A great job from start to finish! I had light filtering panels quoted for my sliding glass door, to soften the eastern light. Aiden worked with me on my requests, having the panels fully expose the door when open, filter the light when closed, center split, with the potential for sliding the side panels to the middle to allow a narrowed opening for light, view, but some privacy. Installation went smoothly, we are working on the side exposure but it looks very possible. I'm happy with how responsive they are, and willing to try out some of my oddball ideas. Our house has never looked better! We recently got new windows installed and knew it was time to replace our plain white vinyl roller blinds in the house. We were on the cusp of calling The Blind Butler when we decided to get a quote from Costco (Graber). To our surprise & delight, The Blind Butler was the company who was contracted with them! The experience of the free consult was all I needed to make my decision. Aidan was knowledgeable, helpful, and really fun to work with. I probably looked through every single swatch he had, and had a couple on non-negotiables on what I wanted. We ended up choosing faux wood blinds in the kitchen, light filtering roller blinds in most of the house, and blackout roller blinds in the office facing the street. Being custom blinds, it does take 4-6 weeks to deliver, but it is absolutely worth the wait!The installers, Omar and Jr, came through and quickly and efficiently installed everything. No mess, and every blind works like a dream! The cordless lifts allow super smooth raising and lowering. The light filtering has some sort of sorcery that somehow lets light in, but doesn't let people see inside your house. The blackout blinds are DARK, and keep our house cooler in the hot sun. To top it all off we're getting a Costco cash card (like a gift card) that is a percentage of our purchase, so the value was great. We had a patio cover build by The Blind Butler after a consultation with Chad. We initially felt very confident in the company and their work but that all went downhill. There were some hiccups with the permit and scheduling initial permit inspection that were not a big deal but did delay the build. Once the build was started, things got worse. The build was outsourced to another company who did not follow the initial plan or permit and they placed 4 beams instead of 3 and drilled them into the cement. Initially, Chad tried to blame the patio material supplier for sending an additional beam but eventually took ownership and offered a slight discount. A few days later, the patio and our cement were "fixed." The patio did turn out great, but the cement patching looks terrible and the caulking on top is sloppy. Also - while fixing the patio, the workers were smoking cigarettes non stop in our backyard and left buds all over (we have multiple small children) which just felt very disrespectful. From there, communication dropped off. It's been completed for weeks and there has still not been a final inspection by the city (due to failures on Blind Bulter's part). We've been told multiple times "I've never had the city care about (xyz) or the city is behind." I called the city myself who said they are not scheduling behind and that they are following a very standard process. Although the patio cover looks good - I wouldn't recommend due to the headache this has been. Hopefully this is a learning opportunity. read more

The Blind Butler was the installer/provider of Graber shades through the Costco program. The experience was great - from the first phone call to set up the appointment, to the installation. The salesperson, Kathleen, was thorough, professional, and patient with our design decisions. Once we had all our bids, we selected the Graber brand because it had the colors and functionality that we preferred over others that we saw. It was not the cheapest bid of the three we received, but it had the value we were seeking. Kathleen came back for a second visit to allow us more time to confirm our colors and she reworked the quote to make the cost even more affordable (3 blinds on one headrail, things like that). The installers showed up with plenty of notice and were polite and efficient. They made some final adjustments for us and left with all the old shades and everything cleaned up really nicely. Everything from the initial consultation to the installation was seamless and we never felt any purchase to purchase blinds through them over their competitors. It's even better that they are a local & family business who really do show how much they care about their customers. After making an appointment, Aidan came out to our new home and began by asking what our style was in addition to our budget. We told him we wanted shutters throughout, but could compromise with shades thinking shutters were pretty pricey from other blinds companies. He gave us that quote, but then relayed that for not much more we could just do shutters like we originally wanted. Awesome! We fully expected to have to compromise on several rooms based on previous quotes from Costco/Graber which were more than 2x the amount he quoted us for! In addition, he actually brought samples out to us to touch/feel/test unlike the woman from Costco/Graber (3 Blind Mice) who only brought her laptop for the consultation assuming only terribly captured photos would suffice. After we agreed on everything Aidan took speedy measurements of all the windows and gave us temporary shades to give us some semblance of privacy at no additional cost! Because we chose shutters, we were due to wait at least 1 month before they arrived and could be installed. Fast forward 1 month, the team came out (super nice guys too btw, but didn't catch their names) and installed the shutters. They got the job done with caulking to boot within an hour!
