We love SLO Veg! We have ordered their fruit & veggie itty bitty produce box weekly for 6+ years. We love getting quality, local, organic produce! It's so fresh, lasts significantly longer than produce purchased at the grocery store, and by eating with the seasons, we are getting a healthy variety of nutrients! We also love that we are getting our food from awesome local farmers and saving all the resources that transporting produce long distance requires. Picking up our weekly box is easy at a convenient local location. We also really love that they've more recently added a substantial amount of additional local market items to add to the weekly delivery of desired! We now get great sourdough bread, delicious baked goodies (like cinnamon rolls!), extra herbs or berries, and fun cheeses. There's also seafood and many other items available. And guess what?? I've been a member of Slo Veg delivery for almost 3mos. The fresh produce is always amazing! Recently, as I was going through my new box of produce, I found that my cauliflower head was moldy. I took a picture & contacted Slo Veg via email. I was only expecting a typical response of "It's fresh produce, sometimes that's happens" and take it as a loss. Slo Veg took it to the next level! Not only did I receive a phone call personally apologizing but they offered to deliver a fresh head of cauliflower to my house the next day! When they replaced the bad cauliflower, they even gave me a few extra goodies along with the new cauliflower. Amazing! FARM FRESH PRODUCE delivered right to your DOOR at HOME! As you can see, you get a big juicy hefty variety of super-fresh local fruits & veggies from SLO Veg. These are from the local farmers & many of the vendors have stands at one or more of the local farmer's markets (they range from the Arroyo Grande FM @ 12 noon on Saturdays (or the 8AM one in the Madonna Shopping Center) to the Baywood FM on Monday afternoons). As opposed to running around like crazed chickens, the wizards at SLO Veg somehow pick just the right amount of what you need (a medium- large tote for 2 people for 5-7 days) & it appears like "magic" at your doorstep on your chosen day of delivery. The produce are all very fresh & all items are perfect, or close to it. We have been pleasantly surprised by how tasty & sweet everything from Cocktail Grapefruits to Strawberries are. The freshness & quality blows away that of "Whole Paycheck Market" & is far cheaper. When you factor in the time to travel to various Farmer's Markets (or Farms, for that matter), the low cost for "just enough portions", the gas savings, and the Farm to Table concept, you are getting a good deal for sure....especially when compared to the very pricey Farm to Table restaurants! In comparison, the SF Bay area's premier produce delivery is just plain "grubby" by comparison. They charge way more, for less stuff, that can be rotten, old, small & pricey. The SLO Veg "family" is local, super responsive, professional, and personalized. They even were able to deliver our first order the very next day after signing up late one Sunday night. The delivery is included & the price/ size of the totes range from about $26 to 41 dollars (Large). The sweet spot for us is likely either the Medium or Large. Their website & Facebook page are easy to navigate & they go into what they offer every week. While you cannot "customize" like some Bay area services, they more than make up, by the shear variety & freshness of the offerings. From experience, I would rather have super-fresh local delicious stuff, rather than old overpriced customized crap, that some of which, I had to throw out! They deliver in many areas around the SLO area, including the 5 Cities area, & more. No other local delivery service does fresh produce...not the supermarkets & not Google. Google will only do limited shelf stable type goods from places that range from Costco to Target to some supermarkets (like Whole Foods or Smart & Final). I did sign up for Goggle delivery membership but I am not to happy to discover that all the vendors jack-up the prices & mostly offer either tons of junk food or stuff that is over priced. If you want clearance to save $, want fresh, or perishable then you have to go to the store. The Goggle service also costs close to $100/yr plus you need to spend at least $15 with each vendor to get free delivery. Amazon Pantry is also filled with overpriced junk & does not do "fresh". Even if either develop the local market, it cannot compete with the wonderful Farm Fresh quality that SLO Veg offers! With SLO Veg, you can also have more than one delivery a week, plus a local fresh FISH or local HONEY option! This is a great CSA service and I highly recommend SLO Veg. We've been subscribers for about six months and have never been disappointed with what comes in our weekly box. We get the small box which is $36 plus every other week we get the fresh local fish for an extra $9. Every Monday we receive an email from SLO Veg letting us know what to expect and some recipe suggestions. On delivery day, the staff almost always show up at the same time and they are always friendly and seem to enjoy what they are doing. The product is always great. All products are pesticide free and some are organic. The fish is always locally caught and it's always something different. I appreciate the accompanying recipes and we had more than a few that were hits and "do overs". In regards to the staff, they are always responsive to my emails within 24 hours. An example of their good service, we were out of town during the holidays and we decided to gift our boxes to our son's school teacher. To make sure the teacher got the box and wasn't waiting around at the drop site, Rachel asked for his cell and sent him a text when the veggies were delivered. So awesome and the teacher was appreciative of the service and he enjoyed the boxes of greens. SLO Veg is definitely one we'll keep subscribing to. read more

I have used a number of different vegetable delivery services. All have been good but SLO veg is my favorite. Good selection, great price and excellent quality. The flavor is great. So good, in fact, I use all the peels, ends, scraps and greens to make my vegetable broth. Toss em in a mason jar and stick em in the freezer til I need em. Best vegetable broth ever. I recently moved to SLO and started up service with SLO Veg. I have received deliveries from CSAs (Community Supported Agriculture) in the past and can honestly say that SLO Veg is my favorite. The food is fresh, like picked that morning fresh. The food is clean. The food is delicious. We get the large box and it is a great deal for about $40/week. They also deliver...to your door...any day Monday - Friday. I have never had service like that. My first box came with a handwritten note welcoming me. I have received several other surprises with my produce: seeds for my garden, flowers, nuts. We love produce day in our house and look forward to opening the box to see all of our yummy food. We signed up for this service shortly after moving from LA to northern SLO County, because one of our goals is to be more involved with local farm culture and the incredible bounty here. We just LOVE receiving a cool, fresh box of local and organic fruits and veggies, which always includes several familiar varieties we use every week as well as amazing new finds we can learn about and experiment with (SLOVeg provides abundant recipes in case anyone needs extra inspiration). There's often a bunch of fresh herbs, and everything is appropriately seasonal, plus the flavors far surpass grocery store produce that's sat on a refrigerated truck for days/weeks. The SLOVeg staff is super responsive and helpful if we ever need substitutions, and they send an email each Monday detailing what's in that week's box. In addition to making our family healthier and more locally conscientious, I know we're supporting our neighbors who grow and sell wonderful ingredients. Few things make me happier than my SLO Veg delivery. Honestly, you can't find these colors in the nail polish aisle! Yesterday I received brilliant gold beets, hot pink radishes, deeply red strawberries, a stunningly green avocado, chard with pinkish red stems, bright orange oranges, and so much more. We LOVE SLO Veg! We have gotten a medium sized box for about 3 years now. They have a great selection and its wonderful to know we have high quality, fresh, local produce delivered to our door. We love the variety of the produce. They are also conscientious about packing the box accordingly with holidays, which is a nice touch. The add ons are also wonderful. We can get honey and olive oil along with some other fun things. The staff are so friendly and wonderful if we ever have a problem or question they are quick to get back with us.
