I went to the Beignet Bus at the Clearfork Farmers Market and nothing beats some hot beignets with an iced mocha on a foggy spring day! The people working were so friendly and even gave my dog a bite of beignet! I ordered beignets and their Dutch babies. They were both phenomenal, but the best part for me was the iced mocha. This place is straight up nom if you find you come across this food truck. Their beignets are hot and tasty. Just the right about of crisp to each bite and be weary, you will get powdered sugar everywhere but it's worth it. An combo order of beignets and coffee run $8 + tax. I decided to order the iced cream coffee for my combo on this cold day. Delicious and a bit sweet but good. They take credit card and the staff is friendly. Taking a bite of their warm sugary beignets brought back memories of Cafe du Monde in New Orleans! These freshly made beignets are everything you would want in a beignet. Warm, soft, and not too sweet! I also had their ice coffee which compliments the beignets perfectly. The staff worked really quickly to get the food out and were super friendly. It's hard to find an affordable beignet shop in the DFW metroplex, but somehow I found this place while visiting The Clearfork Farmers Market. I came by again today, and although there was a line, the wait was short. I ordered the combo which came with 4 beignets and a drink. The beignets were fresh and hot (two qualities that I deem very important). The sweetness from the powder sugar and the fluffiness from the beignets balanced each other perfectly. These beignets are definitely comparable to the beignets I had in New Orleans. I hope one day they open up a brick and mortar store, so I can indulge on the weekdays as well. read more

Listen. Heaven on a paper boat tray. The beignets were made to order, soft, flavorful, heavenly, all of the above. Just amazing. The men in the truck were super nice and friendly. Came back for lunch and had the tarragon chicken stew with potato beignet and blown away by the flavor. Perfect for the cool weather. I am definitely going to have to track this place down more often at work because I am still craving more after two rounds of beignets. read more

It's a taste of New Orleans right here in Cowtown! Follow them on Facebook or Twitter to find them and they're usually in the hospital district. The beignets are great and we even liked the iced coffee and we usually hate coffee. While we were in line we heard everyone raving about the cafe au lait and hot chocolate. read more

We live in Ohio and found Toby's Beignet Bus online when we needed a caterer for our son's wedding rehearsal dinner in Dallas. Being out of town, it can be difficult to arrange an event, but Toby made it easy. The food was outstanding and he was so easy to work with! We had the muffulettas & chicken salad sandwiches and potato salad side for dinner then beignets, iced chocolate, and coffee(s) for desert. Toby and Matt served 60 of our guests and couldn't have been faster or friendlier! When rain threatened the plan, Toby contacted the hotel and arranged to set up under their cover without me raising a finger. Stop at The Beignet Bus and you'll be reminded why it's so much better to shop and eat local. I'd seen the bus off 8th Ave for months when taking my mom to work, but I'm always too tired to stop and too eager to get back home to my bed. Today I finally decided to stop, and now I don't know if I'll ever be able to pass it up again! The owner's so cheerful and seems truly grateful for every customer, the beignets are piping hot, coated in just enough powdered sugar and have the perfect balance of soft doughiness and a slight crunch. It warmed my heart when I saw the Cafe Du Monde can donating to Tatum's College Fund, and when I contributed to it, the owner made sure I got a little something extra. He gave me some chocolatey iced coffee with a hint of a minty flavor I believe and boy, did it hit the spot. The best part is that despite being a local business, he's somehow still able to keep the prices down. $5 for 3 good sized beignets, the perfect amount to share with a friend or significant other, or greedily keep them to yourself...that's what I did. read more

So yesterday (10/3/2012) Keller had it's first pop-up food truck event. I was very happy to catch wind of it, for I'm usually late to the party when it comes to events. In attendance were Gastro Bomber and So-Cal Tacos (http://www.yelp.com/biz/so-cal-tacos-fort-worth). My plan was to order something from each truck, one as a way to show support, and two, well because I'm a glutton and wanted to try both. I looked over both menus and came to a decision. From GB it was going to be the Chicken and Waffle Sandwich. I've been wanting C&Ws forever, from anywhere, and tonight was finally my night to try this item. The first thing to point out is it was not really a "sandwich" unless you want to stretch it and call it an open-faced sandwich. Second, it was not a full-sized waffle, but rather something rectangular. It consisted of three pieces of boneless chicken and a drizzle of maple syrup. Cost, $8. It was very good. The chicken was tender and the waffle delicious. What I noticed, and confirmed, is that there is corn meal in the waffle batter. I was told this is the Southern twist they like to add to there food. It was like Belgian cornbread. Yummy! Now I will add my wife's comment, which seem to be true of all food trucks, is that the cost to quantity ratio seems to be a little high. Three large tenders on essentially half a waffle for 8 bucks seems a bit much. Now I came up with a new take on the cost and that is this; One, your getting to try something new and somewhat unique. Two, and here's the kicker, your bottom line cost is perhaps a bit less than if you sat down in a restaurant. If tips are expected at food trucks, I did not see any obvious vessel for the cash to go in. You can bring your own drinks, and thus your bottom line for a unique dining experience really is not bad. I for one am glad this came together. I was excited when I learned that Keller might be getting it's own food truck park, and was disappointed when I learned the plans were not approved. Somehow I think Keller's loss will be Roanoke's gain (Actually Corina T., aka the "shark lady", who I met at this event said that). From this point forward I will keep track of food trucks coming to Keller, and there are definitely a few more items on GB's menu I would like to try (Irish Nachos, Shepherd's Pie Croquettes, Fish and Chips, Picanha Sandwich). PS. If you missed it, they will be back in the same spot (at the CVS at the NE corner of 1709 and Rufe Snow) next week, 10/10/2012 from 5 to 8PM. One quick tip: Do bring your own chairs!

Now to dinner: Theoysters, fish dip, rib eye, lamb, mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, chocolate cake, and French 75s were more than a 10. I could eat it all again, but I will definitely put emphasis on the mashed potatoes.... theyre new to the menu, and theyre excellent!!! It was also the toughest Wagyu that I ever had. The Shrimp smelled very fishy so we didn't even eat it. The Brussel sprouts were good. I also tried the Lamb Ragu. It was bland as well but adding some salt helped. I commonly fine dine. And this was my worst fine dining experience as far as food thus far.
