Everything we ordered was delicious from the clams bulhao to the arroz marisco to the Algarve tart (best algarve tart we had on our trip). Even the homemade garlic bread was good. Seafood all tasted fresh, staff was pleasant, and the restaurant had a catchy playlist going too. Only downside was how long it took to deliver our main course after starter. We were seated at a table near the front door; perhaps sit at a table closer to the front for better attention.

We spent a month in the Algarve and ended up dining here at least 10 out of 30 nights. We kept trying to find another restaurant that could compare--and never did. The food is authentic Portuguese cuisine at its finest. The clams, made from the owner's grandmother's recipe, are hands-down the best I've ever had in my life. Honestly, it doesn't matter what you order--everything on the menu is exceptional. Be adventurous. You won't regret it. The restaurant is family-owned and family-run, which adds so much to the experience. Vitor runs the kitchen and delivers incredible food every single night. His wife Ines runs the front with grace and warmth. Luan and Joah were there every evening we visited, offering some of the best service we've ever experienced anywhere--professional, kind, and genuinely caring. The ambiance is casual, quiet, and cozy--it truly feels like home. Every guest is welcomed like family, and this incredible team goes above and beyond to make each night memorable. If you go (and you absolutely should), tell them the Fanellas from Florida sent you. Jardim Rústico is a gem, and dining there was one of the highlights of our trip.

I went with a large group of coworkers around 11 of us during this dinner. The staff were all very attentive. They have excellent Sangria. Too bad I couldn't drink more than a small cup as I have medicine that keeps me from drinking too much. Anyways, I reviewed the menu and they have many good choices. At this point in the week I was feeling a bit tired of seafood so I decided to order the Portuguese Steak. Also I had what is a must try appetizer the fried sardines. OMG fresh sardines are amazing. If I had these at home I would certainly eat many more sardines. The flavor was great, and the cracker breading very tasty. The steak was very tasty with a topping of ham and a good juice it was cooked in. I would guess more garlic and olive oil. Also they offer the usual olives and bread to eat before your meal but you need to request those and they are worth requesting. I finished my meal off with a piece of coconut cake. It was quite good as well and wasn't to sweet. It was pretty unique and hard to describe other than a cake with lots of coconut but not frosted. I loved it. The restaurant may offer the best views in this area of the ocean as well. It was getting surprisingly cold after the sun set but they offered guests blankets to stay warm. It was a great dinner and note it may be slightly hard to find so use google maps to get there if walking.

The food is mid. One server really did his best to recover our experience and we are thankful. Cannot recommend. Especially if you are a group of women be wary. I booked this place on June 7, 2026 for an August 15th dinner. I am the maid of honor for a bachelorette party. I landed in albuefiera on August 14th. I got a call from the restaurant. They said that for my reservation we could only sit at the terrace for 1.5 hours. We accommodated as we wanted the beautiful view for this special day. We confirmed via text as well. Upon entering the restaurant was empty. They sat us indoors, far from the ocean terrace view we reserved. I let the host now. He looked at me and ignored me. I spoke again. He walked away. I let our server know, he said that the reservation was last minute and this was the only table available - empty restaurant. I let him know I booked 2 months in advance. He said "no you didn't." I walk to his iPad and ask him if he would like to see my email receipt or texts. He says "no you didn't." Eventually he looks at the iPad and confirms I was truthful. He does not apologize or acknowledge me. He walks to our terrace table and begins arranging it. We eventually sit and the tone is set. He stands with other staff staring, laughing, pointing. He was especially looking at one woman in our party. It made us all very uncomfortable on this special night. Two members of our party kindly ask him if there is an issue or if he can stop. We get a new server, he is amazing. He was kind, tried to break the ice, and turn our experience around. We are very appreciative of this one man in this establishment. Eventually the restaurant filled up. We did our best to enjoy the food and splurged, it was mediocre at best. I'm a New Yorker (we can be tough) who has 14 years of hospitality expeiriencde and 6 years client facing corporate work. I've never felt so unwelcomed in a restaurant. So pointed out. So clearly treated differently then other guests. One member of our party was really hurt by the mean treatment by staff. She couldn't eat or enjoy, she cried, and left the bachelorette celebration. The night ruined. I cannot recommend this place, especially considering all of the positive reviews. A once in a lifetime celebration was really stained by this experience. I paid and tipped my server directly, happy to leave rather than move upstairs for cocktails and dessert. 3 of my group spoke to management. They called today, August 16,2026) to apologize. The manager asked, "What can I do to fix this I feel really bad." I suggested a comp as we do not want to go back there. He said no. The attempted apology feels really ingenious. Sorry means action, change. Leaving this here, especially if you are women be wary. This is the last I'll think of it and we move on. Take care.
