We've lived in Newton for quite some time and needed to purchase a suit for our wedding also taking place in Newton. We thought it would be nice to purchase a suit for the groom right in our neighborhood. We had discussed going to Moshers for quite some time and decided to get the ball rolling last weekend. We were hoping to find something we liked, get information about timeline and then come back in a few weeks for measurements as we weren't *quite* ready yet It was very hard, nearly impossible, to get any of our questions answered. It felt as if they weren't going to make the sale right then and there then they couldn't be bothered really speaking with us. It was very odd and off putting. During our visit, the owner asked us "are you wealthy" -- which was incredibly weird and felt as if he was looking down on us. I've been reflecting on the whole experience for about a week and really don't want anyone else to feel the way we felt during our attempt to make a purchase with Moshers :(

He would shout, my mother would try to hold him back but anyway... I'm still here, an old man but still here. So take that. Where was I again? I remember the age of Patti Page, the age of fast-talking, ciggy smoking, bitch slapping men. What ever happened to the dean martins of the world anyway? What happened to the world of ford sunliners and plymouths with tailfins and dads playing ball in the front lawn in fitted suits? My dad used to huck the ball at my head when I dropped a ball. Said he was trying to make me into a star ballplayer. Well, my friends, Milton's is the store for men. Not just any kind of men, real men. The men of the past. It even smells like the past in here too. Kind of like my pappy's root cellar, mildew included. That's really not the point though. Here, you can find all your fine suited needs. Wingtip shoes, fedoras, seersucker pleats and belts to boot. It is almost like the past, but it lacks something. Maybe the fear of god or of communism. Sometimes I come here to feel more at home in a world gone mad. Cheers.

In searching for someone who sold Tommy Hilfiger suits and could help, Milton's came up as one of the results. Taking a chance, I called the Chestnut Hill location and talked to Joe, who was filling in at the location. Let me tell you, for someone who is in full panic mode to talk to someone as knowledgeable, calm and willing to help was a God send. Joe took the time to listen to what I needed. He helped me with finding something that would work for the groomsmen and went above and beyond to make getting them shipped to me easy. I also spoke with Tim, who was friendly, knowledgeable and a tremendous help. Today, retailers of any size seem to be so focused on the amount of the sale to increase profit, they forget about what the customer actual needs. Milton's is not like that in my experience. They helped a guy from over 1100 miles away that is only going to spend $300 dollars like he was the most important customer. Thank you Joe and Tim, I appreciate more than you.

I was in the market for a new pair of classic jeans having lost a few pounds recently and having gone down a size...(yay). When I entered there were no other customers in the store. There was a worker just standing by the door. I don't know his name but he has shoulder length wavy brown hair. He was doing nothing but standing there. There was a women behind the register counter folding clothes. No greeting from the long-haired guy idly standing by the door. I asked him about the type of jeans I was looking for. He said "We don't have them," I asked about another style. That style happened to be exactly where he had been standing so he grabbed a pair in the size I asked for. I asked about another style and he vaguely waved me over to the area where they were hanging. Off I went to try on the first pair. I had been in the store before so I knew where the dressing rooms were but he didn't know that and offered no assistance in pointing the dressing rooms out. While I liked the jeans, I did not like the color of that particular denim wash. I returned to the guy still unmoved and still standing idly by the door leaning on the rack of hanging jeans, and asked if it came in a different wash. He said there were several washes but he only had one other darker one in the store. The rest were available on line. He could have mentioned the other wash he had in stock when he handed me the first pair of jeans. But that would have required effort that it does not appear this guy has in him. This guy could not have been less interested in helping me. The second darker denim wash was what I wanted so I took those in my size and headed to the register. The young woman at the register was lovely and greeted me warmly. When she went to ring the jeans up, I noted that the darker wash jeans were more money than the pair I had tried on. I asked her about this. She said: "That's odd" and turned to the still idle long-haired guy for an answer. He bothered himself to walk over to the register to mansplain to me that "it is very common for different washes to come at different price points." Really?? He then said: "The company may have just decided that the darker wash should be more money." None of this sounded very convincing. I said: "Is there anyone who might know for sure who you could call to ask?" Apparently not because he just looked up the item in some book and confirmed that the darker wash jeans were the price on the tag and therefore more money. I did purchase the jeans but it was an unfortunate interaction. I had been in this same store about 3 weeks prior to this visit...again it was soon after the store opened and again with no other customers yet. The only worker that day was this same long-haired idle guy. At that visit too he was idly standing but at the register. Apparently nothing in this store needs folding, or straightening by him. During that visit I was just browsing but at no time did he ask me if I needed help. I walked out soon after, purchasing nothing. This guy seems like he is "phoning it in." Whether he is a salesperson, a manager or a wooden post for the Levi's corporation is unclear to me. What is clear is that he demonstrates zero customer service, zero friendliness and zero helpfulness and 100% bad attitude. Maybe I wasn't his hipster demographic and he couldn't be bothered. He comes across as bored and acted dismissively to me the customer. When I do need another pair of jeans I will take my business elsewhere. Who needs this nonsense when I am spending money and helping provide this guy with a job and salary? These experiences are the antithesis of the previous 5-star experience I wrote about here with different sales staff. Long-haired Idle dude: Find a job you like and are good at. You've made this store a hard pass.

I rented a tux from here to attend a friends' wedding. When I was there, people were telling me I…read morelooked like James Bond! Looking good is part of the mission... The tux and the shoes were also very comfortable. When the dance floor at my friends' wedding was opened, I started dancing and grooving with abandon! The tux performed its duties marvelously. The shoes, though, are the real MVP! Tearing up the dance floor did not tear up my feet! (especially that area between the heel and ankle) The service here was polite and efficient in helping me pick out the tux, get measured, then at pick up getting everything adjusted. They were also flexible about me moving the drop-off date one day later. Drop off was painless also. Tuxedo Time doesn't appear to be the cheapest. All in, the rental cost me $235. However, money isn't everything, and a tux rental isn't a daily, monthly, or even yearly event. Looking good, being comfortable, and having an overall pleasant experience means I won't hesitate to rent from here again should the need arise.

Incredibly unprofessional and terrible suit. I went in for a custom wedding suit and came away…read moredisappointed. I worked with habib, who spoke a big game and failed to deliver. To start, I went in to choose fabrics and get fit. They talked about how I came to the perfect place and that they could do exactly what I envisioned. Everything sounded great. During the fitting for my double breasted suit, I mentioned that he seemed to be fitting it super loose, which is not the look I was going for. He told me that's how a double breasted suit is supposed to fit and to trust him because he has a lot of experience. Okay then. When the suit finally arrived, big surprise, it didn't fit and they had to make alterations. Okay, no problem, right? They'll do the alterations and have the suit ready for me next week, guaranteed. I'll have the suit in time for my wedding no problem. Next week comes and I don't hear anything. I send an email and no response. I finally call them and they say that they'll have it ready tomorrow. It's 5 days before I leave for my wedding but I think that should be okay as long as they did the alterations correctly. The next day comes, I'm waiting for a call and don't hear anything so again I call. They tell me that there's a delay and they'll have it for me tomorrow, guaranteed. I'm starting to get annoyed but okay. The next day comes and AGAIN no word. I finally call and they say they've been unable to reach their tailor but that they promise they'll hand deliver it to my apartment tomorrow. It's two days before I leave and I'm freaking out. I ask them do I need to scramble for something else and they reassure me they'll have it tomorrow. Honestly I guess it's my fault for trusting them but big surprise they don't have it. I don't hear anything once again and have to call them. They finally admit they don't know if they'll have it and that I should come in that day for something off the rack that they could make work. I am full on panicking at that point while at work, trying to figure out how do I find an appropriate suit for my wedding in an afternoon. Later that afternoon, for the FIRST TIME, they call me to say that they heard from the tailor. They say that they can have it tomorrow for me. Again, I leave that day and they have continued to lie to me so I am demanding that they get it that day or give me the address to go pick it up and the sales rep starts insulting me, telling me to relax and that they'll have it the next day. They drop the suit off the next morning. It didn't fit how I wanted. Worst experience ever. TLDR the sales reps were incredibly disrespectful of my time, failed to ever communicate and many times outright lied. They almost ruined my wedding.
