First time at The Blossom Cafe & what a delightful experience! Fantastic place for large family gatherings. Love that they had Easter specials and everyone could order à la carte, even including from the regular menu. The freshly baked warm bread delivered to the table had super spreadable butter. Every entrée came with a soup or salad, I agree with the recommendation to upgrade to French onion soup. The leg of lamb special was super tender. They definitely know how to do their sides well, from the fresh made mashed potatoes, to the chunky, steamed vegetables. I had enough for a full meal in leftovers afterwards! Bustling restaurant! Busy parking lot in a large strip mall, but I found a spot and headed inside. Almost all tables and booths were occupied at 1 PM on a Wednesday afternoon. My party was seated, menus and water provided promptly. There's an extensive menu, with numerous tempting selections for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I opted for the California omelet, a delight of veggies including tomatoes, onions, mushrooms and avocado; topped with tasty cheese. Delicious! Been there a few times and finally realized that I haven't done a review. Parmesan encrusted New York strip steak. Absolute 10/10 can't tell you how good this steak was compared to other steak places. Chama Gaucha is still my go/to but for $30 I think this was a great bargain. Most recently went and had the Philly chicken sandwich. It was decent. More like grilled chicken strips put in a bun. Tons of onions, and green peppers that were grilled to perfection. Steak fries are very good. Went last Sunday and tried the ceaser salad. Outstanding. Could've been a bit bigger considering the price $15, but a good salad. This place was awesome. I've been here for banquets where dishes have been preselected for me, but I got invited to the restaurant section for the first time. Amazing food, very clean and pleasant ambiance, and very friendly and attentive service from our waiter Patrick. I had a Sunday special- half slab of BBQ ribs and country fried chicken. Most restaurants have cut back on portions, but with all it came with I was not able to finish. Great business. Only thing I could add is that I wish they had a vinigarette based dressing. read more

My friend heard that this place has good food, so we decided to try it. Parking near the restaurant is limited. The restaurant is in a strip mall so there is other areas to park but a little ways from the door. When we entered, it was dim not sure if it was supposed to be that way or they did it for lunch. You would think that dimming lights would only be around dinner time, but it was when we entered. There were people waiting for tables, so the entrance was crowded. Good thing we made reservations as we were seated right away. My friend and I were catching up so the waitress had to come by a couple times to check on us to see if we were ready. She didn't rush us, but we felt bad that we were talking more than reviewing the menu. Once our order was placed, we received some warm bread and melted butter. When our food came, it looked delicious. My friend ordered a club sandwich with steak fries and the sandwich looked good. I ordered the Irish Benny with crispy hashbrowns as I requested. Our group of 15 (which includes several couples) dines out at least twice a month. Before making a reservation, the first thing we do is ask the restaurant if they will give us separate checks. We had dined at Blossom Café previously and separate checks were never an issue here. Most recently, when we called to confirm our reservation, we were told, "No problem, just inform your server when you arrive." Upon arrival, we told Assistant Manager "K" that we had a reservation. Eying our group, she scowled and gestured at the very busy dining room. Then, looking in her black book, she found our reservation but for unknown reasons it was lined out. The restaurant was not at all prepared to handle us and we had to wait in the crowded entrance for several minutes while staff rearranged tables. Once seated, we reminded our server about the separate checks. He responded, "No, we can't do separate checks! Only one check per table!" We persisted and he trotted off, returning with a defiant Assistant Manager "K." For several very uncomfortable moments, she made a scene shaking her head and stubbornly repeating, "No, we CANNOT do separate checks!" (had all of us gotten up and walked out without ordering, the Café would have been out $400; so much for her ignorance). We persisted and asked to speak with the owner. But the owner was not present. Finally "K" summoned a manager, who grudgingly said, "We'll see what we can do." A botched reservation is one thing, but reneging on agreed-to separate checks is unacceptable. The food and service were really very good (our server "M" was wonderful) ... and ironically the restaurant handled our separate checks efficiently and without error! In the absence of an apology (oh, but "K," bless her generous heart, comped ONE cup of coffee for ONE vocal individual), our group will not be returning to Blossom Café. And, in the absence of an apology, we will inform others how rudely we were treated. read more

I ordered pancakes and told them to hold the confectioners sugar on it. Needless to say, I got the pancakes with the confectioners sugar. I pointed it out and they brought me new ones. They had forgotten though to include the whipped cream that came with it. So they did bring me whipped cream. When it comes to maple syrup, they give you such a small amount. As I wrap up the work part of my working vacation, I've been staying in the hotel to focus on the business-sy reasons that I'm in Chicago, with food being either hotel dining or lunch set up by the organizers. I wanted to order something different and on the healthy side today and thus ordered delivery from Blossom. My food came within a good timeframe and was pretty tasty. I enjoyed their Grecian Chicken, a rotisserie-style half chicken but with an olive oil marinade and baked-in spices with a side of steamed carrots and a baked potato. The chicken breast was pretty sizeable & with yummy flavor, and the carrot slices had a good crisp from being fresh steamed. The baked potato was just served with sour cream; I'm not sure if it was a limit from the delivery app but there was no butter or bacon to "load" it. Recently went to Blossom Cafe for the first time with my extended family, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc., (party of ~10) and had Gina as a server, and she was absolutely phenomenal. She was calm, attentive, and patient. She got our overly complicated order (with many dietary restrictions) correct, to us in a timely fashion, and made our visit well worth it. Their sausage gravy is basically flour paste-- you would need a magnifying glass to find any morsels of sausage in it-- I would also say that waitperson had a problem understanding basic requests-- like --on the side. The eggs were fine. The fruit that was supposed to come with the meal was a little condiment cup with a grape and a small piece of melon--not at all appetizing. FANTASTIC dining experience at Blossom Cafe! We went here around 2:30 on a Sunday and everything was perfect. Our server was Brian, so polite and sincerely kind. He went above and beyond to give us excellent service! We made it just in time to catch the breakfast menu, which ends at 3:00 PM. We were served fresh bread with delicious butter and strawberry jam as soon as we settled into our seats. We ordered mimosas which was served with FRESHLY SQUEEZED orange juice. We ordered the Denver Skillet- perfectly cooked veggies and potatoes. They served it in a dish that kept the food hot. We also ordered the Chicken Marsala, which is served with choice of salad or soup, a potato dish and veggies for only $20! It was so delicious. Large portions for such an affordable price. I can't believe anyone would give this place less than a 5 star review. We will be back, this definitely will be one our regular spots. The ambience made the experience that much better, dim lighting but not too dark and very comfortable booths. We smiled and laughed our way through our meal, and we kept saying how great this place this! Very nice decorations for Christmas. I go here with family, the place is busy because overall pricing and quality is good. Always come home with leftovers. Always have had a friendly greeting and if I get there first they don't mind seating you a little early if there not packed. They're friendly about doing that. Meals have been consistently good and if there's a mistake such as an over cooked burger they offer to make it right, we had that happen last visit. We elected not to, and they comped us dessert, very nice of them. The menu has a lot of choices, from salads, chicken ribs, steaks and so on. You can bring a crowd here and everyone can find something. One of my favorites is their turkey dinner, it's good, You know when you're craving Thanksgiving and it June, this is your go to. You feel that your visit is important to them and they appreciate you're their and that you work hard for your money, just as hard as they do serving you. We arrived about 11am on a Saturday. The place was packed including the waiting area. Luckily we had a reservation and waited just 10 minutes or so before we were seated. The service was pretty speedy and no issues with drink refills. But our waitress didn't seem very familiar with the menu. Both French toast orders were incorrect. We ordered banana nut French toast ($9.89) and the Cafe Blossom French toast ($9.69) which includes banana nut, challah, and brioche breads. Both came out with just one type of regular bread. The order of banana nut had bananas on top but again the bread was not banana nut. She informed us after bringing it out that they were out of banana nut bread. So of course the Cafe Blossom sampler, which was listed as a menu favorite, did not come out with banana nut bread and had no fruit at all on top. Again the bread on both orders seemed to be regular, definitely not banana nut or challah possibly brioche. We sent the CB sampler back and it came out again with the same singltype of bread but this time it had three types of fruit on top and whipped cream on the side...better but still not as advertised. French toast, classic buttermilk pancakes (4) - $7.19, Belgium waffle - $7.29 are all served with sides of whipped butter and warm syrup. Sides are sold separately; jumbo sausage links or patties (3) - $4.59, turkey sausage patties - $5.19, thick cut bacon (3) - $5.29, two eggs - $3.69. One in our group ordered lunch and had the half rotisserie chicken with soup and two sides - $12.99. The chicken was excellent, moist and perfectly seasoned. Also included was Vegs of the day which was Broccoli and Carrots. Being I have eaten here at least 50 times in my life, I was excited again about the good amount of food for $30. ( So I thought...) Needless to say, I was then told that it was mistake that no I would not get choice of starch, as I am getting the noodles. I said, Ok makes sense. I choose the salad and waited for my meal as I sipped on my $7 ( so I thought) glass of house wine, that I ordered. The Filet mignon/Pasta dish came out fast, and I was so looking forward to the protein! I noticed the Vegs were not brought out and I asked my server, where is it, to which she said, Oh Sorry you don't get the Vegs w/ this dinner. I mean, Wow, kinda double whammy for "Misinformation" & expressed kindly my "bummer-like" feelings. She then said, well I can bring out the Side of Veg but they will charge me $8, so... I'm thinking Ok Cool, charge me for YOUR error. Anyway, I said nope that's fine - I guess my small side salad is my "Vegetable". HAHA. She offered me Coleslaw, I said Sure, that works, No charge of course. I was asked about if I wanted more wine about 3xs, I declined nicely. She asked if I wanted dessert, I said "No thanks, I am short on time." I received the check and caught an error, I was charged $9 for the house wine. GRRRRRRRR! I made note and told her I pointed at the House wine $7, so please fix that. She agreed and was very apologetic and explained the system doesn't even have a $7 option, and so she will tell her Manager. So I got the adjusted bill & immediately slipped my CC in the pouch, leaving it on edge of table so she can see. She was at the booth next to me, casually chatting w/ a solo customer. I waited 10 minutes for her and gave up, took my check up to counter, paid, she got a $5 tip, Oh well, and I expressed to hostess, my disappointment on about 5 points. I like the music right away I would describe it as smooth jazz at just the right volume level. It's too bad other restaurant owners don't take a hint and put on the right music and volume. We were waited on right away and I ordered coffee which was good and fresh, the "Irish Bennie" which is an English Muffin topped with Corned Beef Hash topped Hollandaise Sauce with Hash Browns, and a good-sized fruit cup. My friend ordered the Cafe Blossom French Toast which had three types of French Toast topped with Bananas drizzled with Pecans and Strawberries on Brioche topped with Blueberries.
