What impressed me most was the staff. Three young students were working that day, and they were some of the most poised, cheerful, and courteous attendants I've encountered anywhere. One young man immediately understood what I was looking for, gathered everything efficiently, and his colleague had us checked out in no time. In a region already known for friendly people, their professionalism really stood out. The bakery itself was sparkling clean, and I appreciated that the tables were spaced farther apart than is typical, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Next time, I'd love to stay and enjoy a meal there. And the scones? They're some of the best around--always seasonal, always delicious. If you're planning ahead, pick up some clotted cream from the Lebanon or Hanover Food Co-op along with a jar of strawberry jam, brew a pot of tea, and you'll have a treat worthy of an English afternoon tea.

I got coffee and a croissant and spent some time sitting by the fireplace in the living room portion of the coffee shop. Some of my friends came with me and we really just enjoyed our time catching up over a coffee and pastry. It did end up getting really busy so make sure to come either during the off-season or early in the morning. The coffee was really yummy and the croissant was scrumptious too.
