The beautiful, amazing, talented women that were on stage giving us one hell of a show and doing crazy things just blow everybody's mind. The ending was definitely the best part of the night and I won't share what happened. The theater itself is a good size with a concession inside if you want a snack or two. If you check in on yelp you will receive free popcorn. The bar is inside the theater, but I believe they only serve wine and beer so don't expect a full bar. My girlfriend suggested I pay for the VIP tickets and told me it would definitely be worth it. Unfortunately, where we were sitting at the high tables near the stage wasn't the greatest view. The speakers were blocking a lot of the show and it was extremely annoying and disappointing. What's the point of paying for VIP tickets if I don't have the best view in the room!? We were talking about going to another show but I'm not paying $30 for taking that risk of maybe getting shitty seats. The security was definitely on point, there's also a cop who I personally thank for being there. There was a disruptive man who is causing a bit of a problem and security put him in check. Overall we had a great time and I took away a star because of where my seat was.

The staff go above and beyond, the country club is exquisite and the food and drink options are delectable. It was the perfect weekend and location for a friends bridal shower, filled with love, cuteness and happiness. The cake, made by the Mirasol chef, was delectable. We simply could not stop eating it. And the food, created and made by the winner of Hells Kitchen, was absolutely incredible. We even went back for seconds, thirds, and maybe even fourths. Mirasol is also known for their incredible golfing and stunning homes.

I love love the lunch salad bar so much.. it has an extensive salad bar, fruit bar, two kinds of soups, freshly made breads and desserts, plus a soft serve ice cream bar (I'm sure I'm leaving things out). The Sunday brunch is the largest and most special brunch I've ever been to.. that's saying a lot as brunch was a regular part of my life until I got married in my early 30s.. and still I brunched occasionally. I'm not sure if you have to be a guest of a member to dine in the clubhouse, but if you ever get the opportunity I would suggest you accept it! I want to also mention that Wycliffe servers and staff (including the valet service staff) are some of the most friendly, pleasant, happy and professionally trained people. They also had rows and rows of tattoo artists working their magic for anyone wanting to get one done. The carnivorous plants. They had a good selection of sizes and prices. I saw some plants I had only seen in books before. I ended up getting some. The plant vendors all very helpful. I was given websites and instructions with each plant. I felt confident. I would not kill these plants this time. The expo had the dark creative art. It was beautifully disturbing. Some of the taxidermy turned into art blew my mind. Some one made a lamp out of a ribs and spine and it actually looked cool looking. Meeting and talking to the artist and vendors here was a fun adventure for me. Everyone was helpful. They didn't seem to mind explaining the art process. This was a good show.

My friends and I have become somewhat regulars in the Florida comic con scene, so we were intrigued…read moreto hear that OtakuFest would be leaving Miami (due to logistical demands of the FIFA World Cup according to their website), to the Palm Beach Convention Center in West Palm Beach. Let's just say, the magic and whimsy that we've come to love about OtakuFest seemed faded this year and I sincerely hope that the organizers return to Miami next year. Their website claims they secured a "50,000 square foot space" with "improved parking" but this seemed to be misleading at best. The vendor and artist alleys were so small that we were able to tour the entire floor in less than 20 minutes... this includes the time it took looking at some of the merch. There was an upstairs where some more vendors were and rooms for panels but it seemed they weren't being used and it also seemed that many vendors that the convention used to have didn't join this year. Now, this is coming across, of course, as more of a review of the convention, and not the convention center. However, the convention center booked another convention just a few feet away and people were confused on where to go. I do feel that a lot of the disappointments about this year's OtakuFest came as a result of the new venue. We spent about 1.5 hours there in total and left feeling a bit disappointed. We didn't even see that many cosplayers which is a hallmark of a good con. I sincerely hope that OtakuFest returns to Miami next year.
