Checked out Zias Stonehouse Restaurant. They're close to Peacock's Perch Pub. We dropped in for a Thursday lunch (1:15pm). The inside is massive with a quaint outdoor area. 99% of the customers were of retirement age. Decor is eclectic and seating you'd find at your grandma's house. Lunch menu is a great deal ($15.00) with 6 mainstays and four specials. There's dinner feasts for two ($70.00-$80.00). - Almond lemon sole ($15.00) - sole was lightly breaded. Lemon herb cream sauce was subtle. Good mix of vegetables (red cabbage, carrot and asparagus). Rice was more filler than flavour. - Lunch apricot chicken ($15.00) - breast was moist, but apricot ginger sauce was mundane. Can't beat the value at ZSR. 3.5 stars. read more

Zias Stonehouse is historical and whimsical, and truly enjoy the atmosphere for lunch on the patio with friends. The menu offers salads, dips, sandwiches, burgers, pasta and mains with chicken, beef & pork. A bit of everything to suit everyone. I had the daily special which was fish and my friends had the Penne Primavera and Chicken Champignon. In tasting the Penne, I though it was not not seasoned well but my friend liked it. However, the other two mains were very tasty and served with local fresh veggies. We were full but just couldn't pass up the opportunity to try the Tiramisu. So we ordered one with three spoons. The Tiramisu is light and not overly sweet so perfect for us. Been informed the Tiramisu was not made on site but it came in from a neighbouring town. We sat on the large patio and there were many patio umbrellas to provide sun protection. One section has tables under a beautiful trellis full of grape leaves and some grapes. Service was welcoming, prompt and friendly. Will certainly be back when I visit Summerland again. The beautiful stone house was built by Alfredo Biagioni in 1916 and is designated as an architectural heritage site. The stone walls are 18 inches thick. According to locals, they believe the house is haunted-but the place is still very busy with locals so go and enjoy. read more

Food was excellent! We had pesto prawn linguine and the Apricot ginger chicken. Both dishes were excellent, cooked perfectly! At first I was disappointed I didn't see any pasta in the minestrone soup but it was so flavorful I didn't miss it a bit. Even the garlic toast was great. This was a nice surprise. One of the nicer Restaurants I have been to in this area. Table clothes and good service. Limited menu but what they serve they serve a lot of! I had the small Caesar and plenty for two. The salad was fresh greens, well tossed in their own dressing and very good. Also had the French onion soup which was excellent and lots of it. The crouton on top a nice piece of toast! We had their pork tenderloin medallions which they prepared in a wonderful sauce and fettuccine Alfredo was simply perfect! Only thing to make this a better experience would have been some fresh ground pepper for the salad and some fresh cheese for the Alfredo. (But that's just me!) Service was fast and trendily. Only complaint we ordered and appetizer and it didn't come until the salads and soup! Could have done without it at that point! The hostess, waitress and the rest of the workers welcomed me with a smile from the moment i stepped in. I was able to choose my own spot outside. The food was tasty and the service was fast. Heard from friends this was a nice restaurant in Summerland, BC. Decided to drop in, just the two of us, without a reservation. I guess this was a bit much for the hostess as she was somewhat rude, unless you were a regular then her demeanour changed, oh well. There were lots of empty tables so not sure of the issue. Anyway, waitress was very attentive and pleasant, she had quite a few tables that were now beginning to fill up yet managed to attend to all with a smile. We liked that we weren't rushed, for a change the entree was not served immediately following our appetizer, time to chat. Dinner was excellent, I had the Salmon with Mango Salsa and my hubby had the Prime Rib which he quite enjoyed, even commented that it was one of the best he has had. I loved the outdoor decor of the patio. It was romantic and cozy all at the same time. They have an outdoor awning made of vines that surrounds you as you eat, I haven't seen something so stunning in a long time. We had to get Sumac Ridge to go with the theme of Summerland. It was great wine as usual. I think the ambience made it better because it tasted like liquid gold. For appys we had the bruschetta and the tomato and parmesan salad. For dinner I went with the classic fettuccine alfredo which was delicious. I actually ate every bite (well, mostly, my partner had some too). For dinner we had delicious pecan pie. The perfect end to a magical meal. I felt very lucky to be relaxing having dinner in such a beautiful place. Service was friendly and nice. We really enjoyed ourselves. read more

Just ok. Zia's Stonehouse is a lovely place. The building is very pretty on the outside and ok on the inside. There are several areas in which to sit. There are areas both inside and outside. Make sure to make reservations, because it can get very busy. Our waitress was very nice. Our waters were filled often. The large Caesar salad we shared was good, but the dressing wasn't very caesar like. It was still a good salad and the lettuce was super fresh and delicious. My scallops were good but there was so much sauce on them and the rice, they were drowning. The veggies that came with my scallops were good and really saved my meal for me. I wouldn't get the scallops again. Other family members really enjoyed their extremely rare prime rib (ordered that way). The dessert menu was pretty limited and even though I love dessert, I didn't get anything. I tried the banana cheesecake pastry dessert and it was so-so. Overall the food is only "ok" and nothing special. There are limited choices in Summerland for a nice evening out and this is a a decent option. Come here for a nice night out but don't get too excited about being "wow-ed" by the food. We didn't have any issues with our evening, but we all remarked that we thought that several of the waitresses and other staff had on overly small outfits. There was one girl (teen) that was filling water wearing a skirt that was barely bigger than a belt. While eating at a restaurant that many of the patrons dress up for (and tend to be older), skimpy outfits just don't work and are tacky. read more

Been here many times, as the tourist flood the area June & July avoid this and every place in the okanagan during the summer! We got our meal recently during tourist time with a heat lamp crust on top. The garlic toast was dry and stale. Was told there is 4 pieces of garlic toast....that's one slice cut in 4! They really skimp and mail it in during the tourist season....see you in October? Need a locals only place!?! . read more

Delicious food here, and they have a piano player which makes for a nice evening out. It has a nice home feel to it, like you're having dinner at Grandma's house. Definitely my favourite restaurant in Summerland! They have nice outdoor seating in the summer too. read more

Pros: delicious local wine and great service. Cons: the food was only meh. We got bruschetta as an appetizer and they cooked the tomatoes on it and put melted cheese on top - think expensive pizza toast. We also got some fettuccini Alfredo which was not so creamy and more like a western cheesy pasta thing that was mediocre at best. We also got the prime rib which was delicious but served well done (when ordered medium rare) - the rest of the plate had delish veg and rice though. The dessert was not a molten lava cake, but a cold chocolate lake inside sub-par chocolate cake. We came because of all the good reviews and thought it was worth sharing this not-so-sparkling experience. $90 later, we were not impressed by the food. read more

Lovely location, great food, separate gluten-free menu, which was much appreciated. Good wine list and a nice shaded patio for a hot day. I was there for lunch on a weekday the first week of September and sat outside with family. Inside was fun to see - it's a gorgeous house. Would have loved to go for dinner. This place is not that great. The waiter was very shy and didn't talk much. She didn't take our order for a while but that's understandable because they seemed to be low on staff. We ordered our food and it was pretty mediocre. Mine was fine but my moms pasta was cold and VERY over cooked. She ate probably two bites and when we informed the waiter she said "ok" and that was that. No offer for new food or to remove it from the bill. I thought that was very poor. Food was good but nothing special, I ordered the Scallops, which were tasty, however I found mushroom wine sauce on top a bit over powering, I would order it on the side next time. The rice was so-so, side of a few potato wedges and seasonal bland vegetables, as well as stewed cabbage and squash. Dessert was my favourite part, being a pecan pie with a flaky crust, and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Delicious! Service was okay but nothing great. We entered and what appeared to be the owner of the restaurant, un-energetically sat us at our table, with no smile or happy greeting. However, our waitress was the opposite with energy, yet felt rushed at our table each time she came around. One bus girl wore a spaghetti strap tank top, with her bra exposed. The waitress also hit on my fiancé which I found highly inappropriate as we were trying to enjoy a nice family meal. The pianist created a nice ambiance as well as the lit candles. The building itself is nice and has a historic feel which creates a memorable experience. There was one moment where a flying object hit and broke a glass at a table of 4 next to us. Apparently there's a ghost in the building and after that experience I wouldn't deny it! Overall this is a semi-decent restaurant with a large menu that caters to most with reasonable prices. French onion soup was very, very good. Excellent onion flavor in the broth, but light on identifiable onions. Nice chunk of french bread and generous amount of cheese in the soup bowl. Served piping hot and bubbling. Penne primavera and fettuccine alfredo were tasty, but short on salt and seasonings. Portions of pasta and sauce were large. Hubby and I both brought home half of the entre. The server suggested a local chardonnay which paired well with the meal. We plan to visit the winery tomorrow and pick up a couple bottles for our cellar. We topped off the meal with a lighter than air tiramisu. Yummy! Served with whipped cream on the side. I ordered a Thai Chicken and got 3 - 1 inch x 2 inch pieces on it for $23. The rest was just rice and sauce. Sent it back and got the shrimp chicken. Its like the food was cooked under a heat lamp. The garlic bread had a fish after taste. I really regret going here for dinner, to be blunt I want my money back. It was never like this. Covid or no Covid, Zias is an echo of its former self. My wife and I were invited to Zia's for dinner by some friends. The blond gal serving us was nothing short of rude and dismissive with our table. My wife enjoyed her Salmon but my steak was a joke. After being asked how I'd like my steak, medium rare, I was shocked with the half inch thick (8oz, if the earth suddenly doubled in gravity) steak. It was too thin to ever be cooked to order. $24 for, and I'm being generous, $6 worth of product. It was our third time there and it hasn't improved. Too bad! read more
