I was looking through this lovely shop and settled on two succulents and a pretty blue glass planter...but had no way to turn this into a gift. The kind owner was describing the kind of soil I would need to get, and then I flat out asked her if she would be able to set it all up in a finished form for me to have a gift ready when I got to my daughter's house...and she said yes! This darling shop is a great addition to the Portland crafting scene, offering a wide variety of…read morematerials needed for sewing and quilting projects. The staff are very knowledgeable, and provided me with information on several projects my partner and I are currently working on. The owner, Zachariah, is a font of knowledge, with years of experience in the industry. Located in the Arbor Lodge neighborhood, Sewlarium is a bit of a drive for me, but I'm happy to support small businesses striving to serve their communities. This store is clean, well lighted, and surprisingly well-stocked for such a small footprint. I was able to find several yards of beautiful jersey material that I can't wait to make some shirts from. There is plenty of street parking in front of the business, and on the side street as well. If you're making a trek to visit this store from elsewhere in Portland like me, consider yourself in for a treat because there are some great restaurants and coffee shops in the area. (Not to mention Mike's Drive-In across the street!)
