This is such a bad supermarket, now I know why I don't come here that often, first of all the store is terribly stocked, unfriendly staff, and to make matters worse during the busiest time of the day there was only one cashier register open with a line down the aisle. I am a Senior and it's not easy for me to do self service. Especially when I have over 40 items to check out. Shopping here was stressful and frustrating--definitely not worth it. I've been coming here for years never had a problem. I start using my new card called OTC. Had some problems with couple items and they refuse to give me my money back! They're marking the receipts free. Fix it! This comes straight out of my account and it's not free. Because you have your staff telling me oh it's free I didn't pay for it. Im new to the neighborhood just came in from England. I like your store very much. Your bakery selections are wonderful. I had a lot of packages and the cashier on register 7 told a supervisor she would help me out. We get to my vehicle she helps with the packages, she wouldnt accept a tip but she wouldnt let me close my car door to leave. I told her I had an appointment but kept rambling about a new thing with drivers licenses that she heard from another customer. I don't even have a good time shopping when usually a lot of people do the lines inside of this place to check out were extremely long, at this point, I don't even think I spent most of my time getting the food I spent most of my time waiting in line, especially because this place is about one star, I don't understand why so many people would want to come here, this place barely has any good selections, just the staff is weird. HELL ON EARTH! I used to shop at Stop & Shop in Greenvale and it was terrific. The Huntington Village location is FUBAR! Every. Single. Time. I visit this location we can cue the drama and raise my blood pressure. Why do they even offer the Scan It's when the cashiers just delete what you have scanned and then re-scan everything, again? Infuriating! I inquired about this practice and they said it was to ensure that all items were scanned. lol. People are filling up baskets and just walking out as you make honest people looking to save some time feel like criminals. I asked the manager what they are going to do to stop me from just walking out without paying and was told "nothing". So, if you do not want to pay, just don't. This morning, I ran in to grab some cupcakes for work around 7:15am. The cupcakes were up front, so picked it up and went to use the self checkout lane around 7:17am. The self checkout lanes were all closed and there was one woman working one register and there were two people in front of me. The first man had two orders and it was very obvious as he had one order on the conveyer and then it was separated by the plastic separator and then his "scan it" device after that. Well, this severely confused the cashier. She picked up the scan it gun and wiped the items and then proceeded to individually scan each item in the full cart. The customer paid for that transaction and then after that the cashier scanned his second transaction and paid for that. After that, a man holding a lone roasting chicken paid and then I paid. I got out of there around 7:40 (25 min cupcake run) and was made late for work. This place is a dump and so beyond help. Just put it out of its misery and shut it down. King Kullen and Shoprite are much better and have cheaper prices anyhow. read more

Can't believe I'm leaving a Yelp review for grocery store yet here I am. Most (not all) of the employees are either miserable, nasty or both. Produce is, more times than not, spoiled, overripe and poor quality. I didn't realize how awful this place was until I happened to go to Uncle Guiseppes in Melville. The only reason I ever go back to Stop and Shop is because it's close to home, and even still once I'm there I think to myself "I hate this place". Terrible. I couldn't wait for Shop-Rite to finally open. Stop & Shop has stopped carrying many "name" brands & is only stocking their own brand. Also only one or two checkout registers are open & heaven forbid that you have to bag your purchase by yourself If I have to check myself out (never without a problem) and then bag my purchases they give you a look as if you should be bagging. I live in Huntington and go to stop and shop because its convenient. I am always disappointed by the quality and selection. Produce is rotten, especially organic, which is packaged, for the most part, in bulk, so forget it if you are single. Today I almost tripped on a tile, didn't realize that several of them were sticking way up, peeling off the floor in the produce dept. Other shoppers were hostile and impatient, and I was treated so poorly at check out that I will never go back. just moved to Huntington Village and was happy to be able to walk to a grocery store. lavazza coffee was marked down 3.00 per can and serendipity ice cream 3.00 per pint. I bought 2 of each so should have had 12.00 in savings, not even to mention other sale items. one of the 4 had the discount on my receipt, had to go to customer service and then to walk to the aisles with the "manager" to show the sale items, she questioned the flavors, etc, labels were clear and I had the items. she them reimbursed the 9.00. however, the amount of time and effort to go to that desk and then walk around to the aisles with her and back to her desk, was ridiculous. what an unethical business. advertising sales but not giving the discount. read more

Happened AGAIN. Nasty 64 year old lady manager, tall, shorty blonde doo & red lips . Last week we asked her about a produce (avocados) delivery question: with a nasty, pinched, sour puss expression- gives us a really mean "NO!" type answer. I've overlooked the poor quality of produce for 13 years but will not return after the poor treatment by the manager after I and another lady asked for an additional cashier. There were 20 people in line for 1 cashier after the 2nd left. The manager was not only condescending but rude to us both and did nothing to improve the situation. Really unhappy employees. If you're going to stock a salad bar, then you need different low-fat protein sources such as tofu, chicken, veggie tuna, maybe roast beef. Five types of full fat cheese isn't going to replace lean protein. While I was there, 3 people found no protein and asked for help. Each counter person pointed to another counter person and no one resolved the problem. So I searched for a lean protein shake to have with my incomplete salad. I search the entire store. Finally I asked customer service. She pointed me to aisle 10 with Glucerna for diabetics which is not the same. This is 2019!!! Many people supplement their protein intake with ready to drink items, 25-49g of protein and less than 5 net carbs: Isopure, MuscleMilk Pro Series, PureProtein, MetRx, OWYN... Please. read more

I've have shopped at many Stop & Shops. While I mainly shop at the Northport location, which is wonderful in all ways, I do shop at the new Huntington location at lease once a week out of necessity. I was very happy to see Waldbaum's disappear. I was hoping for the usual lovely shopping experience at the new store. However, I have been extremely disappointed. The selection of most items is very limited or non-existent. The shelves are not well stocked. They don't carry some very basic items. Many time the shelves are sparsely populated or empty. They have simply slapped the S&S name on the building and have not made any improvements. The lighting in the store is very dim, most employees don't know where things are, the outside of the store needs sprucing up, the lines get very long, very often - not enough cashiers. Several times while shopping there, other customers have shared their disappointment. People have very little options on where to go grocery shopping in the Huntington Village area. The only other alternatives are King Kullen - WAY OVER PRICED, or Wild By Nature. Also overpriced and mostly organic selection. Whoever is managing this store needs to be replaced! read more

I wish i could give this place more than a 2, but i just can't. Every time i buy vegetables especially peppers (red bell peppers) they always like clockwork have mold inside and are all black. The broccoli is never that good & the produce overall sucks. The fish area SMELLS SO BAD like chlorine. It's disgusting and vile. Why i gave it a two? The prices are good with the stop & shop card and you get free gas from using the points. They also have great items in stock - that is, its stocked. I HATE this f****** place . First of all... i went TWO hours before they closed and the deli would refuse to serve me because they were "closed." Second, EVERYTHING is expired . the bread, the rolls, the chicken, the meat ... EVERYTHING expires within 2-3 days . How the F*** am i supposed to eat $200 worth of food in 3 days . I literally left with icecream because that was the only thing that wasnt going to expire by tomorrow . i used the self checkout because i just wanted to get the hell out of there and the machine kept messing up and a 2 minute process turned into a 20 minute process. This store is awful, as others have said. Recently moved here & was glad to see it's a stones throw from where I live. The happiness ends there. The shelves are not well stocked (with common things) - so frustrating. I've brought home outdated meat several times already (including today). There are never enough cashiers. At 4 pm today there were 2 cashiers open with lines a mile long, (including self checkout). Lo and behold at the other end of the registers, was the front end (cashier) manager, talking & shooting the breeze, with another employee - leaning against the checkout. Just hanging out, having a good time. When I asked if there will be another register opening soon, I got a mumble. That's it. Just a mumble. The checkout manager is definitely not on the ball, and several times I noticed her clothes were stained & dirty. The store is dirty, too. Will not continue to shop there. The fruit selection is horrible they don't restock at all, I also never see anyone actually stocking the shelves anywhere in the store when I am there but I see it all the time at other locations. This store is a disaster. It is a terrible representation of the "STOP&SHOP" brand. They are always under-stocked and will remain out of stock on certain items for WEEKS. The staff is incompetent and unfriendly. The store is visibly dirty with areas that reek of a rotting stench. I've attempted to purchase cold cuts here several times and have waited for over 15 minutes just to place an order. The guys behind the counter make sloths look like superheroes. Even when using their automated ordering system- I've actually completed all of my shopping and left without my deli order being fulfilled. The carts are all broken. There's ALWAYS trash all over the parking lot and a certain can collecting, local lunatic rifling through the donation bins. Management is obviously a joke. CORPORATE TAKE NOTE!!!
