The owner of this business was very professional, observant, and completed alterations on each piece with exceptional attention to detail. She was reasonably priced for the quality work and even made sure to show me why a snap on clasp is more secure and will last longer than a hook. The Theory wool skirt was impressively hemmed around the sides and length was perfect. It has a delicate lining, so I appreciate the extra time spent to make it look right on the inside as well as the exterior. My Derek Lam tank has some thick braiding so it must have been hand sewn vs machine. The spacing in my armpit area was just right. With pieces like this on petite women, a few millimeters off can become a huge error/incorrect fit. I am very happy about each of my pieces and plan to return with more alterations now that Ive found someone I can trust. read more

I came in to have 2 pants fixed and she quoted me $40. When I picked them up they were not fixed at all so I took them back. No quote. I assumed they would fix their mistake for free since I had already paid. When my caretaker went in to pick them up, she charged $20 and resisted giving her a receipt. I then had to call and complain. She said she would return the money. When I went in for the $20 she said she would only give me $15 bc she had to replace a hook which wasn't true but I have a chronic illness and just didn't have the energy to keep fighting. Maybe they normally do good work. But they are expensive and will try to cheat you if they mess up. I'm surprised they don't have a worse reputation. Total con. read more

Bonnie is spectacular. You would be crazy to take your wedding dress anywhere else. It took us about 7 fittings to get my Vera Wang dress (from David's Bridal) JUST RIGHT, but she stuck with me, did everything in perfect time, and helped to guide me through the process while listening to exactly what I wanted. It is clear from day one that she has decades of experience and that you are leaving your dress in excellent hands. Every time I came in I found something else that I wanted to be let out a half inch or lifted a smidge, or whatever and she was completely understanding. She wants you to look and feel SPECTACULAR on your big day... truly. She restitched the hand sewn lace, added cap sleeves, worked with six layers of difficult fabric, and made my dress everything I could ever wanted it it be and more... all for a very agreeable price. I brought in my bhldn (sawyer gown) wedding dress to bonnie. Initially I felt concerned it was too tight around the waist- she advised me to exchange it for a size up and from there was able to make it fit absolutely perfectly. I went for several fittings and each time and noticed small tiny details and made sure to fix them (wrinkling on the front, the length, etc). She made a bustle as well. I ultimately also brought in a skirt to wear on top, last minute and she was able to make it fit and put little hooks on it to make sure it held in place. At the end, I feel so happy and confident in my wedding dress and so excited to wear it - all thanks to bonnie and her teams amazing work!! They were absolutely amazing as well in terms of being accommodating with times to come in, staying late some days to make sure I could come in. I would definitely come back any time!!! I think I may have been able to pay a little less elsewhere, but for the final result and convenience the price was worth it. She told me it up front and there were never any changes or surprises. While Bonnie is nice, and the work is good, I am giving this one star because of the customer service. I took my wedding dress to this shop a couple months before my wedding. The first time I went in, she made adjustments to fit my body, and we set up for me to come back in three weeks. When I went back for the second fitting (10am on a weekday), they were closed. The door was locked, the lights were off, and nobody was inside. I double checked my book to make sure I was correct, and I was. I called back the next day, spoke with her. She half apologized and we set up another time. Now I have worked in customer service, so I understand that mistakes happen, and that it helps to be gracious, so I shrugged it off. But here's the bigger problem. When we had the second fitting, she adjusted the length, bust area, and hips to work on, and told me to come back in three weeks, and I would be able to take it home. When I came then, she handed the dress to me, I went in the room to put it on, and saw that NOTHING had been done to it! The pins were still where she left them, and no adjustments had been made. I went out in the dress, and when she came to look, her face fell. Without commenting on it, she smiled and asked me to come back the next day. I said I'd be back in the morning, and left. At this point I was furious! Mostly because she did not even apologize or own up to the mistake. And the dress had just sat untouched for three weeks. I went in the next day hoping to receive some sort of compensation, and while I was waiting, I saw one of the employees in the corner, working on it. It STILL had not been finished. She then handed it to me, and it fit great. She then said thank you, and tried to send me off. I quietly explained that I was unhappy about what had happened the day before. She acted as if she didn't know what I was talking about, but said she would give a discount. She handed me $20. Roughly 6% of what I paid her. At that point I thanked for for the work and left. The quality of the work was great, and because of that, I think they are getting overwhelmed with business. She seemed flustered with most people who came in. I would recommend her for the work, but it's pricey, and you may not get great service. read more

Being shaped like the result of a botched genetic experiment designed to create preposterously lanky dudes, I've had to have a LOT of clothes altered. I've purchased a suit jacket, a sport coat, and an overcoat at the Garment District and ( as I had checked to make sure there was extra material under the hem) brought them to Bonnie to have the sleeves altered to cover the lower third of my comically long arms. The alterations were done when she said they'd be done, for the price she quoted, and never needed tweaking. The work seems a bit pricey, but if I purchased those three things alone new, I'd have spent literally hundreds of dollars more. And that's pretty great. read more

Very happy with Bonnie's work. I took in a ginormous ball gown bridesmaid dress to be altered, and she made it fit like it was made for me in the first place and hadn't ever been retouched. She had me return for multiple fittings (after making sure I was located in the area and was willing to come back) to make sure it was perfect, and her attention to detail is both refreshing and rare, as is her cheery attitude. Definitely a hidden gem, and highly recommended. Be warned though, you will definitely pay- my alterations bill was almost as much as the dress cost originally. But the price reflects the quality, and when you're dealing with something as high profile as a wedding (or as dear as vintage), you definitely want the best, and Bonnie's it, period. I went to Bonnie's Boutique for the first time after being recommended by a friend and reading good reviews online. I brought in two dresses to be altered, one of which was a bridesmaid dress. When I went back to pick up the dresses two weeks later Bonnie had me try on one of the dresses while trying to find my bridesmaid dress. After staff were rummaging around looking for my dress, they came back with two of the same dresses in different sizes. Bonnie kept insisting that one of the dresses was mine, even though it was in a different size and it was covered in deodorant stains. I had to show her my receipt from the store I bought the dress on to get her to give me my dress in the correct size. My dress had not been altered and had nothing done to it in the two weeks she had it. She was not apologetic at all and I had no time to take the dress somewhere else before the wedding. She offered to alter it that day and only took $10 off the $90 price she was charging me to add cups and do a simple hem. I had no choice as the wedding was in a few days so I agreed to this. Once I got the dress back she had done such a terrible job altering it. She put two stitches in the cups and they were falling out and need to be taped in order to stay in the dress. When I went back asking her for money back she got annoyed at me acting like this was all my fault. Not to mention the fact that she altered another girl's bridesmaid dress to my height and was trying to force me to take someone else's dress. She was not apologetic at all. I've never had such terrible customer service and will not be returning to Bonnie's. I had no choice but to fix the dress myself after paying all this money and her only solution was to give me a measly $40 back.
