplate to use as a stove. The provided dishes were all mostly cleaned spotless, and they had all the basic necessities if you were to cook. However, the faucet of the sink broke off once during use, and caused quite the mess. We were able to fix it and clean the water up and it was fine afterwards, it just needed to be screwed down properly. The grounds are wonderful, and they have many hanging potted flowers, and hanging hummingbird feeders, so there are always a TON of hummingbirds flying to and from. They also have a pond that you can fish from, so long as it is only catch and release. The bad: Our heater went out once each night we stayed, sometime late and night, so we always woke up freezing cold. It was raining the entire time we stayed, so the temperatures dropped to the 40s at night. When we tried to call the office to get the heater fixed when we woke up, we found they don't have the office or phones staffed 24/7, and had to call the phone number provided to us about a million and a half times before a sleepy voice answered to help us out. *Edit: We're so sorry it was a big deal for the owner to have to wake up and get in the shower to come fix the heater that was supposed to have been working properly in the first place so we had a warm room to come back to when we were finished with work. Edit: Changed to 1/5 stars due to owner's response. They basically called us liars. Not the way to approach customer service. Instead of getting defensive maybe try to apologize for the issues we had, and ensure it doesn't happen to customers in the future. And yes, we did call them over and over again starting at 6am, as that is when we had to wake up and shower because we had to be at work by 7am, and our room was in the high 40s. Who'd have thought that when you get out of the shower you'd like to be warm, apparently a crazy concept for the lodge. I've also attached a screenshot of their "summer weather" during our stay. I'm sure most people won't find a 46 degree low anywhere near "tropic." Now when I come back to Bailey for business we will never return to the lodge. Good riddance.
