This was another place I noticed while driving down Main and made a mental note to stop back by and grab breakfast from before we left town. We don't have many beignet shops in the Houston area, despite our much closer proximity to New Orleans than Fort Worth, so it's always nice to see a seemingly authentic place. The storefront is very small up front. There's maybe 3-4 tables, with a counter to order from and a rotating video screen. The guy behind the counter was very friendly. They have a wider variety of beignet options with some specialty items and savory items as well. I opted for a couple of beignet samplers, selecting a classic French Quarter beignet (fried with powdered sugar), a brown butter glazed, and a chocolate glazed. I also grabbed a sweetened cafe au lait and a sweetened cafe noir. We went out on a dessert date tonight and ended up at Dusty Biscuit Beignets. This place is quaint, with 3-4 tables to sit at. We had never been before and weren't quite sure what to order. We decided on a dozen regular beignets, which were decently priced. After we ordered, we looked at the menu a little longer and thought we should have ordered the trio and the b-holes, but there is always next time. Cute dessert shop in Fort Worth. It's definitely on the smaller side, giving it a more mom & pop feel as it can't accommodate large parties. I drove from Forney to Fort Worth because I was so excited to try some of the flavors that I saw being advertised online. Felt like we were in NOLA. We ordered the French Quarter Beignets, which were the classic powdered sugar beignets. It was good, really messy, but not as fluffy as the ones I've had in New Orleans. Still pretty yummy. Then we got the Bourbon Street Beignets, which I think I enjoyed more, since it wasn't as messy. My boyfriend wasn't a fan of the bacon, but I liked it. Yum! How exciting to find beignets in Fort Worth! This charming establishment is located just south of downtown on S Main near some other really cool eateries. For my first visit I went with the traditional beignets and an iced cafe au lait. Found this place by chance and saw that they're authentic southern style beignets. Forced my husband to come here as he was indecisive as to where to go for a small breakfast. This location did not disappoint! We ordered their sausage beignets which were delicious. They fry the pastry dough fresh and dust with a little powder sugar. My husband was in heaven. I ordered their iced choice which was strong and I loved it so much I had a second one. Tater tots fried perfectly. The second order was a little too salty but I enjoyed how crispy they were and my sweet coffee cancelled it out. The staff were friendly and the place was very clean. This place deserves more business but maybe because it was a Friday morning around 11 which made it seem like it was quieter than usual. But I will definitely be back. I was going to pre-order, but first walked in to see what the deal was on King Cakes for a work lunch we are having. As my luck would have it, they had several King Cakes ready to go! If you've never had authentic beignets, you might find them okay, but as someone who has, I can't recommend them. The sausage was burned, and the bread was extremely dry and bland, not even a dusting of powdered sugar. A little jam, syrup, sauce, or butter could've helped, but none was provided. This is the cutest small shop of beignets I've ever seen. I've only had beignets once and they were okay, but the I had a bite of my boyfriends and I was so shook! My boyfriend really enjoyed and we're definitely coming back to experience the savory beignets. Cafe du Monde is famous in New Orleans. Dusty Biscuit takes it up a notch in terms of offerings. A classic beignet is basically a deep-fried donut, served warm, with powdered sugar on top. While they offer that here, they had 16 or so different options. Both sweet and savory. Beignets with various glazes like vanilla or chocolate. Beignets with cereal like Fruity Pebbles. Savory beignets like Monte Cristo or pizza. It was tough to make a choice with so many appetizing options. And they even have loaded tots with remoulade sauce, bacon, and green onions. I went with the tots because loaded fries are my weakness and they delivered. It was a generous portion. The remoulade sauce was delicious and different from your typical loaded fries. I also did the beignet trio and went with a classic one, chocolate glaze, and the New Orleans one which has green, purple, and yellow on it. The beignets were just as they should be and I appreciated the creativity of the additional options. Service was friendly. It's a small, local, family business with only a few tables. There is no restroom, but they have a deal with the pie store next door, so you can use their restroom. The only thing that needed more attention is the tables have been a little dirty. Yes, these beignets can be messy, so the tables need a more constant wipe down. I am a PB&J lover, so I had no problem devouring their option smothered in it. The jelly and peanut butter were extra smooth and creamy.
