We went to Blackberry Brasserie to check out the atmosphere during happy hour. We had a wonderful time! My husband tried the flatbread. With pepperoni and hot honey. I had the blackberry, ricotta, and basil flatbread. I also enjoyed the house margarita. We loved it all! Our waitress was attentive and made a mean drink! Mimicking similar reviews...service was not the greatest. I didn't appreciate the table next to us being served drinks before us, despite placing our similar drink order before them. We were pretty much done with our entrees, ready for our check, when the waitress arrived with our drinks. We went for brunch. The blackberry mimosas were AMAZING! The service was terrible. We ordered our drinks and an app pretty soon after we sat and didn't get either for a very long time. In fact, we got our meals about 5 minutes after our apps and our drinks soon after. The food was almost great. It just needed a bit more seasoning and my steak in my hash was very very fatty and grisly. We also didn't get our second drinks until our food was being removed from the table even though we ordered it well before that. Also the restaurant was not busy at all. Our waitress needed more training on paying attention to her customers as she walked by us several times and didn't even ask if we needed anything or look our way. It was good not great. I would probably not eat there again. The restaurant seemed dated and dark. Many tables were empty on a Thursday evening. When we were seated we were immediately told that the smash burger was sold out, which was fine. We paid $8 for cornbread and it was very over cooked. It was dry and crumbly. The smoked sea salt and butter were good though. My salad was a "staff pick", the arugula one. It was extremely bitter. I love the nutty bitterness of arugula, but it did not pair well with a bitter dijon dressing. I might suggest a sweet champagne vinegarette or creamy balsamic. My steak was a NY cut. The mashed potatoes were room temp and not creamy at all. Very starchy. The steak had Amazing flavor, but wasn't tender enough. The pork chop was also delicious, but not tender. I felt like overall the food is on the brink of being amazing. Just need some tweaks! Within 30 minutes I had a major stomach ache , but i could just be sensitive to the cooking oils they're using. As for the service, it was also good not great. I was never asked/brought a refill unless I asked for it. And i had to ask twice because the server forgot on the second time. We were only 1 of 2 tables for this particular server so I was hoping for outstanding service. He was very kind though! I'd give this place a 5/10 for now. They were out of their holiday selections as well as ingredients to make certain adult beverages, and they were completely out of bread, including buns for the burgers. We ordered the Brussels sprouts as an appetizer and they took a full hour to come out. They brought them to us just a few minutes before our entrees came out. Husband has smash burger. He said it was delicious, it certainly looked so. I stole a couple of his fries which are usually the cold forgotten side, not so tonight, they were warm and crispy. A pleasant surprise. I had the country fried tofu, it was very good but maybe could have used a bit more sauce. We both had salads - a house and the prong both were delicious and not so big you couldn't finish it. We had cornbread- very good, could have skipped the tallow - just didn't seem to pair well, the butter and salt were plenty. Then we got the cheesecake to go. Huge slices and delicious, not to heavy!
