It never felt like "just another wedding" to them--they treated our day as if it was as meaningful to them as it was to us. One of our favorite moments was heading up to the top of the ridge for golden hour photos. The views were breathtaking, and it was such a peaceful, unforgettable experience that gave us some of our most cherished memories from the day. They have larger and smaller sized (unripe) available for purchase, prices are extremely reasonable. If you are looking for ripe and ready for guacamole avocados, these are also available. They carry local products, lotions, cooking oils, pickled garlic, pickled asparagus, etc for purchase. Also have a nice selection of Frontier (dry soup mix) Soups. Parking is on asphalt and convenient handicap parking closer to the stand. They take cash, credit cards and debit. Staff were friendly and engaging. The stand is small but very clean and organized.

That is not allowed. - There are a few trees right by the parking lot so you can see those trees and there is a shop selling a ton of avocados and a it based products. - The cashier was very welcoming and knowledgeable. A Big Dose Of Joy…read more.... My wife and I have always been big fans of farm animals. Cows, goats, horses, sheep. By and large, they're some of the sweetest beings on earth. Fortunately, we've got several sanctuaries nearby which provide much needed care for abandoned, abused and/or neglected animals. One such place is the Rancho Burro Donkey Sanctuary about 10-15 minutes northeast of the village part of Arroyo Grande. A group of 5 made arrangements with the owner, Jim Eckford, to tour the property and visit their residents during a late Thursday morning. Set in the foothills of the coast range amidst ranches and vineyards, Rancho Burro is a sight to behold. The grounds are gorgeous, facilities very well maintained and you feel as if civilization is far away...although, of course, it's actually nearby. Jim and his wife, Carlen, along with a few employees and several volunteers, make a home for 11 donkeys and 1 burro (a cross between a horse and donkey). Forget any negative myths you might have about donkeys. After giving you the "smell test", these guys and gals could not have been more friendly. During the hour we spent in their corral, Jim gave us a quick lesson in the history of each donkey and encouraged us to get up close and personal. Just like people, they all had a different personality. However, the common denominator was an undeniable sweetness. The sanctuary is a not-for-profit 501c(3) organization and relies on grants and donations. Besides private tours like our group of 5, they also host larger ones such as a girl scout troop scheduled for later that same day. If your heart appreciates a shot of pure joy, check out the Rancho Burro Donkey Sanctuary. You'll never consider donkeys in the same way.

Without a doubt.....this place is Heaven on Earth. Events here come with being able to be around…read morethese beautiful animals; in and among their living space. Among the many donkeys that call this place home, are a few mules which are equally as gentle and friendly. Making the time to come visit such an organization as this, is a rare and unique experience that I highly recommend. The "paint with a donkey and have some wine" events are exceptional, will come with lunch and usually a live band while you channel your inner Picasso and paint.... you'll see. The staff are always very gracious and welcoming and quick to make sure guests learn what these animals are all about. Book an event- you won't be sorry, great value for a worthwhile experience.

Out in the sticks in the countryside of the Arroyo Grande & Edna Valley area one can find several…read morelittle honor farm stands on the back roads. This is one of several, and this one focuses on fully organic grown produce. Like some of these small mini-farms, it is very seasonal and sometimes there is some goodies to get and other times not so much. So today, it was just some citrus in the stand. One fruit was organic, but was really interesting looking. Sometimes one can even score some goodies in the winter here if the weather has been mild and the growing season is extended. As with other honor stands, one simply puts money in the secured box and then one gets some goodies. In most cases, the offering is fresh, right from the garden. This stand is a bit harder to get to, since one of the roads to it is closed for repair, and the "main" road is a dead end. Unless one enjoys just a drive out in the country, it is entirely possible that some stands have little to nothing on offer when one does go.... but regardless, it is nice drive out in the country for those who are local. It is fun diversion from the typical Farmers Market dynamic in AG Village, which while nice, is rather urban. Regardless of Farmers Market, Farm Stand, or other ways to get local produce, in general, it is often better than what one gets in many supermarkets. Who needs stuff grown in Mexico, or even South America, when one can generally buy local in parts of rural California.

What a surprise this center was. We love finding out about the history of an area, especially one…read morewe drive past often. The information center is small and informative. We found out about the Dana family was given a Mexican land grant of thousands of acres called Rancho Nipomo. The sweet lady behind the info desk offered a tour of the Adobe home for $10 each. We immediately said yes and off we went. We learned that William Dana was a Sea Captain who married into the Santa Barbara Carrillo family. They built a large adobe home to accommodated 21 children. The house has been lovingly restored to demonstrate the Dana's life during the Rancho period. Outside is a vegetable garden and a vineyard with mission grape vines. The scenery is beautiful and I could just imagine what it was like to live there.
