Bacon cheeseburger with skinny fries 2/$15 Thursday special
    Anna T.

A very casual laid back place open to not only mar don guests. The layout may seem awkward because you can't tell if you need to wait or seat yourself and the waitress may be hidden on the other side of the restaurant. They really don't care where you sit. We went there for lunch and dinner and the burgers and fries were spot on and the fish and chips were very yummy. Get the wedge fries they are beer battered and thick like jojo's. They have a great selection of beers on bottle and tap. Avery laid back atmosphere with good prices and good drinks and food. The lava cake dessert was a pleasant surprise. Get it ala mode! For Thursday they have a 2/$15 burger special on Thursday s. You get a big crafted burger and a good helping of fries for $7.50. That's an amazing deal! The spicy bacon chicken sandwich was super fresh and delish! Highly recommend if you don't want something too heavy. Comes with all the fresh ingredients. Tomatoes, lettuce, onions, pickles, mayo on bun. This cafe makes awesome food!

My wife and I discontinued eating here several months ago after having an issue with a piece of…read moresashimi which was obviously mishandled. When I quietly brought the issue up to management, the server really didn't seem to care. Buyer beware. Please see the article release below. This is not the first time they have had fairly significant health safety violations. MOSES LAKE - A recent food safety inspection at Sumo Hibachi & Sushi in Moses Lake resulted in a score of 76, with multiple violations noted by inspectors from the Grant County Health District. The routine inspection, conducted April 15, 2026, identified several food safety concerns, including improper cooling procedures and temperature control issues that inspectors said could increase the risk of foodborne illness. Among the most serious violations, inspectors observed prepackaged noodles at 90 degrees stored in a walk-in cooler after being heat-treated but still sealed in packaging, preventing proper cooling. The report notes this "creates conditions favorable for the growth of harmful pathogens," and the noodles were voluntarily discarded during the inspection. Inspectors also found cooked eel being stored at room temperature--approximately 70 degrees--instead of being held at safe cold temperatures of 41 degrees or below. The report warned that improper storage of time/temperature control for safety (TCS) foods can lead to rapid bacterial growth and potential foodborne illness. Additional violations included missing date markings on salmon and beef removed from original packaging, incomplete parasite destruction records for certain fish, and improper storage of utensils, including tongs submerged in food. Staffing and certification issues were also noted. Following a change in management, inspectors found no employee with a certified food protection manager credential, which is required. In addition, one worker was found to have an invalid food worker card. According to the inspection report, several issues were corrected on-site, including the disposal of unsafe food and proper storage of utensils. Other violations were given correction deadlines, and a follow-up inspection has been scheduled for May 5, 2026. The health district emphasized proper cooling procedures in its report, stating that cooked foods must be cooled from 135 degrees to 70 degrees within two hours and then to 41 degrees or below within a total of six hours to prevent bacterial growth. Inspection records show this is not the first time the establishment has faced issues. Previous routine inspections scored 65 in September 2025 and 45 in February 2025, with follow-up inspections conducted after each.

They will cram you into seating on…read moretop of other people, in spite of there being lots of available space in the main dining area and claiming 'that section is closed' -- well, maybe they should OPEN it? With prices they charge they should bend over backwards to help customers and most interactions they seem to not enjoy their jobs. When you walk in the girls at the desk look at you and ask, 'Can I help you?' as if you're walking into a hair salon... what's wrong with these people? Service is poor quality, prices really high. The food is of below-average taste and looks. If you try one of the 'real' sushi restaurants (Seattle / Federal Way, etc), this place cannot come close and charges the same prices as Seattle and located in the middle of the desert! I heard there were some problems after recent inspection by the health department and not surprised.

I LOVE OUR LOCAL BUSINESSES. After we were done eating, I happily gave the waitress my VISA card along with the ticket and I gave a tip, because I know waitresses deserve tips for helping customers during this time, etc. As we were leaving to get in our cars, we were accused of taking the ticket and were humiliated INSIDE THE ESTABLISHMENT by one of the employees. I work in customer service and there is a difference between doing things the right way and being very inappropriate and disrespectful. I come here often and love coming to Paradise, their food is amazing, it's a hidden gem in Moses Lake. The waitress accused myself and my family of not wanting to sign and leave the ticket because she assumed we would file a dispute with my bank because they "get a lot of disputes". I've NEVER filed a dispute when going to a restaurant because small business owners deserve our business, to support themselves, their families, and their employees. I'm just trying to eat my meal, have a drink, and have a good time with my family. That's it. I've been to plenty of restaurants in our area and you can ask ANY employee or business owner, I'm nice to everyone I meet and I've never filed a dispute with my bank. She proceeded to be rude to myself, my Aunt, my Grandmother, and my Aunt in a very unprofessional manner. The manager came and was able to give me a ticket to sign, and apologized but the damage was done. I LOVE going to this restaurant but I won't return. I felt humiliated, disappointed, embarrassed, and shocked; I grew up with the idea that you work for everything you have; I'm thankful for everything I have, but to accuse me of wanting to file a dispute with my bank is so disappointing. I can afford to here, why would I eat and refuse to pay for what we ate, down the road? I was just here to eat, have a drink, and spend time with my family. I'm truly at a loss for words.
