It was the red barn shaped building where you'd just pull up, get what you need, and go. Now, they've reinvented themselves as The Barn, and after blowing up on TikTok for their creative drinks, I knew I had to try their coffee. The Barn now offers so much more than your standard convenience drive thru. Their menu has leveled up with specialty lattes, dirty sodas, seasonal treats, and donuts. It was a crisp fall weekend and I was all about embracing the fall season vibes, so I went straight for a seasonal latte. The pumpkin spice latte came served INSIDE a real pumpkin! Not only was it super Instagram worthy, but the drink itself was a hit. Not overly sweet like so many pumpkin lattes tend to be. Definitely a fun way to enjoy a fall treat. My sister went for the Cookies and Scream latte, which was topped with a freshly baked Schmackary's cookie. She loved that it was both indulgent and flavorful, with the cookie as a decadent bonus. It's worth noting that these drinks are definitely on the pricier side. $38 for two lattes is a splurge, even by New York standards. But given the experience, and the fact that my drink was served in a literal pumpkin ... I can't say I regret it. I went to the front of the barn because that's the first signage I saw, but when I drove up, they let me know that you could drive through and get your order through the back of the barn also. (probably less awkward since you don't have to reach across to the passenger window that way) I really wanted to try the black sesame flavor and needed a little bit of caffeine boost but not a whole lot. So I ordered an iced matcha latte with the black sesame syrup. I took a little peak inside and there was a heavy duty espresso machine as well as a decent stock of grocery items like bread and snacks. The person who ordered in front of me seemed to have gotten a cold brew. For a little drive thru, there was a great variety being offered. My matcha tasted really great, albeit a little surprising. The drink tasted a little bit minty and spiced. I caught more cardamom-y warm spice flavor than black sesame, but I cannot say I was mad about it. It was really interesting and refreshing. A tad sweet, but again, this worked well with the spiced flavor. I did see that there's a black sesame hot chocolate you could add espresso to, which I'm really interested in trying next time. I just love the interesting flavors being offered like the speculoos cookie butter flavor foam. The whole branding and decor of The Coffee Barn is excellent, and the speed and novelty cannot be beat. Despite mentioning that there was a lot of bone in the meat during my last visit, I was told that the quality was satisfactory and that it was similar to previous purchases. However, when I got home, I noticed that there was barely any meat left on the cuts I received. It seems that customer feedback isn't always fully taken into account, which affects the overall quality and value. I hope the management considers inspecting the meat more carefully to ensure better quality and transparency.
