We had a great experience with The Black Tux! They sent everyone in the wedding party their tuxes 10 days before the wedding, which gave us plenty of time to try them on and request any adjustments. When needed, the new pieces arrived within 48 hours, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. I definitely recommend going to a local Black Tux showroom to get measured. Most of our guys got measured at Men's Wearhouse, and their sizing didn't quite match The Black Tux's system -- that was the only small hiccup we ran into. My now-husband, our dads, and all of the groomsmen looked so handsome -- the tuxes were sharp and fit great after adjustments. One of our favorite stories from the day: my brother-in-law (and best man) was having such a blast on the dance floor that he accidentally ripped his shirt, and The Black Tux didn't even charge him! They told us they were just glad he had fun -- truly above-and-beyond customer service. I'd highly recommend The Black Tux for any wedding or formal event. At first visit the experience was fine fitting my fiancé for his suit for our upcoming wedding. They were nice, we thought they knew what they were doing or atleast pretended like they did. Was charged and told that I can find all the information online where we can add our bridal party and their suits. When getting home, the website had many hiccups, tried to call the store, was stuck on hold for 2 hours then via hold was told that emailing would be a better option. Started an email conversation and kept being told that they were looking into issues with their website. Second visit to the store in Natick for another fitting for some of the bridal party, all men paid for their suits, I decided to check online, and all of our information was erased and messed up. The person in the store ended up deleting our father's selections and gave them the same look as our groom. Once again tried to call, was on hold for hours and then emailed, was told they were going to put a ticket in. With this being the second hiccup decided to cancel and get our refund. Called the store again was on hold, finally got through to a customer service rep, who was great and very apologetic. This rep told us that the person in the store entered many names and emails wrong and refunded us. I would not recommend The Black Tux to anyone planning their wedding. read more

"The Black Tux: Where Dreams Go to Die in Polyester" My son and I walked into The Black Tux with high hopes and Nordstrom-level expectations. After all, it was inside a Nordstrom, and Nordstrom is synonymous with class, style, and customer service so smooth it could sell ice to a penguin. But, dear reader, let me assure you: The Black Tux is no Nordstrom. It just rents space there--like that weird guy renting your basement who insists on calling it his "creative studio." Our "consultant"--a lethargic grad student with all the energy of a tranquilized sloth--greeted us with the enthusiasm of a DMV employee on their last day before retirement. He told us this was his summer job. Oh, we could tell. It was either this or collecting shopping carts in a Walmart parking lot, and judging by his "help," the carts might've been a better fit. We expected a refined, knowledgeable tux fitting experience. What we got was a DIY crash course in Tux Guesswork 101. When we asked the lad to confirm our measurements, he gave a big, "Yeah... we don't do that. Liability or something." LIABILITY?! We're not asking you to perform surgery, buddy--we just don't want our pants to split during the Electric Slide. Then came the tux selection. My son, who enjoys the finer things, asked to see their best black tuxedo. Our guy waved toward a rack that looked like it came from the clearance aisle of a funeral home going out of business. Turns out, "the finest" black tux was also the only black tux. Everyone else in the store was trying on the same exact style. It was like a bad prom flashback. At this point, my son wisely said, "I'm out," and promptly ordered a Tom Ford tux elsewhere. Smart lad. I, however, persisted like a fool. I tried to complete my order while this intern drifted in and out of consciousness like a narcoleptic meerkat. Then his Wi-Fi "broke," so he suggested I go home and do it myself. Why not? I've always dreamed of assembling my wedding tux the same way I order cat food on Amazon. That night, I lay awake and realized: I'd probably end up showing up to the wedding dressed like a ring bearer. So I tried to cancel. Here's where the real fun begins. Go ahead. Try to cancel an order on their website. I dare you. I double-dog dare you. You'll find yourself in a digital escape room designed by Satan's UX team. I've cracked the IRS portal faster than this. I finally called. First attempt: 30 minutes on hold while driving. Second attempt: another 30-40 minutes before the sweet Jasmine answered. Jasmine was kind, and I want to make it clear--this isn't about her. But when I explained everything, she informed me that I'd not be refunded... oh no... instead, I'd get a store credit. Yes, because I can't wait to rent another dismal tuxedo at 63. Eventually, Jasmine did her best and promised she'd talk to management and issue a refund. Have I seen that refund? As of this writing: nope. But hey, I believe in miracles. In the end, I marched my fed-up self to Bonardi's in Sturbridge--where the clouds parted, angels sang, and they treated me like James freakin' Bond. Crisp tailoring, real consultants, actual service. You know, like it's their job. So, if you're looking to rent a tuxedo that screams "junior prom at a medieval dungeon," by all means--go to The Black Tux. I don't write reviews. The service here is so bad that I was compelled to. First off they tell you that you must go online to book an appointment, however there is 0 weekend availability no matter how far you go out. So I decided to try my luck to get measured and show up in person. There was 1 guy "working" or should I say just standing around on his phone who tells me he can't measure me as they are by appointment only. When I ask if I can make an appointment with him he says go online and book one myself. Thanks for that. I decide to get measured elsewhere and when I try to purchase the suit through the website I get told I have to wait 2 weeks as they are out of stock. The 2 weeks come and when I go to checkout it still says out of stock. When I get in touch with customer service they tell me it'll be in stock December 31, 2029!!!! I wanted to give feedback on this service. As the groom, I was stressing out on how I would get my groomsmen to all be wearing matching suits. The biggest challenge was that they were all coming from different parts of the country and some even from other countries. Looking online I found the Black Tux, went to Nordstrom location in Natick, MA to see how legitimate the business was before signing us all up for it. The service was great, the employees there (shout out to Rain and his coworker) were super helpful and made sure all my questions and doubts were answered. We booked the service, there was such an easy way to track on the website status of my groomsmen's orders to see when they sent in their measurements and booked their rental and I even benefited from the awesome promotion of my suit as a Groom being free given the size of our party! The suits arrived well before even the set 10 days before the event, 1 suit jacket was too tight for my best man and he called and quickly got sent a better fitting one before the big day. I will definitely recommend this service to friend and folks I know are in the similar situation I was, where I was looking for a rental service with the ability to support groomsmen groups living in different locations. I wish I read Danny H.'s review before I went to this place because I had the exact same experience. It was a complete and utter joke. The person working there could have cared less about the suit fitting properly. I think I probably would have had a better experience at Walmart if they had a suit/tux rental division. Contacting Black Tux corporate about my experience was also a joke. They could have cared less too. I'm shocked Nordstrom would allow such a sub-par vendor to operate in their store. Terrible service. Suit sleeve and pants length was off and they just told us to go to a Taylor and pay for the adjustment separately. Billing and online support is negligent at best. I ordered 2 suits and decided to buy one. I returned the other. They charged me for both suits. To be very clear, had we not come in, our sizes would have been way off! They got us fitted, gave us some insight, and our tuxedos were the best fitting of the 10 total groomsmen. I was unable to get fitted for a tux due to lack availability, while a woman literally sat at a desk without a customer or foot traffic insight. It was a great experience overall - I scheduled a 15 minute block to get fitted for the tux, it arrived about 2 weeks before my event and looked great. After the wedding, I simply put it back in the box it came in, peeled off the shipping label to reveal the return label, and dropped it off at UPS. My only complaints were that I had to book out a couple weeks in advance to get a fitting window, and at the time Nordstrom was under construction, making the fitting area difficult to find. So so disappointed in this tux rent at Nordstrom's. My son rented a suit/tux for an April24th 2021 wedding, he received a TORN shirt. He immediately went on line to order a replacement, even paid 40.00 for overnight shipping. No shirt came. No confirmation! 2 days before wedding he is running around looking for a matching shirt. Take about stressful. Its his sister that is getting married. I called the number on the insert that came with his suit and the recording said they shut their phones off! Unacceptable ! I proceeded to call Nordstrom's, asked for the manager and was put into his voicemail. I left a message, no return call! I called again got a different number for Black Tux. Same recording. This is just not a way to do business. My son had to pay 40.00 on top of the $168.00 to buy a new shirt elsewhere. I hope everybody reads this review. Disaster. Couldn't get fitting reservation at reasonable time at Nordstrom so ordered online. Should have received tux last weekend but didn't. Called yesterday and they said it would be sent out this week. Called today to double-check and was told they are out of stock. Would I like to choose a different style? They seem to be out of black tuxes. Spoke with supervisor and she promised to call me back in two hours with a solution. No call. Called back and was told she's in a meeting. Save the hassle and can't believe they get good reviews. Maybe for people that don't have a specific color scheme. Let me begin by saying the thought of this is nice but they sold out of my suit 6 weeks before wedding after going in to a Nordstrom's months before having everything set up and we have color picked out. When groomsman went to check out a few weeks later it was sold out. The women at Nordstrom's said I was all set and suit available all set up on account. After speaking to someone from corporate they said she wouldn't know it was sold out or it would get sold out. Then why have me go get measured and waste a day picking out suit. Now it's 6 weeks before wedding and I have to go find another place to rent a suit. Save the hassle go somewhere else. There best option "just rent a different color suit". I went to The Black Tux two months before my wedding for a fitting and style consultation. With COVID everything was extremely short stocked, but they worked with me to secure the suits for all of my groomsmen and ensured that we would have them in time for the wedding. The fitting process was seamless, and the guy really knew what he was doing when suggestions sizes, styles, and colors schemes. I originally wanted to buy my suit but the fabric choice I went with was too high in demand and they were only renting out suits, not selling them. About 2 weeks before my wedding my suit arrived in the mail. I tried it on and was actually amazed at how well it fit! The shirt they provided fit amazingly as well. All four of my groomsmen had an extremely flattering fit as well, and three of them rented the shoes and belt and we were all surprised with the quality. None of the items showed any evidence of wear and tear, which I sort of expected with a rented suit. Highly recommend them! read more

My now husband and I scheduled an appointment to get him fitted for his tuxedo. We were quite impressed with how knowledgeable the sales rep was that helped us. The fitting was seamless and quite helpful to see the finished look before anything had been ordered. We really liked the process of adding "your look" to your account and then all those who receive the email can order all items predetermined by the groom. We had the tuxedos mailed to our home and they came 2 weeks before the wedding as described. Not one member of our party had issues with sizing. I had read that others received their tux and needed it to be steamed; we didn't have that problem. I was so impressed with how tailored the tuxedos looked on our wedding party. And after the wedding was over everyone left their tuxedos with us and we were able to return them all very easily in the box they had come in.
