Wish I had checked out the reviews first... I was not impressed at all. The issues are numerous. First, I have no confidence that any of the tools were sterilized... one was pulled from a cup with pieces of other peoples' cuticles floating in it. Second, it was a very rough manicure and left me bleeding in three places (I see that others have noted this). Third, I got a dip manicure and the woman doing it was obviously perplexed as to what topcoat to use. Three days later, the top layer of my manicure is peeling off?? Fourth, I think it's weird that they don't have pedicure chairs and you just stick your foot in someone's lap. Fifth, without waiting for my toes to dry, she shoved my foot into my sandals and several nails are messy as a result. On the plus side, the woman I spoke to on the phone was very nice. Truly I hate leaving negative reviews and don't ever do so. But when you feel wronged, you feel wrong. Especially in COVID times, im especially reluctant to write a negative review but in this case I feel it is necessary. I will preface this that the nail techs I've had the 3 times I've been have been great. Especially Christina, really sweet and skilled! However: on the window it literally says "mani pedi: $24.99" (photos attached of said window). Not one mention of any kind of "special deal". When I went to pay, the manager/owner/receptionist/unclear told me it was $29.99. I clearly looked confused, because I was. Why did the window say a different price? She then proceeds to give me some spew about that being a "members" price (????) and how the first two times there I was given the members price but now i don't qualify for that price (???? x 2). She then starts scrambling to find brochures/fliers that would corroborate what she was telling me .... but funny enough, she couldn't. They all said $24.99. I literally stood in silence waiting for her to rectify the situation but it was more important to her to charge me the extra $5. Basic customer service skills would be her seeing my utter confusion and seeing how turned off I was, and honoring the price ON THE WINDOW. Instead, she continued to beat a dead horse and further explain their membership pricing and seemed very insistent on explaining herself. Strange. Anyways, I won't be back. A shame because I live in the area and I'm always looking for new spots. In more constructive criticism, I suggest she wears her mask properly over her nose as that has the potential to make customers really uncomfortable - myself included. I wouldn't have written that part in the review but unfortunately a friend of mine went last week and politely asked her twice to fix her mask.... to no avail. Im going to try to not write a paragraph, all I will say is the ladies who did my nails and eyebrow and lashes are great women... I think. Although I went there for te flyer specials and somehow was up charged. So, I asked for the classics apparently she did hybrid without me even knowing ( I'm a lash artist myself this didnt seem like hybrids at all). I mentioned to her I had a brow appointment else how much longer and she offered to do them. I was hesitant at first but I knew I wasn't going to make it so I took her offer... I came home and actually had to clean my own brows up and spent an hour so with pill on them to get them from being so dark. for my nails I went for a dip wrap, because the person who does acrylic wasn't there she cut my nails so short she had to put tips and they put the dip on top of it ???? Why cut my nails off to then put tips of the length of my actual nails back? At the end I paid all these up charges and this horrible experience because I deserved it after seeing so many negative reviews I said let me give them a chance and after receiving not good service I continued to get the rest hoping it'll be better. I went back the next day to see if she can fill my lashes and she told me she was leaving to come back in 3 days... So I just never went back and removed them at home and tinted and lifted my own lashes. She thought the fix up I did to my brows it was her lol Moral of the story when you see an establishment doesn't have good reviews don't think you'll be the one to have a different experience. If you're looking for your hair and nail dream team, look no further. Sunni for gel mani/ pedi and acrylic is phenomenal. She's extremely detailed, friendly and fast. Navia for blow drys is a rockstar. I have curly hair and she makes my hair look healthy, shiny with the right amount of bounce and volume. The owner Laura always makes you feel as though you're walking into her home not just another salon. All 3 ladies are genuinely caring and always engaging. I live in the area and decided to give The Beauty Bar Midtown a try. Their window advertises a gel manicure + regular pedicure for $39.99, and who am I to say no to such a deal? Unfortunately, they did not honor these prices. I would have given them two stars, but I was overcharged and paid around $62 after tip. I have been getting gel manicures for over a decade now and know the process pretty well. I did notice that my nail technician decided to cut a few corners, which resulted in the polish peeling off each finger on my right hand within 72 hours. Usually, when gel comes off without a soak, it will result in the nail bed being taken off, but it was as if I had stickers on. Which demonstrates how poorly she applied the gel polish. I would be less upset if the manicure itself was nice and I could paint them at home, but the cuticles look sloppy. Due to her roughness, I had multiple cuts on my fingers. The nail tech was quite dismissive and didn't really seem to care that I was in her chair. Nonetheless, I believe they are a relatively new salon and know that these are just growing pains! I've come here a few times and although I walked away with nice nails- the hassle of making an appointment is not worth it. Each time I have come here either the manicurist was late, my confirmed appt was not in the books, or they were extremely late for my confirmed appointment (which I called an hour prior to triple confirm). On one occasion (today) I actually showed up and they were late and I was told I would be called within 40 minutes. It's been an hour and I have not even been called. Went in as a walk in to get my gel polish removed and got a regular nail polish as well. I had a lady Diana do my nails and will not be going back. First I felt like she was not being sanitary in that she didn't change the towel on the table from the last person that was there so I tried not touching the towel the whole time. Then she was so rough when cutting back the cuticles that she made one of my fingers bleed. Not only that but when I was waiting with the gel remover on my fingers she was waiting there in front of me chewing on her own nails. She also just sprayed the tools to clean instead of getting a new set that was properly sanitized. I wish I would have said something but I'm not someone who likes confrontation and also I think she only spoke Spanish which would have made it difficult for me to say something. Stay away from this place... I went to get my haircut, the woman who did it, had no clue how to cut hair... it all started when she washed my hair, she got me completely wet. Then, I showed her how I wanted my hair and the length... we discussed how much she would cut and she ended up doing what she pleased instead of following my directions... she ended cutting triple of what we agreed... when I saw the final result I was in shock. I can't believe this place has someone in charge of cutting hair with zero experience... I ended up paying because I hate scandals but OMG please listen to me and don't step a foot in this place :( read more

I first off want to start by saying, I live one building over from where they are located and I was SO EXCITED when I saw they opened as it's a one stop shop for everything beauty from your hair to your lashes, nails and facials.. So I figured instead of having to drive all over town to go to a few different salons, I now could do all my beauty treatments in one place and it's one block from my place! You CAN'T beat that! So I walked into the Beauty Bar after my yoga class today at 3 pm to schedule an appointment to get my lashes and nails done. I told the woman I wanted to come at 5 pm bc I had to go home to shower and finish some work for the day. The woman asked if I could come in at 4 pm and I said no bc like I said before I had to shower (I mean hello, I just took an hour hot yoga class.. gross!) and finish up some work for the day or how else could I pay them? LOL! The woman at the desk said, just make sure you are on time please so we can ensure we have time to do both. I said no problem. I was on time. I get there and they have me waiting for almost FORTY MINUTES to start my service. Then she starts my service and halfway thru she leaves the room for 10/15 minutes and I see it's because she was doing someone else's eyebrows... The terrible customer service DOESN'T end there either.. The lady finishes my lashes and they proceed to tell me they can't do my nails now bc they are closing and don't have the time but they could reschedule me for tomorrow.. Like WOW! Do they think I would EVER go back there after that experience? NOT A CHANCE! Maybeee if they had offered me a discount or SOMETHING like a free service (like a brow wax or something inexpensive like that) I would have been willing to go back there and NOT leave this kind of review but no.. They offered me NOTHING for THIER TERRIBLE customer service and scheduling! I was ready to spend THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS there as I was going to have them redo my hair (which I get my hair bleached blonde with 22" extensions) on top of I get WEEKLY blow outs, my nails & lashes done every two weeks, as well as monthly facials.. They just lost one of the best & loyal customers they EVER would have had.. So good job for a place that JUST opened.. Continue treating customers like that and you will have no business bc who does that? I have a degree in business and NOTHINGGG irritates me more than bad customer service!
