They do offer a delivery service at great rates and the delivery guys were awesome. The love seat was completely wrapped with blankets and strapped in. You could see the extra care taken transporting it which I really appreciated. You see, I don't care how many years a person's family has owned a business. I don't care whether you're a bulldog or a pirate, or how many sporting events you attend. So, I didn't make mention of how "sports supportive" the owner of MBH is. He took it VERY personally. To date, I've never seen a business owner go to such extremes to try to change his "yelp" image. It's kinda funny when you think about it. The lack of customers should be an indication that I wasn't the only dissatisfied local or otherwise consumer! The reason I deleted my first review was after noticing that one of the biggest irritants had already been addressed. For more than 3 decades the place looked like little more than a junkyard and was a major eye-sore right on the main highway through town. While the outside seemingly has been picked up a bit, I thought perhaps my review was too harsh, even though I don't imagine it got cleaned up by choice. I'm guessing city ordinance. THEN... I started reading the reviews posted immediately after mine --- you know those kind that have ONE review and one GREAT thing to say about ONE business? Not fishy in the least! And, the last time I was inside the store... it looked so awful I actually offered to come in and do a little decorating. Once again, I was met with RUDE! It does not take a barn or warehouse feel to find value. Value is first in how you treat customers and visitors. That should be enough said. The owner showed us around, took his time with us and applied no pressure. We did visit another store in Coos Bay and one in North Bend. Bargain House keeps it real -- no nonsense, no pressure and really great mattresses. The mattress we chose was definitely the best value we could find in Coos Bay. I found that when I told each of them that I wanted a firm mattress they all wanted me to lay down on the ones they had there on the floor and try them out. They all huffed when I said that that wouldn't work for me because the truth is, every dang one of them would all feel good at that moment after a long day and that I really wouldn't know for sure until after I had slept on it for 8 hours. And of course, they all assure me that theirs was the best. So, after all was said and done, I went for the firm memory foam mattress from The Mattress Company. The gal gave me the best deal and she threw in the recommended mattress protector for cost, and, I liked her attitude, humor and personality after having to put up with me and all of my nonsensical questions. So, after a few months of getting use to the firm memory foam mattress I like it pretty well. I dont expect to have to go mattress shopping for quite some time but when I do need a new mattress my first stop will be The Mattress Company.
