It sort of feels like a cozy campsite in the woods. They offer 24 flavors of Blake's Ice Cream (cones, sundaes, frappes, floats), shaved ice, protein drinks, soft drinks, water. For hot foods, they offer sliders, hot dogs, quesadillas, chicken strips, chicken drums, fries, chili cheese fries, nachos, clam cakes, banana fritters, poutine, and a daily special item. The prices here seem pretty reasonable. There is ample seating and places to enjoy your cold treat and hot foods here including umbrella round table seating (near the shack) and wood chair seating down the small hill along the river bank and also chair seating in the river (river seats), great place to cool off! I stopped here recently while driving through Goshen. I ordered a Pina Colada Shaved Ice ($3), which was a very nice cold treat with a good amount of pina colada juice and surprises at the bottom of the treat, plenty of chewy colorful gummy bears! After looking at the hot foods menu, I decided to order some food to go! I ordered the Saturday Special which was a Lasagna and a piece of soft Italian bread ($6) and an order of Clam Cakes (6 for $4.50). The piece homemade lasagna was very good, similar to what I make at my home, which had layers of noodles, cheeses, ground beef, and tomato sauce. The clam cake balls were deep fried golden, which had a soft chewy texture with minced pieces of clam in the dough with tartar sauce on the side. The last time I had enjoyed clam cakes was two years ago at a fair in CT. Overall, this place not only serves great cold treats and hot foods, but also offers a unique experience of enjoying your treats very close to or in the Sugar River.

The menu offerings consist of typical drive-in fare and ice cream treats including burgers, hot dogs (Nathan's All Beef Hot Dogs), chicken nuggets, fries, and grilled cheese sandwiches. Gifford's Ice Cream (17 flavors of hard scoop), 34 flavors of soft serve, shakes, floats, sundaes, banana splits and Pepsi products. The prices are reasonable here. There is also free religious literature on the counter. I ordered a Chili Cheese Dog ($3.95 plus tax), which topped with plenty of thick dense meat & bean chili and shredded cheese. The hot dog had that snap biting in and the chili on topped was hearty and filling, with a slightly spicy flavor. The chili was warm and not too hot. The bun was soft and slightly chewy. Wile things were good under the old reign, the new management has turned this restaurant into a gem. Of particular notice is it timeliness and quality of the pizzas they make. Crusty bases. Fresh vegetables, high-quality cheese. It used to be that upon ordering, you would wait 40 to 45 minutes before you could pick up your pizza. Under the new management, the wait time has been sliced roughly in half. And always, service with a smile. This store recently applied for permits for a total remodeling, including extension of the kitchen, reducing indoor spaces, and expanding the outdoor space as well as joining it with the ice cream shop next-door. When all is done and complete, this outstanding venue will be an even better place to enjoy food.

I unfortunately forgot to take a picture of the turkey panini I had but it hit the spot and was sooo yummy! I also failed to take a picture of the rest of the cafe but it has these beautiful stained glass windows that my friend pointed out could be a sign of the cafe having been an old fashioned soda and ice cream shop back then. A lot of the buildings in this little square look to be renovated/updated to fit today's aesthetics while maintaining the foundations of the old fashioned, from decorative stained glass to gorgeous Victorian ceilings.
