It's a hidden gem as the restaurant is located on a small street away from the crowd. However, it's very popular among the locals. We ordered the Grilled Turbot which is a big fish meant to be shared among two people. The fish is perfectly cooked and seasoned. It's my first time trying Turbot. The texture is very similar to sea bass but slightly fattier with thicker skin. The potatoes seem plain and simple but it is full of flavor.

Be prepared to wait. Simple Portuguese food. But so great. Tasty, generous portions. One of the best in Lagos.

Our bill, cheapest in Lagos so far.

Bit hidden place, but food is really great, even so on a simple side. We were a bit earlier there than typical lunch time and were served rather fast. It gets rather crowded later and your serving time gets longer. Great grilled tuna and good choice of desserts.

Amazing

Great Little Restaurant. Simple fish dishes which are Just amazing. A Liter of the House White which is decent to Drink cost you 5 Euros. The fish is of exceptionel quality. Get there around 6 or 7 otherwise you gunna End up waiting up to 1 hr in the Queue in front of the Restaurant. Still absolutely Worth the wait.

Amazing fresh seafood food by the ocean, what else can I ask for? We got the fresh sardines, clams,…read moresalmon, and sea bass. We loved everything including the dessert and coffee. The staff was extra nice and helped us money exchange situation.

A casual restaurant for no-frills Portugese food. My friend and I had some amazing meals while in…read moreLagos, and unfortunately this just was not on par with the seafood we experienced elsewhere. Lota is good for groups and families, wielding picnic style benches, quick service, and affordable prices. But make sure to bring cash! We couldn't believe our eyes at some of the prices (pâté for only 0,6€?? squid for 11,50€??), but quickly learned that this was because the pâté came in a little peel-pack, and the sangria tasted like artificial strawberry juice. However, spend wisely and you will get full. The fish is mostly grilled, with minimal marination or fuss but it does taste pretty fresh. We were brought boiled potatoes and salad to accompany our meal which was a nice balance to the meal. Everything came out pretty quickly and it seemed like the vibe was to get diners in and out just as efficiently. No one was rude per se, but the staff very clearly were just waiting for their shift to be over so they could close up. Despite how convenient this eatery is, it probably wouldn't be on my places to return to when I'm back in Lagos.
