I went to AMC Valley Bend to see Minions & Monsters and Toy Story 5 on Wed., July 8. The employees were all very nice and professional! I expressed a desire to see both movies and they were both in theatres next to each other and the timing of the ending of the first movie to the beginning of the second movie was close! I purchased tickets to both movies as well as a beverage and pretzels. I enjoyed the first movie, which started at 1:00 pm and went next door to see Toy Story 5 next. The previews were being shown when Hannah, a young lady who provided great info at the ticket counter, found me and asked if I had purchased a large popcorn. I said "no" and thanked her because she was going to offer to get me a popcorn refill to save me time so I wouldn't miss the beginning of Toy Story 5! That was very kind of her, esp. since I have an injured left leg and the theatre Toy Story 5 was being shown in was at the far end of the building! After the movie, I spoke with Tyler, another great employee, to see if Hannah was available, but she wasn't. I wanted to give her a big hug and thank her for her kindness! She really made my day! I will definitely remember her and I will definitely return here to watch movies! The theatres were clean and the inside temperature was cool! Thank you!

Little kids were uncomfortable and crying and as I looked around, everyone had sweat on their foreheads so it wasn't just me. It had to be at least 85+ degrees in there which is just unacceptable. I will not go back to this theater.

First, they are a coffeeshop with a bar and deli type items, so grindstone fits well with the title. Grindstone Cowboy is a nice play on Rhinestone Cowboy, the song by Glen Campbell in the 1970s. The western feel of the restaurant complements the name. There is also a vintage store attached to the restaurant/bar for those who happen to like a little shopping with their meal. I had the BLT and she had the chicken salad sandwich. I will say I am not a huge fan of chicken salad, but I could eat this one (would not be tops on my list, but I could do it). The BLT was very nice. I added avocado and don't regret that decision. I thought the bread and bacon choice was on point. A heirloom tomato would have popped this up another notch. Overall, enjoyed it. I do feel the pricing is a bit high for a small town diner. Perhaps it is as popular as the social media post suggested? I did pay in cash to avoid the 4% credit card fee. Would I return? I would not go out of my way to get back here, but if I was passing through, I would certainly consider another go if I was in the mood for a sandwich.

They also have outdoor dining space. We hopped from the first floor to the second floor, room to room, and it was a fun experience. There was live music, the gaming rooms were mostly full while the arcade room was pretty empty. This space is also dog friendly, so you can bring your pups. The food and drinks were decent too. When trying to cancel in the summer, DesignLab held firm to their no refund policy even during pandemics. Most legitimate companies have been flexible and accommodating to understand concerns of their customers to allow cancellations or at least postponements. Understanding we live in a capitalist society, it is still frustrating to see local businesses elevate profit over basic decency and concern for local customers.

I feel like the signage should have been more obvious (or have existed in the first place, perhaps) and that was the only con. We got lost finding our way to the event room upstairs too, even with a security guard pointing the way. Now on to the positives. There were far more of those! The venue is a converted mill with some interesting features in the lobby. I love this look, and when an abandoned space is repurposed it's just got that great urban renewal feel. The room we were in was big and open, and even though it has a vintage look it can be decorated different ways and with different lighting to make it your own. There is an elevator so getting up and down is no problem. I would definitely consider having an event here in the future.
