My family and I were staying in Manistique for the night and I had scoped out this restaurant prior to our travels to the UP from Indiana. We walked in and the place was hopping! It took a while to be acknowledged as the servers were pretty busy. Eventually they told us to sit at a table which was still dirty. She wiped down half of it and asked us of we'd wipe the rest of it for her. Awkward? Yes. Deal breaker? No. As a former server, I would have never asked someone to clean their own table. Now... To the food! We order baked cheese curds as an app and they were delicious! I had read great reviews and everyone at the table gave them rave reviews. I ordered the Rueben as a basket and it was great (10/10)! My wife had the Patty Melt (10/10) and enjoyed it as well. The teenagers got a chicken finger basket and a brunch burger basket and they loved both (9/10 for both due to the fries)! Loved the atmosphere of the restaurant and if we were ever in the area again, we'd definitely come back! I'm still giving this place a 5 due to the amazing food even with the weird start to the meal. Actually, no. I posted this before getting our bill so I am going back and changing it. We waited at least 20 minutes to get the bill and then between 5-10 minutes for her to come grab it to cash us out. My son said it best, good was easily 5 out of 5. Service.. Closer to 2 out of 5. Changed my rating to a 4 after it taking us 30 minutes to get the check, pay, and walk out the door. read more

This place hit the spot! I was traveling and I was looking for some good cooking. I was walking in downtown and I did not want bar food and I came across this restaurant. I walked in 10 minutes before they closed and they still allowed me to order and were very nice about it. THANK YOU!! Autumn was my waitress and she took really good care of me. She suggested some kind of turkey sandwich and it sure was great! The chili soup had a kick and the mango mousse was amazing, fluffy and not very sweet. Most importantly you could taste the mango . Looking for a good restaurant that is not a bar is difficult to find in Manistique. This place was great. It was clean, bright, great service and good food. Our server was on top of it made sure we had what we needed and checked in on us periodically. We had a variety of food from the menu. Nachos which was ordered for a dinner and was filling. Cajun Whitefish dinner was good although it could have used a bit more Cajun. The vegetable which was asparagus was tender and the potato medley was a treat. The breakfast burger is not for everyone but I truly enjoyed it. And the salad was appetizing. Glad to see a good restaurant in the city. We recommend it. read more

Wonderful cheese curds and chicken wontons. My husband got initiated into the world of cheese curds! Crispy chicken tacos made with wontons were a nice change. The spicy sauce topped them off. Service was excellent considering there was only one server. Nice atmosphere for a local spot. read more

The food was good, but witnessed a pretty awful interaction between what seemed to be the owner/manager and server. He berated her, curse words and all, in front of customers. She was visibly shaken and crying and he did nothing to rectify the situation. Not sure I would want to give him my business again. read more

This place has come to be a delight in an otherwise fairly barren restaurant landscape. They now have pizza which is very good, their food and service consistently very good. There are nightly specials for us regular customers or order your favs. Owner is always there when we are so I'm thinking pretty much all the time. Door dash is in and out a lot as well. read more

My fiancé and I's first time in the UP so we had to try somewhere local. I read one review about the artichoke dip and we were NOT disappointed. Stopped in for a late lunch while watching the Lions game on TV. We loved the Naked Cheese Curds-had to stop ourselves from ordering more! Our chicken sandwich (with peppers, chipotle sauce on hogue roll) and turkey bacon Boursin cheese sandwich were amazing. Our server was attentive yet relaxed as we spent extra time watching the end of the game. We will definitely stop by again as their menu included delicious looking specials and dessert. read more

Went in as Manistique needs a nice, good place to eat other than cedar street cafe. Very clean, friendly wonderful experience. I have a severe gluten allergy. I brought my own chips due to possible cross contamination, much to my surprise the owner offered carrot and celery sticks in place of pita chips. Huge kudos! The food was fantastic, my sister and I split the kickin' chicken and the oriental salad which were both phenomenal. The drinks were also amazing, especially the blueberry daiquiri, and dessert was well worth it. Service was great and the food came out in a very timely manner. All in all an excellent dining experience, I would love to come here again next time I'm in Manistique. read more
