I wanted to love Sweetie Pies but too many things were off for me. The delicious Spinach Cheddar empanada is listed on the website menu, but they have no food menu of any kind at the shop. It turned out these empanadas ALSO have chicken, much to the disappointment of a vegetarian like myself. This snafu could have been avoided if there were at least food labels on the items in the bakery display, but there were not, and no prices either. Not a deal breaker by itself, you can always ask the staff, right? But they are SO busy that I feel guilty asking and holding up other customers. After a lunch that left me with a bit of a tummyache, we wanted to get some sweet treats to go, but being reluctant to ask about the identities and prices of most items, I walked out with less than I thought I would, which just left me feeling kind of bummed. Came here on a nice day to meet some friends for coffee and a bite. It's a beautiful location and the outdoor patio is perfect to hang and chat with friends. I ordered an egg bite and an iced hazelnut latte. I got the egg bite within minutes, I'll share why later in my review. The latte took a bit long as they clearly forgot about it. I waited almost 10 minutes watching them give everyone on line after me their drinks. I had to ask for it then finally got it. Finally sat with my friends outside and took a bite of the egg bite. It was ice cold. I wasn't informed they serve it cold! I it wasn't flavorful so I didn't even eat it. I took a sip of the hazelnut latte And it was missing the hazelnut so it was a plain, bitter latte. I had some sugar in my bag and that helped but I was so disappointed. I try to avoid franchise coffee shops and support local but they have to be somewhat good for almost $11 for a small iced latte and cold egg bite. One of the cutest coffee shops I have ever been to! As I walked in I felt as though I was transported to a different time and somewhere in New England. Everything in regards to decor was quaint, clean, and homey which I adored. The service was particularly fast for us busy as it was. I thought we would not be able to find seats actually but there is outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. Finally, the cookie was delicious and I devoured it in one sitting. Stumbled upon this coffee shop while we were in Cold Spring Harbor. The staff here are friendly & helpful and the restaurant itself had a quaint & homey feel with only 5 tables inside but there's also outdoor seating as well. Tried their organic Colombian coffee (black), which was great, the banana walnut muffin & almond croissant were not bad. One of my favorite coffee spots on LI! They have so many fun flavors, but my go to is usually the sweet mint in an iced latte. They also have really delicious pastries. Just note that it does get busy and there's not much seating inside, so it's not really a place you would stay long at. I brought my computer here a couple weeks ago because I was hoping to sit down and do some work, but I couldn't get a seat so I ended up taking my coffee to go. A cute spot right off the main street for some caffeination! Inside is quite cozy, considering Sweetie Pies is literally located inside a repurposed house. One room is for ordering your coffee or treats, the other has seating to crank out some work files or relax. I ended up ordering a mocha and a gruyere french onion croissant and got my order relatively quickly which was quite nice. The mocha itself was serviceable. It had that slight bitterness which I looked forward to in a mocha. But it also didn't taste much like chocolate either. Just generically sweet. The french onion croissant however, more than made up for it! A lot of onion and gruyere flavor. A bonus is that the cheese melted outside the croissant, so you got a bunch of toasty, crispy bits on the outside as well. Delicious. Overall, I think its a wonderful place to pick up a coffee if you're in the area. Just grab a cup to warm up while strolling the harbor! read more

The coffee's not bad, but the employees seem confused about their own menu. I initially asked for an iced flat white (typically an 8-10 oz drink, I said anywhere from 8-10oz of milk is fine) and the cashier asked if an iced cortado is okay. I said sure, and when the drink came out it was a 16oz iced latte. Since it was supposed to be a cortado (a drink that's equal parts espresso and milk) I asked if they could remake it with equal parts espresso and milk, and they gave me a drink with 10oz of milk. Their coffee is good, so I just took it, but their complete inability to follow instructions when both times I told them exactly how much milk to put in it is perplexing. Also, how do you work at a specialty coffee shop and not know the basic makes of classic drinks? For that reason I can't say I would recommend this shop, if I really wanted an espresso macchiato or hot cortado and got handed a latte's worth of milk I would be very disappointed. read more

I came mostly to enjoy the back garden space and seating area. That part was beautiful and quiet enough given it was right off of main street. I tried a turmeric latte and there was no flavor. Not enough turmeric and no black pepper or anything else to elevate it. Several other coffee shops have much more complex and interesting flavors along Long Island. One positive thing that's come out of this quarantine is that I've had plenty of time to try places that I've never had the time to go to. The weather has finally taken a turn for the better so my best fiend and I (along with the kids) took a drive out to Sweetie Pies for some coffee and a walk around CSH. It was worth every minute of the 35 minute drive! The line to get in was pretty short when we arrived around 10:30. They let one group in at a time to order from the hallway of the building so we only waited about 20 min or so. There were so many things I wanted to try so I ordered a bunch: s'mores iced coffee (coffee ice cubes in it! How does every place not do coffee cubes?!), the chocolate chip scone, lemon bar and rainbow crumb cake. Everything was fantastic! The scone was perfect scone consistency (which is a huge pet peeve of mine), the lemon bar was AMAZING. Uber lemony and the crust was flaky and perfect. The rainbow crumb cake didn't disappoint. I've had that cake many times from a different shop in Astoria and it was the same moist, amazing cake that it always is. We sat in the little courtyard in the back while the kids played and enjoyed our treats then walked over to the water on a gorgeous Saturday. I'll definitely be back, even when quarantine is over. Came here once before, but did not have a chance to try their goodies. After seeing their instagram pics I developed a huge craving for their rainbow crumb cake. I appreciated having a window at the door to take the orders rather than going into a crowded coffee shop to comply with social distancing. I ordered an iced sticky bun latte made with oat milk and hubby had an iced snickers latte. We also got the rainbow crumb cake and a pecan bun. Such a quick and easy process on this trip to SPOM. You walk up to the counter, view the options they have to offer, pay and they give you the bag. Just so wonderful! The menu was right there along with staff wearing mask and hand sanitizer at the credit card reader. We opted for the birthday cake scone with beautiful specs of sprinkles and a delicious frosting on top. The classic but always favorite rainbow cookie crumb I wish was a bit more plentiful in size was still delicious. And they had something called the monster slice (or similar to that), layers of brownie and peanut butter and cake. I don't know for sure but it was pretty miraculous. My gf took me to breakfast here on my birthday and we LOVED it. They have a really adorable garden to sit in. The coffee was really good. I got the snickerdoodle iced coffee. The breakfast was amazing!! If you come here you must get the everything Frenagle with chive cream cheese. It was absolutely delicious and perfectly flaky. Overall nothing special tbh, but maybe the only shop of its kind for the area. I got the crumb cake which visually looks amazing, but it was pretty dry. Took a couple bites and put it away. I'll try to revive it in my air fryer when I get home lol. I also got the Sticky Bun latte and it lacks consistency. The cinnamon is prominent but the rest of the drink falls flat. Only drank half. I live about 30 minutes away from here but have seen people post on social media about Sweetie Pies. I decided to take the drive to check it out. It was a weekday around 10am. Parking on the actual street is a bit rough but I saw there was a municipal lot diagonal from the location that had plenty of spots. When I saw the sign, I walked in and it was kind of like a mini house. Very cute. Their door is on the left. Not sure what was on the right. When I walked in it's very tiny. There were two people in front of me, so it gave me a chance to look at the many (no prices list?) They had a table to sit at inside but also a few tables out side in the front and the back to sit at. Side note: I sat outside to take a few pics and I got two mosquito bites. I was wearing perfume but who knows, so that made me rush a bit! Coffee: I did a medium Sticky Bun iced coffee. The barista told me it wasn't exactly like a cinnamon bun because it had some mix of hazelnut/caramel/cinnamon. I tried it anyway. They put actual coffee cubes in their coffee too so it doesn't get watered down! For a flavored coffee I didn't think it was overly sweet which I liked and was originally worried about. However, the coffee itself didn't seem that strong to me. 9/10 Food: I noticed on social media they have some speciality pastries. I wanted to take two home to try. I did the chocolate chip scone (DELISH! 10/10). And the infamous Rainbow Cookie Crumb Cake. But the RCCC was sweet and I only tried a little piece (6/10). Both of these pastries were HUGE and weighed a TON. I definitely could not finish one in one sitting. Price: For a medium iced coffee and the two pastries my total was $17.50 - I thought this was very high... There was no pricing on the menu hanging so it was a bit of a shock. Due to the distance and price, I don't think I'd drive 30 minutes again. However, it definitely is a good spot and if I was in the area I'd probably stop in. Still 4 stars :). read more

Perfect for warmer weather! They have street parking only. I came in on a Sunday evening and they were busy! Must be very popular. They have everything between coffee and teas to scones and muffins. Coffee and treats! This cozy shop located right on main street in the town of cold Spring Harbor is charmer. When walking through the front door of this shop you notice a few tables and people coming in for their morning coffees. I went with an iced coffee which had a lot of flavor with some nut notes to it but was pretty weak. While searching through all the pastries which looked amazing. The rainbow crumb cake is what I decided on and it was a delicious decision. It had the hard crumby top with the bottom being moist, making every bite perfect.
