My girlfriend was craving some Korean soup after going to mass at 8AM on a Sunday. Given the odd timing, our options were limited. I had been to Soosanghan Pocha before for some karaoke but never really had their food. It's a pretty large space and given how early it was the space was practically empty. I ordered a burger skillet and my girlfriend got the Army Stew. The Army Stew was good and comforting on a chilly morning. It was packed with all different kinds of processed meats and some noodles. My burger skillet was a lot bigger than i expected and it tasted really good. It was essentially a huge burger patty in a bed of caramelized onions with an egg on top. The meat was super juicy and flavorful. It was pretty tender too. It was on the saltier side, especially if you got a spoonful of the sauce. But that just means it paired especially well with the white rice it was served with. The service was quick and friendly, but I expected it to be with the restaurant basically empty. Overall I enjoyed the meal and would come back to try some more of their dishes.

My husband and I visited Soosanghan Kotdaeji some time ago and had such a blast that we decided to try this spot, the presumed sister restaurant. Our TLDR take: Yikes, what a bust. 'Pocha' is short for a Korean outdoor tent bar, and you can see that as soon as you approach. There's a heated outdoor space that closely resembles a Koraen pojangmacha, complete with metal tables, low slung chairs, and lots of soju advertisements. We sat in the indoor space, which was attractively dark with fun bar vibes. For all the ambiance, the food was disappointing. I love a good seafood pancake. When well-prepared, it's fried hard in a pan, making for a crispy exterior with tender bits of seafood on the inside. Here, an unfavorably fishy smell accompanied its arrival to our table, making me wonder about the freshness of this seafood. It was surprisingly gummy and mochi-like in texture, making me think it must've been prepared with a sticky rice flour instead of regular flour. At a whopping $25, this felt like a poor menu choice. Our spicy pork entree - the jeyyuk bokkeum - was another disaster. While the taste was spot on (and surprisingly spicy!), it's tough to call this a meat dish. Though it comes in a large platter, the serving was almost laughably bereft of actual meat, consisting mostly of filler cabbage, cooked kimchi, and onions. Trying to find any meat in the pile felt like a futile treasure hunt, and at $27, a truly questionable value. Food compunctions aside, service was great. Food came in a timely manner and our water jug was refilled promptly as needed (much needed to calm the spice alarms from the pork).

It has been a long time since I have been to this place and unfortunately it is not as good as it used to be to be. We got the gopchang in a sizzling skillet as well as the thick pork belly in a sizzling skillet which we were told were the best two dishes but they were really just okay. I've had better for both so I was a little disappointed. We also got this stir fried ramen dish (i forgot the name) but this was pretty good. I definitely liked this more than the two huge mains. We also got the Creamy Rice Cake which I want to say was my favorite but the creamy part was just way too watery. The flavor was good and the texture of the rice cake was good but I just wish more corn start was added to thicken the sauce up a little. The service was great and that is why I gave this place 4 stars because they served was very helpful and even let us know that we ordered too much food. He helped us through the large menu and checked up on us throughout the meal. This is definitely a cute Korean pub but I just wished that the food quality was a little better.

Authentic Pocha vibes. Very big space. Huge serving sizes! Loved how they chill the shot glasses. Don't know too many places that do that. Came during the day time for lunch and it was very chill.

Plenty of food for a good price, staff was very welcoming and friendly. Place smelled a lot like charcoal but it is a bbq spot. Menu has lots of options taste was okay will give another try for the bbq food.

is the ultimate spot to chill with friends after work-grab some soju, beer, or wine, and just vibe out in a super cozy atmosphere. The food? Next level. Try their classic Korean army stew, crispy seafood pancake, comforting clam soup, and don't miss the Soopo sliced beef hotpot in mala broth-spicy, savory, and packed with veggies that balance it out with sweet umami goodness. Perfect for late-night bites, laughs, and good convos.

Came here for a friend's birthday with a party of 8 and had a wonderful time. Ordered soju, beer, and a variety of dishes all delicious (sesame chicken, fried chicken, seafood udon, kimchi pancake, seafood pancake, pork belly). Staff were incredibly friendly and service was just perfect. They inquired what the occasion was and when informed it was a friend's birthday they went further to bring a small treat! Also affordable with cute ambiance. Quite filled by the time we left.

Came here years ago and had a good experience and wanted to try again. We decided to have an early dinner to avoid the typical pocha scene at night when its louder and busier. At around 3-4ish, the restaurant was less busy and we were able to enjoy the food and hear each other's conversations. We had a party of three and shared a few dishes as we wanted some variety. The corncheese was good but cooled off fast. There are definitely some better options in the area but it definitely hits the spot. The gopchang was fried to perfection and delicious. We absolutely love the chives it comes with. We also ordered the spicy stir fried squid with udon and that was so good. The spice level on that is great and definitely has a sweet and spicy kick to it. Last we complimented the dishes with an order of fries which added a much needed crispy texture! I love the pocha food and definitely see myself coming back here!

On one of my nights out, my friends and I were looking to get dinner after a movie where I had popcorn so maybe I wasn't the hungriest at the time. One of them had been to this restaurant before and had a nice time previously so we came by There was a 20 minute wait which seemed to be normal. We were able to walk along the street and see what's around. They called us to return since our table was ready. There was loud music playing, my friends and I are picking out dishes it was alright. We order the food and it comes somewhat quickly. I don't know if it's because a lot of it is just fried but it was appreciated. Throughout the night I'm eating the food and I'm just not having the best time. The fried chicken, I was expecting it to be drumsticks or flats like other restaurants. The chicken had random shaped bones in it. It still tasted fine as chicken is supposed to be, but the strange shape made it a bit chaotic to eat and some bones were so skinny that it could be sharp if you're not careful. The seafood pancake was chewy like it had squid tentacles in it which was different but my friends liked it quite a bit. The sweet potato fries were kind of tough to pull off the plate as it was all tangled together which made it a bit messy, especially because there's sugar powder all over them. The corn cheese was as expected. Later on we had a couple other customers just join our table offering to share drinks and just have a conversation together. I wasn't really expecting that but it was actually a welcome experience that the people could just be friendly and try to make new friends like that. I imagine I would come again, but I think I should return with more of an empty stomach to properly indulge in it

A pub with all the good comfort food that you can ask for with friendly service and a lively atmosphere. Far from the formality of traditional Korean restaurants, Soosanghan Pocha delves into the single, lively scene of social life. We did come back here with our kids and they didn't bat an eyelash and were welcoming. We got the Bossam, the beef intestines, stir-fried octopus, popcorn chicken, cheesy corn, thick pork belly, sweet potato fries, dumplings, and Kloud beer. There are sides and little plates to order as well, and unlike traditional Korean places, there are no banchan served. Karaoke after dinner hits well. Private parking lot can get full, street parking available.

Very standard Korean food. It's not bad in anyway, but just very normal. Gopchang is not as good as the one in Gopchang NYC. So in a Korean neighborhood, I'd prob not come back, unless it's 12am and nothing else opens.

Added benefit, they had their own parking lot, fitting about 10-12 cars right in front of the 3rd floor entrance thru the private parking lot. Once we arrived on Saturday evening, the manager took us to their biggest room since we had about 14 people. The room was cozy enough. All guests were able to see the TV fine. The music/lyrics were played through Youtube, so it was easy to search and play them. The microphones and sound systems worked fine too. We were the only ones in the karaoke room around 7pm, but by 9pm all their rooms were full, so was the restaurant's dining space. During the party, we ordered a bunch of drinks and food items. They had a call-in button in the room that notified the manager to come in. The grape slush bowl were massive hits among our friends. Ube rice wine also good. Among food onion rings, fresh fries, cheese sticks, fried (pork) dumplings, chicken wings, chili shrimp, and cream shrimp all were good quality. I loved the fried gizzards, takoyakis and butter roasted squid. They actually served a whole squid that I had to cut in pieces. Throughout the night the manager and rest of staff members provided wonderful service. Being a large party, we had lots of orders and requests, that they accommodated for us. They also kept the birthday cake in their kitchen and when we were ready, they brought it out with a fire cracker on top. We also got plenty of bowls and cups for all of us to share the food, cake and drinks. Originally we had booked for 2 hours, but since everyone was having such good time, we extended for another hour. Highly recommend them for karaoke night or just to enjoy some delicious Korean food.

We knew that we wanted to order a solid amount of entree to share and went with the fried chicken with garlic and the thin beef brisket with clams. The fried chicken was a HUGE pile of perfectly fried and seasoned chicken. I haven't had better Korean fried chicken!
