They tell me I can't give plasma until I get a paper filled out. I asked if the place doesn't fill it out since it's been so long then what's next? The girl told me that I must be doing illegal drugs then if I don't want to get it filled out! Like wtf! Like maybe they have a whole bunch of crack heads that go here or something but I need this money for school and Anyways how the fuck will somebody just straight judge you when they don't even know any of the facts to why I came Here! Their videos are always saying they need plasma to help people but obviously they don't need it that bad.. but I get the paper filled out and the place faxed it over and I called Biomat and they said they did not get the fax. I go back to the Aspen clinic to get the paper I dropped off and I return the paper in hand and they had the nerve to tell me they can't take it from me that it has to be faxed. Like why?! I have the damn doctors signature on it and they can literally call them if they think it was messed with. Worst experience ever. Even more, when I came here the first time a manager that was doing my head to toe check off told me if I refer somebody I get another $100 added to my card. I had 2 people go in to refer my name and when I asked them where is my referral money they tell me that I don't get it!! Like wtf so who took my referral money because it wasn't given to me. The BioLife app is so easy to use. That's where you schedule your first appointment and then schedule/modify all your appointments. My only complaint is that tracking your debit card spending is not easy through the app. Not the employees' fault of course though, so still 5 stars.

Upon being cleared to give again, they provided information on how to reactivate it. I have always been treated with respect and care by Vitalant staff. I have gone to the location to give several times, and absent one experience, I have always found the staff professional and easy to work with. My negative experience was surrounding a manager scolding an employee for a brief error, and the scolding was in front of me, thus causing the phlebotomist to be a little flustered. I was contacted and informed her of my view that this was unprofessional and disruptive, and she simply did not care. But aside from that one person, everyone else has been a joy to work with. Currently, due to a probable computer overheating issue, the building is closed because of a fire. Thankfully it was seen and no blood was lost. They are operating outside and in their mobile units. Most recently, i gave in one of their busses at work. Staff was easily able to handle the fluctuation of people, explained what they needed, the sticks were painless, and we were in and out with no issue. Please, if you are able to, be a donor. Some blood types have only a 1 day supply on the shelves... give life!

I usually go on my lunch break but they go slow and I have to wait 30 min after my appointment time before they called my name but at that point I had to leave because I would be late for work. When I lost my job and needed money fast I was nervous to donate plasma but I had a good experience…read morehere. People are nice. Takes a few hours to onboard but after that the initial donation takes about 45 min, an hour if you're not hydrated enough. The more hydrated you are the quicker the process. You get more money the more you weigh so it's nice to finally be a big girl somewhere. Some people I've met say they feel bad afterward, I never have but I eat and drink water before and after. It's usually cold so wear jeans. Of course during the day it's not as busy as after five, but they literally stay open to clients up until 6:59pm so they pretty much expect people to show up until that time. You can go up to twice a week with one day in between. I don't recommend walking there or like exercising before hand because if your heart rate is too high they won't take you. But you do have the option to rest for 15 min to see if it goes down. They even have a bus stop right in front of the complex. If you donate enough to receive 600 or more those don need to be counted as income on your taxes so remember that. Great option if you want free money for having plasma. Can't donate if you have seizures, on certain medication or have recently lived with someone with hepatitis c.

Rather than get better trained or experience they'd just rather get you $10 for three sticks and call it a day! And one of these people who is a sit in manager (Josie) can NEVER stick me!! That is not fair to long time customers. Also, for express pass donors, everyone does it differently. I've been coming here over three years and had to earn my place in the express line. I sat in the long regular line while people in the express line came in and went before me. NOW....certain people will call people between the regular and express line. That is not fair. There were only two people in the express line at 7:00 am this morning upon opening and me and the other person were in line outside way before 6:30 am and the regular donor got called BEFORE ME in line and he didn't arrive to the donor center until 6:50 am and was behind both of us in line yet got screen before me. I don't like how this place is shadily operating. They need to get EXPERIENCED phlebotomists and pay them well enough to keep them on staff, not overwhelm them by leaving them on the floor by themselves and PERHAPS they won't leave for better jobs! ‍ this is ridiculous and I'm about fed up!! I waste a lot of gas driving to this place twice a week and I did not come all the way here just to stand outside for forty minutes before they opened only to pocket $10 for my time!!

Two weeks later, my daughters arm is still black and blue and swollen and when I called, they continue to stand by the fact that you do leave the tourniquet on the entire time of the donation. I've donated at the Blood Center and at a few different off site locations. My latest donation was at Lakeside Mall. I happened to be there and the giveaways were pretty cool. A Tricentennial TShirt?! I'll take it! A box of Russell Stover's chocolates?!? Yep, that's me! The brick and mortar location is sort of dingy looking, but it's clean. There are drinks and snacks for you after you donate. Take advantage and have some to ward off any lightheadedness. The phlebotomists here know what they're doing, so follow their instructions if you're a first time donor. They won't steer you wrong. I feel like I'm giving back when I make my donation and always hope that if i, or my family is in the situation to need blood that it will be available. Bravo to these folks for doing what they do and helping out the community.
