A bunch of games and events. This is a good location to meet firends from all corners of the place. Good meet up spot and good food. Service is questionable only bc the servers are helpful but it takes effort to get served initially.

It's time for one of my favorite news of the season ... Maple Bacon Coffee ... yummy! Stopped in to pick up a six pack to take home and enjoy. As usual the staff here is pleasant and very helpful. I'll be back for more of the specialty brews that you can only find here.

    Isn't this awesome??

While vacationing, I was looking for a brewery near me. I remembered funky Buddha was somewhere I wanted to visit before when I was down here. The place was amazing! Super spacious with lots of great pure choices. They also had a great menu that also included healthy choices like a hummus platter. Thinking about trying it? I think it's totally worth it!

I have been to Funky Buddha so many times, I can't believe I've never done a review! This is one of my favorite breweries because they have great beer, yummy food, live music and events, plus free parking! On my recent visit, I went on a Friday night. There was a moderate crowd inside, but it's a big place, so there was no problem securing a table. The servers were quick to greet us and make sure we had menus. They had a singer/guitar player that was playing great music, not too loud, not too quiet. The menu has many different food, options, salads, sandwiches, and shareable bites. I ordered the Bavarian pretzel that comes with two sauces. We got 2 of the same sauce.....beer cheese. It was delicious and perfect to share for $10. My husband and I also shared the Honey Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich. It was $18 and came with a choice of several sides. It was really good and not too hot at all. One friend ordered the Cuban sandwich, $15, and he really liked it which is high praise since he's actually Cuban. The other friend got the meatball sub which was thick and covered with melty cheese. He said it was great. $16 But to be honest, what does everyone usually come here for;.....,,,the beer! They have a pretty large variety of their regular brews, (IPA's, lagers, stouts, sours, Hefeweizens,,etc.,) plus some rotating seasonal beers. They brew one of my all-time favorites, Floridian, and that is what I always get unless I'm lucky enough to come here when they have the Tropical Floridian which is even better in my opinion! They also just started offering some seltzers that actually come with THC! (I haven't tried those yet!) Overall, Funky Buddha is a great place to go and come hang for happy hour, have dinner, or even come and meet new people. They usually have lots of games on the scattered tvs and they have board games and table games that you can bring and play at your table. It's a very cool place, come and check it out, I know I'll be back next week!

I stopped by Funky Buddha Brewery on a weekday afternoon and had such a fun time! This place has a really cool and relaxed vibe -- lots of space to hang out, indoor and outdoor seating, games like bocce ball and giant Jenga, and plenty of people enjoying flights and pints. The atmosphere is casual but lively, ideal for grabbing drinks with friends or unwinding after work. The beer selection is awesome -- they've got everything from quirky flavored brews to solid classics, and the staff were happy to talk through options and recommend something based on what I like. I tried a few different pours and really enjoyed the variety and creativity. The food from the kitchen paired well with the beers -- small plates like pretzels with beer cheese and sliders were tasty and hit the spot. It's not fine dining by any stretch, but the menu compliments the beer experience perfectly. Service was friendly and helpful overall, though it felt a bit busy at times so drinks took a minute to come out -- but nothing that killed the vibe. The crowd was a mix of locals and visitors, which made it feel like a fun, social place to spend a few hours. Only reason I'd knock off a but I won't is that some drinks weren't quite as flavorful as I hoped (everyone's taste differs), and on a packed day the service/slowness was noticeable. But still a great brewery spot with character, good brews, and chill energy. Would definitely go back!

    Tuna tostones. Delicious!!

I have to admit, it has been a few years since I have visited this brewery. I attended often in its very early years, and then it kind of fell off my radar because it's not super close to where we live. But when my friends and I decided to come here for happy hour, I was reminded of all the reasons why I loved this place initially. They have a happy hour that ends at 6:30, and there's a special discounted menu for some great appetizers, including a hamburger. We had a bunch of shared appetizers, and the major standouts were the pretzel, eggplant fries (OMG good!!), and the tuna tostones. Even though the brewery was quite busy, our server was attentive and made sure our orders went in before the 6:30 discount deadline. Of course, their beer is still as good as all those years ago. I was not aware that the original owners had purchased their brewery back, so I'm happy to see that it is truly a locally-owned brewery again. Funky Buddha is just as hopping as ever. There are murals on the wall, depicting local Florida scenes and the beer brewery process. There are a mixture of differently sized tables and couches to suit any party. I know there are also spaces that can be reserved for large gatherings. There is a decently sized public parking lot outside that's free. I am glad I had a chance to come back here and enjoy their great beer and food. This place is back on my radar, and I will return soon.

Cool little spot with inside and outside space . Basic bar menu. Good vibes . Service was ok , it was crowded .

I've been coming here for years and it is hands down the best place for a good beer and a meal. Everything is delicious and freshly cooked, the service is always friendly and the ambience just can't be matched. If you are in the area, give them a try. I used to live 5 minutes away and went there all the time. Even now that I've moved out west, I still go any chance I get. A really great place for food and drinks.

After 8 years I finally made it to Funky Buddha Brewery. A friend had a birthday party and I stopped by. This must be the largest brewery hall in South Florida. The bar counter is huge and there are a lot of long tables perfect for parties. The interior street art and murals are super cool. Obviously the Funky Buddha logo is prominent in beer bottles, t-shirts and walls (Maybe sacrilegious to Buddhists...can you imagine Funky Jesus Christ crucifixes at Funky Jesus Christ Brewery?). Food was basic bar fare and bites, mostly fried. It was ok, nothing memorable. There are a lot of beer drafts and bottles to choose from. Hard liquor is also available. Crowds were having fun, almost a frat atmosphere. The loud freight and Brightline trains running past about 15 feet from the brewery add to the funky ambiance. Perhaps the best is the City of Oakland Park's large and free parking area across the street.

My boss and I needed a spot to cowork, so we went to Funky Buddha Brewery, and it was such a good choice. I ended up ordering their wings and totally forgot to snap a picture, but wow... easily some of the best wings I've had. I was expecting a wet rub, though I don't remember the exact flavor, but I'll definitely be ordering them again. The atmosphere was lively with a few groups clearly having a great time, making it a perfect spot for either lunch or dinner. The food was amazing, the service was great, everything was clean, and I loved the decor. I'll absolutely be back.

Mid-week girls' night at Funky Buddha? Say less. We stopped into Funky Buddha with some girlfriends and somehow stumbled straight into a full-on Mardi Gras party. Beads were flying, music was pumping, and I'm happy to report I did not have to show any naughty bits to earn mine. A win is a win. Even better? The beer was ice cold and the wings were on point. I come here pretty often but realized I've never actually written a review -- and that needs correcting. The vibe here is just plain fun. It's the kind of place where you'll see every type of customer -- families, friend groups, date nights, young professionals -- and everyone just seems genuinely happy to be there. I love spots like this. No pretension. Just good energy. If you're stopping in, grab a beer (or two), some fries, and absolutely do not skip the pretzels. They're elite-level snack status. And while you're at it, pick up a T-shirt like I did so you can strut through town repping your brewery pride. It's basically community service. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, the prices are fair, and the location is fantastic. If I were a young professional, I'd absolutely want to live in this area. But alas, I am a domesticated wife -- so I'll just keep visiting instead. Cold beer. Tasty bites. Mardi Gras beads with dignity intact. Highly recommend.

The Asian salmon salad (half eaten already if I'm honest)
    J'aime M.

The pretzel was more like a bagel. I enjoyed the Asian salmon salad. It was good but I usually expect a salad to be mainly greens. This one had mainly buckwheat soba noodles (GF but I'm not sure about the teriyaki sauce). Waitress at the bar was prompt and attentive so it worked for us! ETA: I accidentally gave this three stars, but I realize my mistake and it now has four stars. The soba noodles were great. I meant to say I didn't expect it. I apologize for my incorrect initial rating.

Great brewery with fun vibes! Aesthetic & Ambience: 8.5/10 fun laidback bar, very open and spacious. Can get a bit boisterous and also has a live band some nights. Service: 10/10 We had Cat as our server who was kind, informative and attentive! She was even able to change one of the TVs to watch a different game. Drinks were great had a Floridian and a martini.

I came back here in February had the absolute worst experience reached out privately to the company…read moreand they have not ever responded back to me. They were understaffed on a Friday night and had no table service but you had to place your order at the bar. Well the first time I placed an order at the bar it took over 20 minutes of standing and waiting. Everyone sitting at the bar got priority even if they just sat down and the bar tenders had noticed me waiting. At the end of the night my elderly mother was standing at the place of the bar to take orders wanting to close out our check. The one woman bar tender took someone else who came up afterwards and then left leaving my mother to stand there for more time. After my mother expressed she just wanted to close our tab she was rudely told she just has to wait her turn. I eventually came to my mom asking what is taking so long. When the woman finally came over my mother repeated again she just wanted to close out our tab. She rolled her eyes and handed us the bill, my mom then mentioned she had been standing there for a really long time which was enough to set off the woman. She then started yelling at us that she knows how to do her job and doesn't need to be told how to do it by someone else then told us we paid and to "Get OUT!!". I'm sorry I run a business and have supported many local businesses and I have never in my life experienced or treated customers that way, even when I wanted to. At this point I was not standing for this attitude and called over what looked like the bar lead over to discuss this disgusting behavior. While talking to the lead/manager about the situation it was hard to get a word in edgewise since the barmaid that was able to ignore us standing around for 20+ minutes kept coming over to continue yelling and getting more and more irritated. Probably because her little power trip of trying to embarrass us to get the hell out didn't work and now her behavior was being discussed. I run a local bookclub that has brought in large groups of people multiple times on dead nights into VooDoo. If this is how anyone is allowed to be treated I will not subject my members to such treatment. We were not offered a refund and they charged us full price while we were there during Happy Hour as well. There are too many breweries in a rock throw if this place and other places that treat me well that I don't need to go back. If you want a better recommendation go to Black Flamingo. This could have been a different outcome if one employee who should not be in any form of customer service or working with the public had simply said "sorry we are crazy tonight, training a new hire and busier than usual I'll be back as soon as I can" or "Hey, where are you sitting? I don't know how long I will be since it's crazy busy I'll come to you when I'm available" would have changed the whole situation completely.

So it isn't unfunny to see a bunch of "straights" huddled together as a minority group in what is an otherwise gay community. I finally got the chance to check them out one afternoon when I was in the area. Brewlihan Mead is a 1,700-square-foot mead house and tasting room owned by John and Stacey Hoolihan. John had a background in science education and started out brewing as a hobby. What turned into a passion became a business. Brewlihan Mead is the first commercial meadery in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Mead, sometimes called honey wine is an alcoholic beverage made from three ingredients: fermented honey, water and yeast. It is the first alcoholic beverage consumed by mankind and is believed to predate wine by nearly three thousand years. Since the taste of honey can vary by region, mead can have a diverse and complex flavor profile. To make the mead at Brewlihan, the water, yeast and honey is placed in fermentation tanks with fruit and then aged in oak barrels for 2 to 5 months. You can take your mead to go in cans or they have a nice bar inside the tap room where you can enjoy your drink. I took my mead home and while I enjoyed all of it, my favorite was Winter in So Fla which truly evoked the tropical feel of a winter in Florida. Mead is a great alone or as a pairing to a meal. If you are a mead enthusiast they have memberships for $300 with a host of benefits listed on their website. Whether a casual or refined drinker of mead, you are sure to find something unique and delicious here. John and Stacy are so warm and friendly and this is the kind of science I really enjoy.
