I hadn't touched a steering wheel since I totaled my old junker 15 years ago. Between that and being in multiple wrecks as a passenger I'd been terrified of driving ever since. Somewhere along the way I started saying "I can't drive" rather than "I don't drive". As it turns out I'm doing at least a little better than I thought and I've made great progress in a short time. I even rented a car and drove all over town for a day- something I'd never done before and never thought I would. I'm learning so much more than I ever learned in Driver's Ed at my poor high school (they graduated students who couldn't read a newspaper) or from my parents. Lawrence at least makes some effort but does not have a true full-fledged public transit system. (There's no service at all on Sundays just for example.) It's nothing like Chicago or even Milwaukee. If you've never been without a car for years on end anywhere in (most of) the Midwest then I probably can't explain what it's really like. It's like some kind of second or third class citizenship. You have to have a car or at least be able to drive here. There's just no way around it. Now I can say instead just that "I don't have a car", which is certainly a step up, and I'm working on that. I'll have a down payment February if not sooner. It's a big step forward and I could not have done it without excellent, professional, patient, and highly effective instruction.

She is a power hungry self centered person who only cares about the money involved. I came to her excited and so ready to be apart of the school. Teachers would leave all the time. Must be nice he has so much business that he can be rude to people. I called the school to schedule with someone else and got no call back response. I called back again & spoke with a girl who obviously didn't know why she was answering the phone because she asked me what I needed two times after I stated it already. They couldn't tell me who the massage was going to be w/or explain to me why she couldn't tell me. Very unprofessional. The $20-$25 you pay for a massage is what you get.... Not going back.

Extremely disappointed with Keys of Joy in Lawrence…read more We experienced multiple issues with their scheduling and communication. On one occasion, our class was canceled with only 20 minutes' notice. Another time, we arrived to find the session had been double-booked. When we voiced our concerns, we were told make-up sessions could take weeks to schedule, and eventually, they told us they were too busy to continue providing service altogether. At this point, they still owe us three make-up sessions that were never honored. We've had great experiences with other kids' programs in Lawrence--gymnastics, soccer, karate, and art--but this was by far the most unprofessional. Unfortunately, I can't recommend Keys of Joy to other families.

Choose a competitor with better training and business practices…read more This company engages in very sketchy practices and once you give them your money, there is no way to actually get it back. For example, they will contact you about a specific class 1-2 weeks before it is scheduled to begin. You will pay for it up front and that is where the trouble begins. If you actually need to cancel before the class starts, THEY WON'T LET YOU. META keeps your money and claims that, after you've paid them, you have to cancel any classes 21 days before the class starts. Interesting, given they told you about it 14 days before the class starts... Additionally, they will tell you that they have to keep all the money you paid for the class. They WILL NOT refund any money you've paid in. At all. Ever. These classes are extremely expensive, so if you, as a business owner are paying for an employee or for yourself to attend a class, DO NOT send them through here. You will lose a lot of money going through here and as a good business practice, avoid them. (Plus, they don't believe in treating customers with dignity, so be aware that any engagement with them may turn nasty on their part.)
