This is my favorite coffee place. I live in south salt lake but I will drive to the bean yard just for the ambiance and the excellent quality coffee. They do a charcoal latte and feature locally baked goods to snack on. They roast in house and offer a monthly coffee subscription, all the while giving back to local Utah charities as well as hosting pop ups and barista competitions. My wife and I were very excited to find this shop/roastery in our neighborhood in South SLC. I'll try to give a quick rundown of what makes this place great. 1. They roast a small selection of single origins in-house. You can get a siphon or a V60, and both options taste great. Plus with less origins, you can tell they've put a lot of care into the quality of their beans and roasting. 2. They do offer a wider variety of espresso drinks. Tried their cappuccino and it was just the way I like it. 3. The decor and "feel" of the shop is spot-on. I believe they said the owners came from LA, so if you like the west coast vibe in your shop then you'll love this place. 4. Pastries were also delicious. 5. The staff were incredibly friendly. Everyone was excited to see us and was knowledgeable about the coffee and brewing processes. Anyone will feel at home here. read more

Great locally-owned coffee shop! Lots of open space with seating layout respecting social distance guidelines. We got their iced charcoal latte and vanilla latte. Both drinks were delicious! I recently moved into the neighborhood around where this coffee shop is located. When I saw a local coffee shop was in the area, I had to give it a try. I was 100% amazed! Finally, a local coffee shop that not only has amazing coffee, the atmosphere is top par, they offer great breakfast sandwiches, and the owner is super friendly! What a great find this was for me. I have been passing by this place for the last year or so, but only because I never knew it was there! My wife mentioned she wanted to try something called "Macha Tea", and we couldn't seem to find a place that had it. So Bean Yard popped up as having it, then we went over. I had NO idea there was even a shopping center in that lot, it's very hidden unless you're looking for it. Fantastic ambiance, great tea (I had the iced Black Tea, wife had the Macha), and the staff is so sweet. I mean they are REALLY nice. They don't put off that, "I'm slammed so tell me what you want, because there's a line of people I have to deal with" kind of feeling. They answered so many of our stupid questions with patience and a smile. I just came back the other day, because I had some work to do, and I needed that ambiance so that I could concentrate. It was just what I needed! Not too many tables there (all were taken), but they have a very long wood bar with stools so I sat up there. The stools were small and metal seats, so not very comfortable, but it served its purpose. Would be perfect if they could get some soft cushioned stools (maybe with backs?)! Highly recommend this place, definitely worth the drive over! A++ all the way! read more

As a business traveler I have found that finding speciality coffee in Utah outside of Salt Lake is quite the challenge, but The Bean Yard Coffee House is legit. A great selection of beans, brew methods, and drinks to choose from. I ordered an 12 oz Americano and the Barista was kind enough to throw in an freshly pulled leftover extra shot from the patron before me who opted for a single shot drink. The coffee was sweet and mellow with a flavor that reminded me of Graham Crackers. I would be interested to know the origin of their beans and how the roaster would describe the flavor profile. The beans on the shelf were mostly fresh roasted within a few days/weeks. There were a few offerings that were a little too far past the roast date for me. I picked up a bag of El Salvador that was 7 days off roast and while I'm still dialing in my grind for the coffee the first 2 cups I brewed in the v60 have come out great. I was impressed by the space and while I didn't get a chance to ask it appears that in addition to roasting their own beans on premises they also teach coffee classes. Which to someone who's interested in coffee is something I really appreciate. It's a little out of the way from where my clients are located but was well worth the detour. read more

They have a great lemon cream cheese Danish that they were out of today so I went with the almond Danish twist warmed up..... when I got it it wasn't warmed it was actually cold and hard. Not even a bit warmed. Very bad replacement for the lemon danish. I will not be doing that again! read more
