This place is absolutely a hidden gem in the area. The food was AMAZING, and I promise I wasn't drunk yet either!!! The drinks were cold and truly well made as well. I've had cocktails almost everywhere I've traveled and no one has made a whiskey REFRESHING like this place did. It's a small bar, definitely looks like a lot of locals but the owners or staff working that night made us feel at home. They service was great and our waitress/bar tender checked up on us consistently and plenty all through the night. My friends and I came here on a Friday night around midnight and was greeted so warmly by someone who I am assuming to be one of the owners. The space is not that big but quite cozy. The kitchen was open late and we have one of their chicken sandwiches and onion rings which was pretty tasty. They also had a number of games for the table. Hey it's a local bar with food. It's dark and there are not many table seats. That said the food was really tasty and well prepared. We order wings as a start and then burgers. Recent moved to this area out of necessity, and found this absolute gem of a pub. The owners are the absolute greatest to say the least, bartenders are also charismatic and will make you feel like you belong as soon as they meet you. the regulars are some of the friendliest people I've ever met. I can honestly say I've never felt more at home being somewhere I don't even know the street names. The food is great bar eats in an open back kitchen. Great music always playing. As locals, we had high hopes for this place, and looked forward to supporting a small business watering hole, of which there are not many in the immediate walking area. We went a couple of times for happy hour: decent beers, some happy our specials, and a pretty good burger. We were also happy to be able to sit outside, in the fresh air, during this pandemic. Now, sitting outside is not really an option, unless you want to hang around the sleazy types who pry themselves off their bar stools to come outside and chainsmoke. Because of this, they don't even set up the outside tables half the time. Clientele has become pretty sketch. Won't be returning. read more

I don't know how it is on the weekends, but I went during a Tuesday, and the bartender was also the cook, which, as other reviewers mentioned, does mean the service is a bit slower. BUT the burgers and fries are on point. The burger is what I think of when I think of a pub burger. There was something about the size and messiness of the surplus of toppings that goes perfectly with a few beers. They seem to have a good happy hour as well, so I'll hopefully be back to check that out. read more

This was the perfect find on a rainy Sunday night to watch the game, enjoy gourmet pub fare and chat with locals. This new place is welcoming, personal, and intimate. The wings, soup in a bread bowl, and burger were awesome. You will actually probably eat the entire perfectly toasted bread bowl that is light and crisp. Prices are more than reasonable especially if your new best friends pick up the tab. Me and group of friends stopped in here last night and were pleasantly surprised! Mike, owner and bartender offered such friendly service and was very conversational throughout. He said something that was so warming: "we want you to feel like you're hanging out in our living room". This vibe is definitely achieved and the environment is a joy to relax in. The special drinks menu they had for October were interesting, and our group got drinks mostly from these. These drinks were awesome and did a great job at tying into the fall theme. Reasonable prices on drinks and beers as well. For food, I can say that it was all fantastic! Mike's significant other ran the kitchen and made everything herself. I ordered the chicken parm, and it tasted fantastic and was made with quality in mind. Others in my group got burgers, and they raved about how good they were and how big the portion sizes were, which presented a great value. Overall, I'd surely visit again and would recommend others. It's inspiring to see a young couple pursue opening their own business under these circumstances with COVID-19. I wish nothing but the best for them and can't wait to see how they grow and mesh into the surrounding community. read more

I found this place while visiting friends in NJ and what a treat it was. Loved the cute and cozy vibe and really everything about this place. Owners Mike and Lauren really make you feel "at home" and add a very welcoming energy which I really appreciate. I enjoyed getting to know them. I typically don't have high expectations for "Pub" food but I was very pleasantly surprised by the variety and the quality of the dishes we ordered. I had the aptly named "Feeling Good Chicken Parm" and others enjoyed a couple of the interesting burger options. Everything was very flavorful and prepared exactly as requested. The drinks were generous and everything was well-priced and expertly prepared. The restaurant is immaculate and fresh and we felt they were taking all the necessary precautions necessary in the current environment. Everyone agreed that we would return soon and I look forward to exploring the menu a bit deeper on our next visit. Blackbird Pub and Restaurant is a great new addition to the neighborhood! read more

Had the grilled cheese sandwich. I guess this is a staple in Manhattan places now, but they generally throw a melted piece of cheese on two slices of bread and that's it. Here its a big slice of cheese with raspberry jam--crazy combination but it really works!! And seasoning on the toast that was just amazing! This place is fantastic! Looks pretty cool from the outside, but doesn't prepare you for the upscale, luxurious aesthetic once you walk in. Fanciest "pub" I've ever been in for sure. It manages to pull this off without being pretentious, too! I felt very comfortable and welcome. The owner, Mike, even came by and introduced himself. He was so nice, and I felt like we were old friends or something. Even if the food had bombed, it was with worth going just to have met the guy. So... I tend to judge a place heavily on its burger, especially if it is a feature of the menu. I think this might be one of the best burgers I've ever had, except maybe for the distant memory of sone amazing childhood cookout. Just WOW. I usually don't take the time to review a place unless they've failed miserably or just thoroughly pissed me off, but I'm sitting in my car thinking about going back in and ordering another burger to go. Lol I am sure the rest of the food is awesome, too, but i have a feeling I'm going to have several more burgers before I venture into the rest of the menu..... although the idea of a Brie and jam sandwich is pretty mouthwatering.
