    Soggy burger.
    Stephen B.

Heard they had a good burger so I was close and told my co worker I would get us one. One, the burger was huge and the meat had a good smoke flavor. But when they put all the condiments on the burger it turned into a sloppy soggy mess. The only way to it it was to throw the bottom part of the bun off and wrap the burger in the wrapper it came with to hold it. It seems that the burger had been sitting for a while before I order. They definitely need to get a Bunn that will hold up !

Pork with mac and cheese, slaw, and potato salad

Tin Top has been on my list of BBQ joints to try in Alabama for a while. I finally had a chance while traveling from Dothan up to Huntsville for a good midway lunch spot. Well, no surprise here with the name as this looks like a shack with a, you guessed it, a Tin Top roof. The place is not very big at all. As I pulled up, you can see the smoker in the back with the wood stacked in the back. (It's hickory wood.) What's even better is you can smell it before you even get out of the car. When you enter, you order at the counter and can see a pit with the BBQ being kept hot and fresh. There is no combo plate on the menu but the nice ladies accommodated me by giving me 2 ribs tk fo along with my pork plate. You would be surprised at how often I get a no for my request when there is not a combo option. My pork plate with 3 sides, 2 ribs, and a sweet tea came up about $19. The pork and ribs were phenomenal! They were juicy and easy to chew. The pork definitely had a nice, smoky hickory taste to them. There is one sweet and tangy sauce that mixes well with the meat. This would be a 5 star review based on the meat alone. The sides though, were just ok. The beans were the best as they had the hickory smoke flavor like the pork. The potato salad is a mustard base but I like my potato salad and little more smooth. The mac and cheese was ok. The slaw had a little mayo to it with some dill and vinegar and heavy on the black pepper. Sweet tea was brewed fresh and refreshingly sweet! Tin Top gets what you need to get right at a BBQ joint - phenomenal meat. Most of the sides didn't click with me so I would rate it a 4.5. I would eat here again in a heartbeat.

Pig wings, baked beans, BBQ sauce and Mac & Cheese!! Yum!

Wow! Tucked away from everything in the middle of now where -- best BBQ we have had in a long time! The ribs were Huge, moist and meaty and well done! My Pig Wings were Amazing and slid off the bone in a mouthful of yum! Their sauce is really good, sweet and tangy. Mac & Cheese was creamy with a bit of spice, the baked beans were so delicious and smoky! Although this spot is off Interstate 65, it is well worth your time! NOTE: Google took us to the wrong spot: Tin Top is at tHe intersection of CR 31 and CR 33.

FYI: Veggie Special isn't always the same.

I was originally going to get Vietnamese food in Downtown Birmingham, but changed my mind when I thought about parking. Tin Top was on the way back to Montgomery, and it looked intriguing... Location: The restaurant is in the middle of nowhere! I almost passed it because it just looked like a house while going 55 mph and jamming to my music. Lol...Ample parking and you can literally park anywhere! Atmosphere: I didn't go into the sitting area (I forgot to take a look), but the area in the front is really cool because while you're paying you can see the cook making your meat in this huge man-made oven. It was awesome! It's really relaxing and the staff there are really helpful when it comes to choosing food. Food: OH BOY! Based off of how this food tastes I don't know why there aren't more reviews. I got the rib dinner with three sides (mac & cheese, collard greens, and baked beans). I also got a pig wing and banana pudding. The pig wing literally had meat falling off of the bone and juices running down my hand. I couldn't believe that that meat was that tender!! The ribs were suuuuper good. They tasted smoked. The mac & cheese was very good - very cheesy! The collard greens were meh, and the baked beans were scrumptious. The banana pudding was deeelish! I saw a lot of reviews about it and knew that I had to try it. It definitely meets the hype! Customer service: The people there are so sweet! I should've gotten their names. One was a young, sweet girl with glasses. She was the cashier. Another was the cook - a gentleman with really light eyes (I definitely remember that) and super sweet! The last woman I encountered was this sassy brunette with a spunky style about her. They all made the experience really great on top of the fact that the smell of that place was phenomenal! Will I be back? Yup! Would I recommend? I already have and it's only been a couple of hours since I left.

Half rack of ribs! Seemed more like a full rack! Tons of food!

Friendly. Small town feel. No waiting. Fresh BBQ pulled right off the pit and put on your plate! Yummy!

They were not stingy at all. My food quality was peak, despite the nearness of closing time. My bbq pork was succulent and perfectly sliced. There was no tough meat. There was plenty of sauce, pickles, and chow chow. The potato salad was sweet, tangy, and creamy and the mac and cheese was deliciously cheesy. I love their mac and cheese because while creamy and cheesy it doesn't taste like Velvetta. It reminds me of my mom's home made baked version. The entire experience was grea

I jumped at the chance to try this place out because of the reviews of other Yelpers. The restaurant is sitting on the corner of Pelham Parkway and County Road 68 East, across from The Foundry Superthrift Outlet and Dollar General, and next door to TherapySouth. It is a nice sized place and the atmosphere is welcoming. I was helped by Dyron, who seemed like he never knew a stranger. He was so kind to everyone, including those on the phone. I even heard him say, "So we got your dad covered - what can I get started for YOU?" He was excited when he found out I was a "newbie". I love the menu. Each item has some form of "hit" in the name - slappin', crackin', slammin', and more. I ended up with the "Bussin' Burger" and a side of fries to go (since I was heading back to work). The food is cooked upon ordering, so my meal was nice and hot when I left. And I am here to tell you, the name of the burger was totally accurate! It was delicious - seasoned very well, and the perfect amount of toppings. The fries were good, but that burger - so good! No wonder Hit Different is a 2026 Shelby County Small Business of the Year Nominee! They deserve it and then some! Do yourself a favor, listen to the other Yelpers, and head down Highway 31 for an amazing meal at Hit Different! I am going back!
