Buyer Beware Our experience with The Big Screen Store and its President, Jason Brager, was extremely disappointing. We purchased two Parker House "Parker Living" genuine leather chairs, and one arrived with puckering leather on the arm. Despite repeated requests, Mr. Brager refused to send anyone to inspect the chair, replace it, or offer a refund. His communication was combative and unprofessional throughout the process. Only after several days of continuous emails and filing a dispute with our credit card company were we able to secure a full refund. I also reached out to the furniture manufacturer, and they confirmed that it is not the quality that should be expected. Be aware that this company is not customer-friendly. Their approach seems to be to wear customers down and keep as much of your money as possible. Mr. Brager even stated that used floor models are the "barometer" for new furniture quality--meaning if you see flaws in a used floor model, you should expect the same flaws in your brand new purchase. We would never do business here again, which is unfortunate since we were long-term customers purchasing more than 6 high-end televisions and a leather Palliser sofa before this experience. Also found this same brand/color chair at Homegoods for $399.99 without any damage, which is more than $100 less based on their "sale" price plus delivery! Bought a 85" TV, sound bar & credenza! Was promised a manual, never received it as we are senior citizens and told a salesman we had trouble upstanding setting! Also paid $750.00 for the credenza only to realize it wad damaged and again was promised someone could come out & try to repair the door or replace it, again IGNORED! We were considering buying furniture thete for our basement but after the way we were treated we choose not too. I had a great experience purchasing a Samsung TV. Prices were competitive w Amazon and Best Buy (I have to credit Samsung for that as I understand they control advertised pricing). You do not walk out w the TV, they deliver it. The end result for me was free delivery and they gave an extra year of warranty for free. Bought a TV and had delivery guys in my basement. They were noisy and I asked them to stop because of an ongoing presentation by my son. We asked kindly, but the delivery guys continued. My wife asked them to leave because they refused to stop. The delivery guy called my wife all kinds of names. The TV was returned and the poor customer service from the delivery person and the response from the sales-team was similar. This was a huge mistake. I really was trying to support a local business. I walked into the store two years ago knowing exactly what TV I wanted. They had a six months same as cash going on I use that to finance. The TV work great for two years. Christmas Eve the TV wouldn't turn on I remember I got the extended warranty I called the big screen store I got the number to the claims department Saturday after Christmas tech is at my house looking at the TV. Monday comes I get a phone Saying the repairs were expensive that they were gonna go ahead and replace the TV. Tuesday the big screen store called me and tells me that they're replacing my Q 70 model with a Q90 model who doesn't like a free upgrade. That is not a concern working with Jim at the Glen Burnie location. Not only did we get the best price available for our beautiful, new 65 inch Samsung Frame TV, Jim thoroughly educated us on what we were considering and answered every question we had. We are happy to drive from Annapolis to Glen Burnie to work with Jim. His friendly nature and professionalism make buying big ticket items so much easier. If it wasn't for writing this review, this store would not get any stars. Negative stars should be an option. This store needs to go out of business. Which I'm sure it will happen much sooner than they think. How many customers were in the store when you were in the store???!!! Hhhhmmmm... They are frauds, crooks, & Liars. And it's all your fault when you have a complaint. The General Manager is a narsasistic manipulator that thinks he is King & no one is above him. I filed a BBB complaint, of course the whole thing was not published. TBSS forged my signature on this installation checklist, and they used it against me; continued to say that I signed it & that I was so happy with the work done of the installation, which was so bad. Pics to come of that mess. I signed a cell phone screen which was a huge box. They continued to claim that I read it & that I chose not to read it. They lie so much that they can't keep their stories straight. So what, I complained days after the install. I have a job & a life. They added items to my receipt without my knowledge. My question is... if it's on my receipt, doesn't that mean that I am getting charged for it?!?! They claimed they added what was needed, but discounted me. I don't know what kind of math these people use, but I'm not that stupid.... 50+9.99 =59.99. Not 57.16. Dont buy from this store, don't get anything installed, don't open a credit card with these people, they are fraudulant arrogant crooks. They don't care about you as a customer. They care about that green stuff you pay with, that's it. Oh and they called me a liar. They wanted to come back to my house to fix it the way that I wanted. I want to apologize to the management here for the heinous crime of considering bringing my business to this establishment. In this age of digital marketplace consumerism, I only see one reason to patronize the traditional brick and mortar shop: customer service. Disappointed that my guaranteed delivery date of an online order at a competitor was pushed back nearly a week, I was open to canceling the order should I find something better elsewhere. I was not given the opportunity to do so at this store. In the time it took for me to take one daughter to the bathroom and back, my wife with my other two children had been rudely informed that since we weren't interested in buying what the salesperson wanted to sell, he was not interested in showing anything at all to her. Also, he made it clear to her that my son so much as touching their $8000 TV on display was a problem. Apparently they are either selling electronics made of paper, or worse, they are not confident in their wall mount stability. Worse because the only reason I was there was to see what they had for mounting my whole set up on the wall. I have learned from my lapse in judgement and shall not be returning again. read more

Had a great experience buying my tv, but when it came to the instillation process that I paid for, I got less than sub par treatment. The two gentlemen who were tasked with setting my tv came into my house pissed off and surly. When I asked them questions they gave moody answers that didn't really assist me in deciding which of my equipment I should keep. Then after talking about my amp for a couple of minutes one of the installers said, "uh you didn't think we were responsible for your blu Ray or amp? We don't do that. If you want that done it will be $75." This is not what I was told when I had left the store. I was told that the installers would come to my house and set up my tv equipment, amp, stereo, and mount my tv. I would also be made sure I was checked out on my new remote. None of that happened. The individuals who came to my house wanted $275 to mount my tv. For a grand total of $495 they would set everything up, but I was sure to get an attitude with it. All in all, bad experience, very frustrated with the misleading information I was given at the store and the poor employee performance when they arrived at my house. Best Buy, here I come! read more

This was my first visit to the store and I will say I was a little bummed out that my father had brought me here because the day before I went to another mattress store and had my heart set on a purple bed. As soon as we walked in we were immediately greeted by Suzanne. She was phenomenal. I explained to her what I wanted and she found it for me. Luckily enough the first bed I tested out was the bed I ended up getting. Everything she could do for my father and I she did. That's the kind of service that will keep bringing me back to a store. I had a very bad experience. Purchased a brand new 85 inch TV from the store and told the manager that I was also looking for another TV, but was waiting for the price to decrease. I also explained that I did not want an open box TV. A few weeks later, I went to the store on the weekend and saw the manager, but he was busy and unable to talk at that time. He called and told me that the TV was on sale and I made clear that I did not want an open box. He assured me that he had un-open TVs available. We talked again and I said that I would be in to purchase the TV on my way to work and he offered to have my ticket ready when I came to the store. Long story short, he sold me an open box TV for the price that Best Buy had a brand new TV and him and the general manager refused to make it right. He indicated that my he lighted the sales ticket to show that I purchased an open box TV, but my ticket does not have anything on it to indicate that I purchased an open box TV. The manager refuses to acknowledge our discussion and took advantage of the trust that I had in him. read more

Terrible customer support. We bought a brand new 75' tv less than 3 weeks ago and for some reason the picture is no longer visible. They sent out two guys to look at it for repair and they said it was "physical damage" and they could repair it for $500 more than what we bought it for. The warranty? YEA, doesn't cover this. I went to the Big screen store b/c I knew they have been in business for so long. Well, I was figuring I could get the best advise for a tv purchase. I was pleasantly surprised at the no pressure, highly professional and knowledgeable experience of my salesman Tom Zanni. I found out that the Big Screen Store carries the top of line products in all the size TVs. Buying a tv was complicated for me but Tom clearly answered all of my questions about all of sizes and different features of the TVs. The Big Screen Store surely has a highly knowledgeable employee with the most refreshing professional demeanor. I did shop around a lot in stores as well as the endless amount of information on the internet. I became knowledgeable enough to feel I could confidently make A purchase because of. Thanks to Tom and the crazy amount of questions I asked Ton Zanni I went back to store for third time walked in and told Tom I sure which tv I wanted where do I sign. Then he said there interest free financing which which was great. The Tv was delivered set up for my family. They were very happy and tried to give me a pat on the back for choosing such a great tv but even though Tom was not there I gave him the credit. My daughter was so proud when her boyfriend and our family watched the NFL recently because of such a great it was. We have NFL game day parties plan for the rest of this season. If you have never heard the best surround system around ask for a demo where Tom Zanni waves some electronic device and shows you how authentic music, base and background chatter surrounds you so you feel like you are actually in the stadium. 0 percent financing I bought it too watching tv is like being in a movie theatre. read more

Purchased 2 high end Samsung tv's. One was delivered no problem. One I was asked to pick up which I thought was strange but ok. The box was opened which I was informed was due to a QA chk. Great! Until I got it out of the box and noticed the screen was cracked. I never thought for a minute that it would be my job to prove I didn't cause the damage. I was not treated as a customer at all. After several heated communications I was offered a replacement. Customer service is horrendous. I'll pay a little more if I have to to be treated like a customer during and after the sale. I had done my homework so I knew which TV I wanted when I arrived. I found the set I wanted on display so I sat down to watch it while I waited for assistance. There was only one salesman on duty so I had to wait a while. When Wade finally was available the purchase went pretty smoothly. I got 90 day same as cash financing and was given a delivery date. I had told Wade I wanted the old TV taken down and removed. The delivery occured as scheduled. They opened the box and tested the TV to make sure it worked. They did not install the TV. Installation was delayed several times by weather. When they did come they found the delivery team had damaged the video cable when they tested the TV. Although they were able to hang the new TV and get it working, they would have to return to replace the damaged cable. They left the old set saying they did not have room to take it with them. They came back a couple days later and installed the new cable. Again they could not take the old set but said someone would be out to get it. i waited a week and heard nothing. I called the company that delivered and installed the TV (HDXPERTS) to find out when the old set would be picked up. I got no answer but left a message. No one ever called me back. I finally had to make other arrangements to get the old TV hauled away. read more
