The hostess, waitress and the rest of the workers welcomed me with a smile from the moment i stepped in. I was able to choose my own spot outside. The food was tasty and the service was fast. I asked the waitress for a recommendation on the wine and her suggestion in not disappoint! This is a great spot to come to if you're in the area!

Heard from friends this was a nice restaurant in Summerland, BC. Decided to drop in, just the two of us, without a reservation. I guess this was a bit much for the hostess as she was somewhat rude, unless you were a regular then her demeanour changed, oh well. There were lots of empty tables so not sure of the issue. Anyway, waitress was very attentive and pleasant, she had quite a few tables that were now beginning to fill up yet managed to attend to all with a smile. We liked that we weren't rushed, for a change the entree was not served immediately following our appetizer, time to chat. Dinner was excellent, I had the Salmon with Mango Salsa and my hubby had the Prime Rib which he quite enjoyed, even commented that it was one of the best he has had. We will definitely return.

I loved the outdoor decor of the patio. It was romantic and cozy all at the same time. They have an outdoor awning made of vines that surrounds you as you eat, I haven't seen something so stunning in a long time. We had to get Sumac Ridge to go with the theme of Summerland. It was great wine as usual. I think the ambience made it better because it tasted like liquid gold. For appys we had the bruschetta and the tomato and parmesan salad. For dinner I went with the classic fettuccine alfredo which was delicious. I actually ate every bite (well, mostly, my partner had some too). For dinner we had delicious pecan pie. The perfect end to a magical meal. I felt very lucky to be relaxing having dinner in such a beautiful place. Service was friendly and nice. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Excellent food. Does not try to impress with presentation and instead focuses on perfectly made food.

We booked a Happy Hour reservation for the long Sunday Easter long weekend at 4:30pm and we were the first to arrive. As Salt & Brick has an evolving fresh sheet menu, you never know what's on the menu but they usually have a few staples like their Brussel sprouts. As this was my boyfriend's first time here, we ordered the Brussell sprouts with popcorn and the Rigatoni. We were given the regular menu but did inquire about Happy Hour and the Brussel sprouts, pastas, and charcuterie board were on special. Unfortunately, they didn't have any oysters available that day. Small cozy atmosphere with a cute front porch. It's a small bar and kitchen that you can see and wonderful that you see and hear all the food being freshly made to order. Our server was friendly, chatty, and attentive but also gave us our space too. The Brussel sprouts served with cheddar popcorn, grapes, and ripped beer cheese is a bit salty, sweet, and so satisfying! My partner doesn't love Brussel sprouts but really enjoyed this dish. The Rigatoni was a bit rich with a nettle became sauce but served with the earthy lily spears, it was a well rounded dish altogether that we also enjoyed. Cute restaurant on the Downtown main strip that isn't a major chain, which is refreshing. Will continue to visit next time in town and hopefully they will have oysters then!

We took advantage of the opportunity and ordered the sashimi and tataki, both of which were melt in your mouth delicious! The pork chop with apricots was a unique menu item that pleasantly surprised all our taste buds!

Entering Intermezzo, we were asked if there was a special occasion that brought us in. We told them it was our birthday dinner. Upon being escorted to our table, we arrived to find a Happy Birthday sign had been placed on the table. The evening just got better from there. We shared two appies, escargot and bruschetta, a bottle of Ancient Hills Pino Baco, then our entrees. My wife absolutely loved the Ahi Tuna, while I devoured an amazing Moroccan Rack of Lamb, both of which were prepared to perfection. We finished off sharing their signature Black and White Creme Brule. Our server, Jess was an absolute delight, listening to a couple of old fogies stories, and offeriing to take our picture as a momento of the evening. Intermezzo has become our absolute must go to for future birthday dinners. A phenomenal evening.

There are not many vegetarian options but one can get by with a pasta. They have a good wine selection and some very good wines from a related small production wine maker. The space has a main dining room and a bar. On both occasions we were seated in the bar which I found a bit strange. The lighting is rather on the dark side but not extreme. Everyone was happy with the food.

Our servers on both occasions were highlights, attentive yet also leaving us be. Last night it was just K and I and the previous visit there were five of us outside on the patio. The space is nicely decorated but has no real charm or ambiance, which is understandable in a big hotel. The menu is extensive enough that you should be able to find something to meet the needs of your palate while here, but there are many choices within walking distance that may be a better choice of you are looking for a specific culinary experience. If you don't want to leave the hotel, you shouldn't be disappointed with your choice. Our food while not amazing during each visit was solid, and well presented. It might be a little on the higher end cost wise, but what isn't these days. Given all the choices in the neighbourhood within a short stroll, you may want to explore, but also understand the best choice might be in the hotel you're staying at.
