The last visit has given me a reason to take the next step and write a comment as their customer service was outstanding. Through a mutual miscommunication, the wrong replacement tire was ordered and placed on my bike. I only noticed this about five weeks later, and went in hoping they might switch for the desired tire with some discount for the replacement. Dan, the owner of the shop apologized and went much further than I had expected in ensuring my satisfaction in the overall experience. In 2026, to have this kind of old school (i.e., proper) customer service is rather exceptional. This kind of service requires customer loyalty in response. I will always come to Dan for repairs and future purchases. I heartily recommend that anyone who needs bicycle repairs do the same.

Performed a quick fix to get me back without causing more damage, then re-opened the shop so I could leave my bike to be repaired. By the following afternoon they had replaced/repaired the broken drivetrain components and had the bike in better working order than when I first brought it home. Lightning fast. The really kicker is they only charged me $25 for all of it. Parts and service. I don't really leave reviews on businesses. Their prices were reasonable, and we ultimately did purchase a bike from them because we wanted to support their organization. Unfortunately, the customer service experience was disappointing. Throughout our visit, we felt rushed, and it seemed as though our basic questions were more of an inconvenience than an opportunity to help customers make an informed purchase. We left feeling that customer service was not a priority. While I respect and support their mission, there are several bike shops in the Charleston area that provide much better customer service and take the time to answer questions and assist customers. A great mission and fair prices are important, but so is treating customers with patience and respect.
