If you're looking for the go-to BBQ spot in Selma, this is it. No question. This place delivers…read morethat authentic, Southern, mom-and-pop barbecue experience that you hope for when you're in Alabama. They cover most of the BBQ classics -- pork, chicken, ribs, burgers, and all the traditional Southern sides -- though no brisket here. Honestly? You won't even miss it. We ordered the 1/2 lb of BBQ pork plate with fried okra and corn nuggets (the plate comes with two sides, which is perfect). The pork was everything great barbecue should be: moist, smoky, tender, and packed with flavor. You could taste the care in every bite. It's the kind of meal that makes you slow down and savor it. The fried okra was crispy and seasoned just right, and the corn nuggets were golden little bites of happiness -- slightly sweet, crunchy outside, soft inside. A perfect pairing with the pork. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They gladly offered suggestions for sides and made us feel like regulars even though it was our first visit. That kind of hospitality makes a big difference. Parking is right out front -- probably around eight spots -- and they do fill up quickly, especially at lunch. The restaurant was busy with mostly locals, which is always a great sign. The location is tucked away in a residential area, so definitely look up directions beforehand. There's a small street sign, but it's easy to miss if you're not paying attention. All in all, this spot has that genuine small-town BBQ charm with big-time flavor. If you're in Selma and craving real Southern barbecue, this is the place to go. Highly recommend!

We also added in some fried hot wings, which were crunchy and pleasantly spiced. On the side, we enjoyed the crispy slaw and sweet corn nuggets. Of course we washed it all down with some sweet tea. Man, I wish I could have those ribs for breakfast every day! Also, the folks at Lannie's were really nice.

Hats off to this place for making one of the toughest things in barbecue, moist chicken. You can't…read moreimagine the number of times I've ordered smoked chicken at a barbecue restaurant only to be very disappointed at how dry and tasteless it was! The smoke flavor has to penetrate the chicken in order to really give it a good flavor, but that doesn't mean it has to be dry and there are ways of making sure it isn't . The chicken I enjoyed on this visit wasn't dry and it had a good smoke flavor, not as deep as I would like, but it was definitely there and noticeable. So they get five stars in my book just because they can do chicken right. We also had some pulled pork and it was very tasty as well. Barbecue shouldn't need sauce to be edible, the sauce should be in accompaniment and nothing more. When you walk into the restaurant, you get a definite feel that this is not your glamour palace barbecue shop. It smells like smoke, and I'm not talking about cigarettes. It's clean and the interior has the feel of a Barbecue shack. The kind of feel that makes you feel comfortable that you're gonna get something good. When you first pull up to the restaurant, you can be deceived, but when you walk inside to get the real deal. The restaurant is clean. The staff is friendly And very helpful. Would I say this is the absolute best barbecue I've ever had, probably not. But it hits all the right marks in my book for excellent barbecue.

It was almost closing time but they allowed us to eat inside. I ordered a large BBQ pulled pork sandwich, baked beans and fried okra. My bother had fried chicken tenders, corn nuggets. My sandwich was huge and packed with meat. Perhaps a medium one next time. The pork was so good that I had leftovers for breakfast. Chicken fingers were crunchy and juicy! They bread them there. Corn nuggets and okra was from a bag but well done! We had tried to go across the street to another restaurant that was packed with an hour wait. I spotted this little divvey place and Yelpers did not let me down. This is individually owned and I enjoyed the meal and the leftovers!

Well to my surprise they had some today. I always like to get just my cheese on the side so it doesn't get too melted. When I made it home and opened the box the potato is the size of the ones you get from a 5 lb bag and no bacon bits. I called them inquiring about the size and was told by a young girl "that's is what we were giving to sell and it is nothing that can be done about it" ok thank you ma'am I stand corrected. If you are going to cut your potatoes in half do the same with your prices. Please inform your customers before taking their order that your are now getting your produce from Walmart which has caused a decrease in the your portions of your vegetables.
