    Beautiful venue

Phenomenal and an overall enjoyable and memorable experience. I joined a friend who spoke highly about her wine tasting experiences and the Best Cellar. I met Richard, the owner, he manages and organize this tasting events a few times a week. The best part is that you get to try wines before buying them. The price point is way better than any local stores. For $20 p.p you get to try high quality wines and learn about a wide variety of wines, champagne and even rosé. He also have dessert wines worth trying. The venue, or like Richard called it his living room it's beautiful, every detail brings you close to France. The pictures of Paris are just wonderful, he provides in detail all the info about the wines. If you have never been to a wine tasting I will highly recommend you to visit this shop. It's very unique!

Once again Richard kno it oug of the ballpark. We had a small gathering here with food from Cafe Vico, (take out), and had delicious wines to go with dinner. Richard explained the wines to us and we all enjoyed the wine and dinner. His wine tasting at $20 and $25 tasting 12- 17 wines is unbelievable. This place has the lowest prices and best selection of anywhere. The Best Cellar and Cafe Vico rock Ft. Lauderdale.

Great wines and many bonus wines during the evening

Always a great time and has special tasting . You can't find better prices anywhere Richard is an awesome host and don't miss this gem.

This review is based on a private party that we attended. The food was catered (brought in). The champagne and wine never stopped flowing. There were all types f wines and vintages and varieties. This place has a huge amount of wine bottles lining the walls. There are different size tables with chairs and a lounge area with sofas... If you are into wine, this might be your kind of place.

Was an awesome experience to learn about many types of wine and how they are made. Was a wonderful gift that Richard shared his knowledge and enthusiasm for his passion of wine. It is refreshing change than shopping at a store that has only people there to stock shelves and no knowledge of what you are purchasing. Great appreciation of places like this are out there.

This is me on Richards sofa, his store is also his living room

No doubt, everytime I've been here, it's always good vibes and I learn something new about wine.

Being in dire need of a top quality bottle of Valpolicella for a Verona stylized Romeo and Juliet theme party, hopefully without a drag queen Juliet (As most of the Juliet types of Wilton Manors tend to be. LOL!) or a death ending scene, I stopped by The Best Cellar, and glad that I did. I was immediately greeted by the owner, Richard, who not only had precisely what I was looking for in a Valpolicella wine, a "Classico" of the original production region grape, but also graciously gave me a darn good education about it. And, having myself spent a considerable period of time boozing it up in and around the area of Verona I knew to be on spot correct. There are a good number of reasons I really like The Best Cellar. The store is well set out, good arrangement, really gorgeous in a classical style, with a good variety of some difficult to find select wines. Best of all, I found them all to be at prices I would consider reasonable. Also the good advice of the owner, Richard, can prove to be invaluable in making good value selections. For example I selected a wine priced at $35, but Richard advised me of an equally outstanding substitution priced at $13.50. I ended up purchasing both bottles but when later comparing the two together, found the differences between the two imperceptible. I should also note that The Best Cellar has an emailing list, which if you sign up, will keep you posted as to the availability of select wines, most of which come from smaller estate vineyards not found in any other wine stores. You will also receive notices for evening wine tastings at a cost of approximately $20 charged with your reservation but most often later applied in full toward your purchase price of a case, should you so choose.

I finally got the chance to check them out one afternoon when I was in the area. Brewlihan Mead is a 1,700-square-foot mead house and tasting room owned by John and Stacey Hoolihan. John had a background in science education and started out brewing as a hobby. What turned into a passion became a business. Brewlihan Mead is the first commercial meadery in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Mead, sometimes called honey wine is an alcoholic beverage made from three ingredients: fermented honey, water and yeast. It is the first alcoholic beverage consumed by mankind and is believed to predate wine by nearly three thousand years. Since the taste of honey can vary by region, mead can have a diverse and complex flavor profile. To make the mead at Brewlihan, the water, yeast and honey is placed in fermentation tanks with fruit and then aged in oak barrels for 2 to 5 months. You can take your mead to go in cans or they have a nice bar inside the tap room where you can enjoy your drink. I took my mead home and while I enjoyed all of it, my favorite was Winter in So Fla which truly evoked the tropical feel of a winter in Florida. Mead is a great alone or as a pairing to a meal. If you are a mead enthusiast they have memberships for $300 with a host of benefits listed on their website. Whether a casual or refined drinker of mead, you are sure to find something unique and delicious here. John and Stacy are so warm and friendly and this is the kind of science I really enjoy.

Like I mean in $80 plus a bottle and being told that the wine I'm tasting has a nose of blackberry with undertone hints of peach; none of which I have ever been able to truly discern. So it was a joy for me to stop by The Simple Wine shop where I was given the opportunity to try several not to be found elsewhere wines and also to purchase a couple of bottles for myself. The Simple Wine had wines I've never seen before and a few I've never even heard of previously. So, I became completely fascinated in trying these new flavors and tastes as well as some that were familiar. The selection of Italian wines was amazing as they mostly came from small craft vineyards as in the type that would only supply a few select restaurants, but because of their limited capacity, not something like the big box wine chains such as Total Wines. Having spent considerable time in in the smaller country like regions of Italy, I quickly learned that I never had to purchase a bottle of wine as any restaurant house wines were the equal if not superior to any I'd find in a retail bottle. The secret behind it was that these restaurants were supplied by the small craft like vineyards. So finding out that I can now obtain these regional Italian wines from smaller craft vineyards is a real delight and a big money saver too as most of his prices seemed to have run between $15 to $25 dollars.

We ended up grabbing a bottle for the table, and it was the perfect companion throughout the meal. We kicked things off with bread service. The kitchen handled the substitution without a hitch, and it was absolutely delicious. My wife ordered from the gluten-free menu and had the Soy Ginger Atlantic Salmon with Wasabi-Buttered Mashed Potatoes and Asian Slaw, which she raved about.
