The food has not been as good lately. On the last 3 visits my wife and I both left a little disappointed in our meal. We avoid the place now. We're just tired of being let down. They do have a nice pub with cold beer and pool tables. It's a nice spot to stop for a cold drink but don't expect too much out of the kitchen and you won't leave disappointed. I'd stick with burgers and deep-fried stuff myself if I had to select something from the menu. We're hopeful that things improve and if there is a change that we hear about, I'll report back with an update.

Although I had not visited when the previous owners ran it, the current owner clearly cares about the Inn and the experience it provides for its visitors. The historic nature of the building includes what you might expect: beautiful solid wood finishes, slightly creaky floors, enormous original windows, nooks and niches. It's clean and there are decisive design updates (period-correct wallpapers, lace curtains). The restaurant was great and a step up from the also delicious but more classic corner dining experiences in the area. We plan to return and look forward to the Inn's continual evolution and warm hospitality as we explore Michigan's incredible Upper Peninsula.
