This is the BEST place to purchase thoughtful gifts that will last. I left with gifts for my family AND for myself. We live about an hour from the store, so I have to plan to make sure I can get birthday, Christmas, graduation, congrats gifts on time but it is sooooo worth the effort and the trip. They carry inexpensive items, moderately priced items and expensive items, all featuring birds & butterflies - from baby board books to gorgeous puzzles to handcrafted yard art to glorious chimes & fancy birdfeeders that send squirrels sailing through the air (the squirrels do not get hurt). Their selection of birdseed is amazing. Becky was a lot of help and she was kind to my toddler. I thrilled with my adorable hand-crafted "bird house" artwork and I'm impatiently waiting to give my DIL her gifts. read more

I am sad for the people who let one bad experience keep from shopping at this wonderful store. Everyone has a bad day. That is not an excuse for not giving customers the attention they need. I can say that this has never happened to me in this store. I have shopped there since it opened. The service has always been excellent, the products first quality and the array of merchandise from simple, get the job done to high end items that anyone would love to have in their yard. A really bad experience merits a note or call to the owners to inform them of your complaint. Done in a respectful manner, this is helpful to everyone. After all of those years of being a loyal customer why would you choose to shop somewhere else because of one bad experience. I wonder who was really having the bad day??? Great store with a variety of products. Birthday and Christmas gifts. In addition to bird seed has flags, small and large, mailbox covers, bird baths, decorations for your yard. You can also get books and puzzles for your little ones. All that we have purchased has been high quality merchandise. The store owner is knowledgeable about his products and is an avid bird watcher. Can give you tips on what food to put out for different species of birds. Also has bird seed feeders that keep the squirrels out. They have recently lost a couple of faithful customers. Previously, our family had been fairly regular customers, and we were thankful to have this store in our area. We had even contributed a picture of an unusual bird sighting (taken at our home) to the bulletin board. But the most recent time we visited, we were treated rudely. We were interested in buying a new, good pair of binoculars. But the man we usually dealt with was off that day. And the lady at the checkout seemed uninterested in showing us a pair of binoculars. We had a lot of experience in this area, had done good research in "Birdwatchers' Digest" as well as reviews online, and had in mind what we wanted. Since we are longtime birders (a quarter of a century), it was an important investment, and we were willing to pay as needed for the best. We had expected to buy them from Bird Watcher Supply. But she seemed bored with our questions and comments and said "We probably don't have what you are looking for" or words to that effect, even though i was looking down through the glass at something of great interest, and said so. So we eventually went elsewhere, and spent several hundred $$ on the binoculars we consider a lifetime investment. So they lost not only customers but a big sale. We have even taken birding vacations such as going out West for Hummingbirds at Sierre Vista and Crane Festivals in Colorado. We take our birding very seriously, and we'd have given them lifelong business. But since they aren't interested in our business, from now on, we'll give it to someone who is! read more
