I make my appointments using the Yelp app for The Beauty Room in Mililani's website. I like that Ada has her own room off to the side of the row of recliners ( more privacy) but today I could hear someone's high heels clacking back and forth during my entire session. There was also oldies music playing in the background that I recognized. You have your eyes shut the entire time after your eyes have tape applied. Today Ada finished in about 43 minutes which is super fast. This was not a retouch but a full new set applied. Ada is very pretty and gentle with a light touch. First time I noticed her fingers weren't cold during the service. Very glad I was in and out so quickly. You're not supposed to get your lashes wet for 5 hours. I was prepared with a Tokidoki hat, umbrella and windbreaker in my tote. Darn Kona Low Storm wasn't going to ruin my new set of lashes. I really wanted to have a good experience here, especially since my waxer was very sweet and polite. But unfortunately, my Brazilian wax left me pretty disappointed, traumatized and uncomfortable. My appointment was scheduled for 5:30 PM, but I wasn't taken in until 5:45 and was done by 6:15. I was surprised to be charged $80, even though the service was listed as $70 online and only lasted 30 minutes. I didn't realize the price difference till my cousin brought it up after I told her how much I've paid including the tip. I understand charging if the appointment was going over time, but it did not. The wax used felt way too hot and left me with a burning, stinging sensation that continued even hours later. I've had Brazilian waxes before and never felt this level of discomfort. Now, weeks later, I'm still dealing with itchy skin and painful ingrown hairs. I reached out through Instagram hoping to talk to someone directly, but I haven't heard back. It is very clean and modern with great decor. The employees here are always friendly and welcoming. The location has a lot of parking but can be busy as well. If you need your lashes done, see Kathy! Let me just say the service was great, Tommy has great costumer service. Unfortunately, he doesn't wax eyebrows great. He probably does better in other services. My eyebrows don't even match. i used to have my lashes done at another establishment at Kapolei...anyways my favorite lash tech had to go back home to Vietnam to care for her elderly parents-there was another lash tech but her schedule wasn't flexible and was only servicing lash extensions on weekdays only. I did a lot of researching I even considered going back to the old-fashioned applying your own false eyelashes with the dang glue but it doesn't stay well and most store brought eyelashes are not the right size where you have to cut it a little. Pity me I wasn't born with long lashes but I have impossible "Asian" style lashes that stay flat regardless of curling them with the eyelash curler; I tried those mascara to lift your lashes but most times it ends up on my eyelid not on my eyelashes and it didn't look natural but clumpy and messy! So after doing some research I came across The Beauty Room at Mililani - I live in Mililani but it never crossed my mind - I kept passing by the shop when I needed to do errands. Anyways, I've been coming here for almost 2 years now. My lash tech (John) he is so awesome. Super friendly - the rest of the staff are friendly also! John does a very good job with my lashes I am so at ease (tranquil and zenful) when he is working on my lash retouches - he is so gentle you can't even feel him applying/removing lashes. I enjoy talking to him while he works his magic - if I don't make small talk I probably be snoring away (LOL). My daughter accidentally made her appointment for the Kapolei location so as soon as they opened she called and asked to have her location switched to Mililani. When she checked in she told them what happened and that she had an appointment time. The gentleman told her to have a seat. She saw 3 people come in and leave while she waited. When she asked about her time slot some woman told her "oh sorry, I'll take you now". Long story short daughter got burned not once but 3 times.... Story time, cousin. I had my lash extensions taken off about a month ago. Here's the background- I had a fill (I had volume lashes) and there was an issue with my eyes not being the same shape; one was round and one was almond. Ada had me come in the next day and worked on it. It still wasn't quite right but I figured I would sleep on it and make sure it wasn't my imagination. I ended up having them taken off. I made an appointment with the receptionist for 9am the next day with Tommy. Before you ask me, let me tell you that I did not receive a refund for the lashes I just paid to have filled. It's important to know the owners do not give refunds. Their sign even says if you have an allergic reaction there is no refund, but they won't charge you to take them off. Wow, right?? Okay, back to it... When I went in they said I didn't have an appointment. What?? Yeah... so I don't know what happened but I had to come back later in the afternoon. I need to say this... Ada is an excellent technician. I easily recommend her to anyone who asks recommendations for lash extensions and I would 100% go back to her. Yes, I know she had my eyes uneven but she is human. Moving on... Fast forward a month. I missed my lashes. They really made a difference in my appearance. They aren't cheap though, right? So...I tried... and I mean TRIED falsies. I hadn't been that frustrated in a long time. LoL! I decided to take the plunge (again). This time I am keeping it all natural. Classic ellipse, baby! They are where it's at for me. I have been a frequent customer of the Beauty Room since they were based out in Ewa Beach. I recently got a new lash set, and a few hours after the service upon brushing my lashes a ton came out (See Attached Picture). Never having complained in the YEARS I was going here I called to coordinate my lashes to be touched up after paying 200 dollars and them not lasting for a measly four hours, pretty reasonable if you ask me. To my surprise I was greeted with an attitude and was told I would have to pay to have them fixed long story short. I was brushed off and contact was cut. They have gotten more customer base and don't care about anything other then income completely abandoning any values of customer service. To do this to a customer who has spent thousands, thousands. Update (from 3 to 4 stars) Amy fixed my lashes within 24hours since the unhappy lashwork, she took me in for urgent resolution same day of call. I am happy with the luscious set and Amy's supportive customer service. She was understanding and clear and provided examples to help me decide and it was a great decision. Sending new check-in photo smiling. The only issue I have was during her technique of pressing on my eyeballs with her fingers when applying lash to my lid, haha. If you cannot tolerate -- ask to have the eyes taped up :) -------------- (updated above) Never elipse lash again for round eyes -- especially for cat eye. If this is how they are suppose to be, I dont want them. Recommend: Stick to "fans" for cat eyes like the luscious or volume set. And the sizing does not work to do 9 and 11s. Which is what John did because i wanted smallest length possible. These look huge!! Not practical and I was clear from beginning I like small natural look with cat eye. Service: John provided friendly and courteous customer service, even when we had to take awhile to add more lashes. He did well to avoid my ends of my lid as requested because my bottom lash likes to curl with my top lash. There was an undesireable gap in other areas of my eyes so the tech had to add more afterward. TBH John is kind but has bad attention to detail....and lash service needs HIGH attention to detail. As well as eye shape expertise (I have round eyes, I made it clear I am unsure of this new set and when I asked for photos I was not provided the photos to help my decision... John was helping me decide but whatever the decision it did not have desired shape. Anyway when service was done I looked and literally said to him I'm unhappy how they look! John responded by giving compliments about them that they look great -- but it was bad -- big up top when I already have round eyes and he said 9 was the smallest length. Definitely do not like the thickness either just makes it all the more noticeable and blotchy. Honestly, John needs more training on unique eye lash design expertise for individual eyes -- everyone's eyes shape different so lashes need to be place different or different sizing variation for the desired look. round eyes need to skip like 2-4 sizes for affect not just skipping 1 size. Pretty much threw away $160 ($145+tip).... because I'm ready to go somewhere else. :( Unless Amy can help? :) GOOD NEWS: I asked for them to be redone, and Amy is more than ready to help me out! I highly recommend making an appointment and making sure you're making the appointment for the right location. They have a second location in Kapolei and I had accidentally made one of my appointments for the Kapolei location, thinking it was at the Mililani location. *Prices vary depending on when you get your refill. Also, they will not refill lashes that they have not applied. This was explained to me prior to my appointment, which I appreciated. They recommended removing my lashes that I got while in California and replacing it with their lashes. I had my appointment with Tommy and he was great! He took the time to explain the lash sizes and lengths to me and was very friendly. My lashes came out great! I wanted to get my eyebrows waxed. An hour after I left I noticed the burns under my eyebrows. They hurt so bad. I went back to get a refund. They told me that I had a reaction to the wax which was obviously not true. They were clearly burns but they didn't want to admit the fault on their end. Went in for a quick eyebrow wax. The gentleman asked "just clean them up?" I told him "yes but I don't want them too thin". He destroyed my eyebrow not only are they not the same shape as other but they are no longer even the same length. one is shorter than the other so much that I have to draw my eyebrow, which I didn't want to do. But the kicker is that isn't short at the end it's short in the middle. When I said why did you wax all of this off..He told me to match each other, but sir they don't at all!!! And the shape is terrible now. His answer to me was but the rest of your eyebrows shape is beautiful. No sir again it's not. Even after he saw how upset I was I was still charged full price. Now I don't even know if my eyebrows are going to grow back correctly. The kicker when I was leaving after I said I don't like to draw my eyebrows in..Oh you can get ombré down. No thats why when I came in my eyebrows were fuller because I don't want to do that to my brows. And I asked that he not make them thin or take too much off. I got the Volume set by Ada and she is the best y'all! Never have I been asked what length/ curl size/ style I wanted until I came here. She made my lashes look so full that I can't wait to go back for my refill already LOL. I personally had a really great experience with May who did my lashes. I came here because the original lashes I received (on Thursday 04/11/19) by another provider did a botch job. After the third day, half the lashes had already fallen off and my bottom lashes were glued to my top lashes at the outer corner of my eye (ouch). I made an appointment for 04/15/19 2:00pm initially for a touch up. I didn't realize they don't do touch ups from other providers but they let me know they can do a removal of the lashes if I wanted to. I opted to have the original lashes removed and a new set put in. May was so sweet and so so patient when putting in my lashes. She asked me a few times what length I wanted and even showed me an example of the different lengths of lashes on a palette comparing the lengths. She even made sure I was completely comfortable before starting and asked me what style I wanted to do. I let her know what I wanted (as natural as possible and 13mm length). She was also great at making me feel comfortable through the removal of the original set and let me every step of what she was doing. May was also great at having a conversation. She was just so sweet and patient. I really enjoyed how gentle she worked on my lashes. I will definitely come back to see May. I highly recommend her! read more

My boyfriend had his appointment around 10am. He had a male worker waxed his eyebrow. He specifically told him that he wanted to wax just to clean up. No shaping or thinning at all. At the end of the service he left dissatisfied with the service.The male worker took more than just a regular clean up. Linda took my sister right on time for her appointment. It was her first time getting lashes done and Linda was very good at finding out what kind of lashes my sister was going for, explaining and giving examples of the different lengths of each lash. Linda made my sister feel very comfortable making conversation and letting her know what to expect. Her attention to detail was much appreciated. I knew 2018 was going to be a great year when I heard that The Beauty Room now has a location in Mililani Shopping Center right across from CPK. Lots of parking in the lot so you don't have to fight over parking. Personally, I love coming to The Beauty Room because they do such a wonderful job with my eyelash extensions. Each session usually takes up to an hour for a full set & they make sure every visit is relaxing and comfortable for you, so sit back and allow these professionals pamper you! I recommend going to Amy or Kimmy. My go-to would be their Full Volume set (full/long/dramatic) or their Lucious set (full/soft/fluffy), it just depends on what occasion is coming up within the month then I'll be able to decide how I like my lashes. Don't forget to ask for your complimentary eyelash brush so you can keep up and maintain the quality of your lashes. As for lash-beginners, if you want to know the difference between classic or volume, don't hesitate to ask these professionals on what's best for you. This is my second time going to the Mililani Beauty Room to do my lashes and I would say it was a better experience than my first time. The first time I did my lashes my eyeballs started to burn while the lady was applying the lashes on my lash line. I went home feeling great, sexy and confident with a little redness. The next day I woke up with my whole two eyeballs bloodshot, it felt tender and swollen with pain. I tired clear eyes but that thing burnt my eyes even more (it felt like acid was being poured into my eyeballs). I called the beauty room and found out it was the glue that affected my eyes. Anyways, the redness, tenderness, and pain went away in 4 days. I went back a week and half to retouch. I booked an appointment online that same day and I picked whatever tech was available. I went in and Mai was the tech that did my eyelashes. She was nice and sweet and I told her about my first experience and she was aware about it.
