    Delicious smoked duck tacos
    Don J.

The Holy Frijoles food truck was serving up food at the Coyote Drive In tonight. I ordered the smoked duck street tacos. I had to wait about 10 minutes, but I was rewarded with a trio of piping hot tacos with a side of rice. While the duck was not very smoky, the tacos tasted fresh, topped with delicious spinach that is sauteed while you wait. Ask for some avocado slices for an extra special treat. I usually skip the rice, but I really enjoyed the Holy Frijoles version with kernels of corn and a rich buttery flavor. Overall, a nice food truck meal!

It's holy frijol!!! The name is wrong on yelp. Anywho, I've had it at the coyote drive and I went back for their duck tacos. Guys lay off the salt these are my favorite but this time someone had a heavy hand with the salt it was hard to eat and I really wanted to eat it bc it's very good. Except for the salt. The rice that accompanied it was delicious I appreciate that they kept it simple. They have a gut taking orders in front of the truck he's very nice and makes the experience more personable. I will go back again for more tacos though. Yum yum

Went for a walk at Trinity Park, Google for restaurants and this is the first place that was recommended. The gang decided to take a chance on it and believe me did NOT DISAPPOINT. The standout for me was Holy Frijole with their street tacos, delicious, authentic and the owner was so cool. My sis went with Chico Blanco and got the loaded nachos for $12 flat, she said the pulled pork was so flavorful. The vibe is so chill it reminds me a little of SoCal, the girls got to pet Ellie a rescue pitbull who btw is the sweetest dog EVER!!!! I will be coming back to get some more of this delicious food or just to hang out. If you're into little places like this please give it a try, you won't be disappointed. Beautiful ending to our little day out, THANK YOU FOOD PARK I WILL BE BACK!!

The food truck in the parking lot waiting for the wedding guests.

Hired the Holy Frijole food truck to serve a late night snack in the parking lot of Stonegate Mansion after my daughters wedding reception. We kept it simple with 3 different street tacos and bottled water. They were there on time, served great tacos to the guests, had a big cooler of bottled water and were friendly to the guests. They did not rush us and all the wedding guests (especially the out of towners) loved the idea and tasty tacos. He set up a table for the sauces, with napkins too and stayed a little beyond the scheduled hour, due to slow guests filing out of the reception. It was a fun addition. Thank you Nestor for your professionalism.

"The Gastro Bomber is serving up traditional pub grub with a Texas twist and the customary pub…read moreculture...good music and friendly conversation!" - From GB's FB page. So yesterday (10/3/2012) Keller had it's first pop-up food truck event. I was very happy to catch wind of it, for I'm usually late to the party when it comes to events. In attendance were Gastro Bomber and So-Cal Tacos (http://www.yelp.com/biz/so-cal-tacos-fort-worth). My plan was to order something from each truck, one as a way to show support, and two, well because I'm a glutton and wanted to try both. I looked over both menus and came to a decision. From GB it was going to be the Chicken and Waffle Sandwich. I've been wanting C&Ws forever, from anywhere, and tonight was finally my night to try this item. The first thing to point out is it was not really a "sandwich" unless you want to stretch it and call it an open-faced sandwich. Second, it was not a full-sized waffle, but rather something rectangular. It consisted of three pieces of boneless chicken and a drizzle of maple syrup. Cost, $8. It was very good. The chicken was tender and the waffle delicious. What I noticed, and confirmed, is that there is corn meal in the waffle batter. I was told this is the Southern twist they like to add to there food. It was like Belgian cornbread. Yummy! Now I will add my wife's comment, which seem to be true of all food trucks, is that the cost to quantity ratio seems to be a little high. Three large tenders on essentially half a waffle for 8 bucks seems a bit much. Now I came up with a new take on the cost and that is this; One, your getting to try something new and somewhat unique. Two, and here's the kicker, your bottom line cost is perhaps a bit less than if you sat down in a restaurant. If tips are expected at food trucks, I did not see any obvious vessel for the cash to go in. You can bring your own drinks, and thus your bottom line for a unique dining experience really is not bad. I for one am glad this came together. I was excited when I learned that Keller might be getting it's own food truck park, and was disappointed when I learned the plans were not approved. Somehow I think Keller's loss will be Roanoke's gain (Actually Corina T., aka the "shark lady", who I met at this event said that). From this point forward I will keep track of food trucks coming to Keller, and there are definitely a few more items on GB's menu I would like to try (Irish Nachos, Shepherd's Pie Croquettes, Fish and Chips, Picanha Sandwich). PS. If you missed it, they will be back in the same spot (at the CVS at the NE corner of 1709 and Rufe Snow) next week, 10/10/2012 from 5 to 8PM. One quick tip: Do bring your own chairs!

It's hard for me to step outside of the box sometimes, especially when you've got whack food-allergies. Let me enlighten you on these Churrasco Street Tacos. The tortillas are fresh and not bland, the meat (I've tried both chicken and beef skirt) is seasoned generously and just right, the shredded lettuce is bright and crunchy, and they definitely don't skimp on the cheese! Plus there's a fantastic "keymayo" sauce mixed in; a tangy citrus delight that isn't overpowering but definitely takes these tacos to another level. If you're one of those folks who hates mayonnaise, that's fine, but try not to dismiss everything it's ever in. It's an awesome base for creative accoutrements like Whats Cook-N Chef's keymayo, and I think you'll love it! That sauce is good for more than just tacos, it makes the perfect dip for the homemade fried plantain chips you'll want to order at this food truck. These little wafers of joy are sweet, salty, crispy, and delightfully warm. Ahhh. Dunk them in that cool keymayo and you've got an unbeatable pairing of flavors! I've had the opportunity to meet the head chef of Whats Cook-N Chef, Javier, and he's excited about his business and dedicated to serving authentic Latin cuisine that'll impress your palate. Right now, there are only two items on the menu (besides fried plantains and chips): the Churrasco Street Tacos and Churrasco Sandwiches. Whats Cook-N Chef is keeping it simple, genuine, and absolutely delicious! Keep an eye on their website to see what location they're at, and go try it out ASAP.

Disappointed for a couple of different reasons. - we wanted to sit outside on the patio and they sat us in a table that was filthy. Chips and rice everywhere on the ground under our feet when there were plenty of other table options near that were clean. Also major delays for getting our drinks and chip refills when it felt like we were the only people out there. - the food just sucked. It felt like everything that came to our table was cold and completely rid of seasoning. We ordered the blackened tilapia tacos and that was the best thing we had all night. The chicken enchiladas were a joke. We asked for the sour cream on the side and they decided to just bring out the chicken wrapped in the tortilla and that's it. Not really sure how they thought that would go... beans were cold and rice was meh. No cheese no vegetables nothing else. - I ordered a margarita with a double pour of tequila. Our server came back and said she was instructed by her manager that she can't do doubles and they would have to charge me for another drink and put the tequila in a shot glass instead of having the bartender mix it in. Never in my life have I had someone refuse to make a double. I was curious why this place was so dead on a Friday night but now it makes perfect sense. It's just not a good restaurant. Save your $$ and go eat somewhere else.
