Over the years I have ate here many times and always had great meals when in Huntsville for events at Von Braun center. This year however they drastically changed the menu and now it's basic bar food. Chicken wings bbq sandwiches burgers etc. It's not that they are bad but compared to years past it's a huge letdown . Thus the three stars . Tourists staying downtown are often here for aerospace and defense conferences and we just want more than a burger. It's in a conference center and I understand offering those items but also offer a steak or fish dish as well. read more

A cute restaurant tucked away next to VBC. It was hard to find parking, especially since there was an event happening in the arena so plan accordingly and expect to maybe have to walk from a bit further out. Came here with a friends to celebrate a birthday. They were very accommodating to our large group; the service was great. I ordered the platter, which came with a biscuit, 2 eggs any style, choice of meat (I chose sausage), cheesy hash browns or grits, and a side of tomato. The biscuit was amazing! So crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. I wouldn't describe it as biscuit texture but rather a chewy bread texture but I loved it. And the sausage was very flavorful. The few things I did not enjoy were the eggs and the cheesy hash browns. I ordered the eggs over medium and the yolks were cooked/not runny. And the cheesy hash browns were mushy/overdone. And for this, I can't give out 5 stars. But overall a decent meal read more

Started out on the rooftop bar for happy hour. Had a fabulous strawberry lemonade sparkle. Great spot to unwind. They serve food on the rooftop too. We decided to go downstairs to eat in the restaurant. We all enjoyed our food. Live music that was enjoyable. Not so loud we could not talk. Our waitress was attentive. She asked if we were headed to a show. We were so she was great about making sure we had our food and were able to pay without rushing. We've been to Rhythm on Monroe several times. It's been great, it's been not so great, but if you're going to a show at the VBC, the location can't be beat. Service has always been hit or miss. We've learned to give ourselves plenty of time to be seated and served. One thing that remains consistent is the time it takes to get your check. If you're in a hurry, ask for it before you finish eating. Happy hour is 4-6 Sunday through Thursday. Discounts on beer, wine and craft cocktails - a pretty good deal. A few apps are on special too. I ordered the Tupelo Honey margarita. Delicious. So good that I had a second. I ordered the grilled chicken piccata. It was good but really could have used a little more seasoning. My husband ordered the fish and chips - it had quite a bit of excess breading that he pulled off. We usually share a meal but in this case, the dinners really weren't large enough for two people to share. We met some friends for dinner. One ordered the Ruben - good but not in the top 5. The other friend ordered the Rustica Italian pasta with conecuh sausage. She said the pasta was good but the sausage was just thrown in more as an afterthought. We went to another show on Friday and once again, chose Rhythm on Monroe for dinner. This time I ordered a burger and my husband the pulled pork sandwich. The burger was definitely nothing special. The patties had the charcoal grilled flavor reminiscent of a Burger King burger. The pork was huge. My husband liked it but I didn't care for the sauce. He subbed onion rings for the fries - it was an amazingly large serving of rings. I had the fries. They weren't hot when served so I asked for fresh fries. They were good. It felt like someone wanted the restaurant to be as cold as possible. I ended up sitting at the bar where everything was pleasant. The bartender was very polite. I enjoyed the menu and how they kept with the theatre theme calling out appetizers as "Sound Check" and the soup and salad were "Opening Acts". I was quite charmed. I ended up ordering the Yardbird Jive Club Sandwich which was nice. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the bacon was nice and crisp. The honey mustard wasn't quite enough to bring the elements all together - it was a bit of a dry sandwich - but I also prefer mayo. The whole experience was very pleasant! read more

I booked this restaurant because it is near the VBC and we were going to a play. The menu pictured here looked like a really good restaurant. I was quite disappointed because the menu is a shadow of its former one. No short ribs, no pork chop, no trout, no steak. What is left is basically a sandwich menu. What we got was ok, but not really worth the price. My Nashville hot chicken sandwich was surprisingly juicy for such a small piece of chicken. So, what we have now is a snack bar charging restaurant prices. Will I come back. Absolutely, you can't beat being close to venue but my expectations will be far lower. read more

My husband ordered the Bees Knees - gin, lemon, honey We ended the meal with a Espresso Martini - I like mine with more of a creamy texture. This was very light - but had good flavor. Meal: My entrée was the grilled trout (you can get fried) with green beans and herbed potatoes. The trout was fresh but lacked flavor and salt. The green beans tasted like the steam bag of French green beans you can get at Walmart and microwave. I wish the herbed potatoes were mashed potatoes. My husband ordered the chicken piccata. Chicken was grilled and juicy, green beans were the same steamed as I mentioned before, and the mashed potatoes tasted boxed. Not alot of "wow" factor. Overall a very "mid" dinner not great, not terrible. Especially for $25-$30 entrées. Service: Our sever was very attentive, almost too attentive . We went here for dinner before the Rocky Horror Picture Show, and overall, it was just okay for the price. On the positive side, my drinks were good. I started with a Passion in Paradise, which I really enjoyed, then switched to the $7 margaritas that weren't bad at all. I also ordered a Lemon Drop--I thought I was getting a shot, but it turned out to be a martini. (I always assumed it was a shot, so it was a bit more booze than expected!) My friend ordered a Blackberry Mojito, but it was disappointing--you could tell it wasn't muddled, there was no mint, and honestly no blackberry either, just syrup. Definitely not a proper mojito, or at least a lazy one. For food, I got the wings with PB&J sauce. The flavor was great, but I wish they had been saucier; they were a little dry, and I'm someone who likes my wings really coated, not just a hint of sauce. The vibe of the place was great though, and our server was fantastic--though she didn't check on us often enough. That said, I know she was busy since everyone and their uncle seemed to be there before the show. The service wasn't the greatest was very slow. We waited about 45 minutes to get our entrees. Went there with my family and everyone else had plain burgers. The burgers seemed like the utilized frozen patties would not recommend on the menu. I had the pork chop and it was great, but have not returned since. Sorority sisters and I ate "dinner" at RoM on May 7 before the Judas Priest show at the VBC Arena. We had reservations [their new online reservation system is not Android friendly, so I had to call to make the 530 reservation for 3-not a dealbreaker]. There were intermittent showers that day and we were happy to have an inside reservation. I wanted the chorizo queso dip and our server said, "that's only available on the rooftop." I'm thinking, "you've got one kitchen, it's rainy outside, you have chorizo queso in the kitchen, why not bring us chorizo queso?!" We were about to attend a 3+ hour show and wanted sustenance. What we got was awful! We ordered brussels sprouts, "chicken" nachos, and white cheddar pimento cheese with crackers, carrots and celery. The brussels sprouts were burnt - period. Inedible. We each had two of them to be sure they were burned and our server did not take them off our bill. There are not a lot of spouts on a plate, so I guess eating 6 went over the "we will refund this dish" limit. Which is sad, because he missed a chance to instill a little goodwill in an otherwise miserable dining experience. On to the nachos - in my entire life I have never had such awful chicken, the chicken we feed our cat looks more appetizing than this excuse for chicken. The chicken squares were cold and rock hard, and entirely inedible. They weren't even room temperature! I was running out of patience and could tell the server was over seated. Last time I checked, I'm not in charge of scheduling the servers, so, that's not my problem. Anyway, I stopped him, because, Server 101 is within 90 seconds of delivering meals, the server is supposed to check on the table to ensure everyone is happy with their dishes. He never did this. I stopped him to say, "you never checked on our meals and two of our dishes are terribly inedible." That's when he said he would remove the nachos from the bill but not the brussels. Aren't brussels sprouts fairly cheap? It wasn't like he was potentially comping some Wagu steak. Because we were starving, friend ordered the southwestern egg rolls. This is a long-time standard bar dish, that I'm pretty sure it is not house made. It was remarkably forgettable. The best parts of dinner were the scoop of pimento cheese [even the celery was bad, it was old and limp-ish] and the water. No manager checked on us, and I regret spending time and money here. Serving food that is inedible is completely unacceptable and staff who could care less don't need to be in the service and hospitality business. A restaurant with no Manager on Duty checking on tables is a MOD who doesn't care either. read more

I had the pulled pork sandwich with shoestring fries. Honestly this was just an average bbq sandwich. Smoke flavor was weak and not real strong. Meat flavor was bland. The bbq sauce was more tomato paste with a strong vinegar flavor than anything else. Cole slaw was to be placed on the sandwich, I asked for it on the side. Sadly this was Kia shaved cabbage with no sauce, if there was dressing on it, it was just a splash. The shoestring fries were batter and clumped together, so over all - should have ordered the pork chop that I saw go by to another table. I heard it was very tender and tasty. And the size of it, it was not a pork chop, it was a pork steak. Lesson learned here. Service for the evening was not great. This person was more focused on another table than any other table he was to be serving. Had to ask way too many times to get something or have more drinks. As far as decor, average warehouse look to it. Did not make it to the roof top bar, but A/C felt better on this evening!!!! Maybe better next time. read more

We dined at Rhythm for the first time in celebration of our anniversary. We parked conveniently in the small lot in from of the VBC and were promptly seated for our reservation. The open-air, modern atmosphere was inviting, and we enjoyed a perfect variety of live music throughout our meal. Our waitress was wonderful - incredibly hospitable and accommodating with us having an infant tagging along with us for dinner. We had a nacho appetizer that was delicious and a great portion size. The filet and chicken that we ordered as entrees were excellent, as we were treated to a complementary crème brûlée for dessert in celebration of our big day. read more

I ordered the shrimp and grits to which I asked them not to put any meat in the bag avoid it. The first place that was brought to me had me quite a few large chunks, which I didn't mind removing myself, but the server said she would ask them to Redo. So when I got my second plate the food was cold. I was a bit disappointed because I expected after waiting again, it would be hot. I would not recommend the sweet potato fries unless you tell them to fry it hard. Because they are served in such big chunks. It's not completely cooked to a fry liking on the inside. Staying in the Embassy Suites for a conference. We were tired from traveling and I saw this restaurant was in the attached convention center on Yelp. So we decided to try it. We both got the pecan crusted trout and a creme brulee. The trout, while fried, was a nice sized portion and was flavorful. The roasted string beans were crunchy and lightly seasoned and the the roasted potatoes were good too. The cream sauce on the fish was a great accompaniment to the fish and the sides. The crème brulee was excellent! One of the best I've had. Wasn't overly sweet with a great texture. Service was good despite them seeming short staffed. They had a gentleman playing and singing. His music choice was varied and added to the atmosphere. We enjoyed our visit! read more

I've been wanting to go visit Rhythm On Monroe for quite some time now. I finally had the opportunity when I attended the Brink Universe Lego Fan Expo. The restaurant's main dining area was beautiful and I love that it was so specious and they didn't over crowd the tables. The glass windows were nice and allowed you to people watch throughout the restaurant. Service was good. My server was attentive but wasn't personable. She also seemed to be covering a large section. It wasn't bad service but it wasn't stellar either. The food was great! I enjoyed most some better than others. I wasn't too keen on the roasted potatoes as they lacked seasoning especially the rosemary which was why I ordered them. The cheddar grits also lacked seasoning and flavor. It was very bland even with the cheese. It would have made it better if it had shredded cheddar and bacon on top. My sausage links were good, wished it was cooked a little bit longer. The eggs bennie were great, I actually really liked them and they were cooked perfectly. The bread/biscuits were also very good. The brioche French toast was amazing! I absolutely loved it and will come back just for that. I loved everything about it. It was flaky yet soft and enjoyed the syrup and berry butter. My mimosa was okay. Nothing to exciting. Across the board, everyone from hosts, to cooks, servers and management is as close to perfect as you can get anywhere. You will be pleased, period. WOW! What a disappointing evening?! All due to our server Jordan. He was absolutely horrible. Everything was either late, wrong, or both. We had reservations for three at 5:45. We were seated and 10 minutes later Jordan finally makes his appearance. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. The kitchen server brought our food promptly. However, it was another 10 minutes before Jordan shows up with the drinks of which mine was wrong. It had the resemblance of a dry martini; it was clear with olives and that was all. When he brought our drinks, we ordered dinner. When dinner came, we ordered more drinks. A few minutes later one of the drinks arrived, 5-10 minutes later one more arrived, 25 minutes later, Jordan comes by to see if everything was alright. I informed him that I had ordered another drink, which hadn't arrived. He said and I quote, "they are working on it." I called BS and asked him if he wouldn't mind, "go to the bar and get my drink, NOW." BTW, the food was very good. To the manager, get more staff, but this time get competent staff. read more

Nevertheless I took one on the rocks. Well guess what? They don't know how to make a REAL margarita on the rocks. It sucked. I was told the peach cobbler was delicious. I didn't know peach cobbler in Alabama did have juice in it. It comes with dried peaches with a nice flaky crust on top. The crust wasn't bad at all. The Caesar salad and the live music was good! Was in Huntsville for business on Valentine's Day and came here because most other places said they had no reservations available on the same day. They had a live musician singing. The hostess wasn't very friendly but the waiter was. He was great. Friendly and attentive. The crab dip was really good. Very creamy, seasoned well and the chips very crunchy. The roasted red pepper soup was just ok. It wasn't flavorful and was kind of bland. The pork chop and brussel sprouts were great but the winner was the blueberry bread pudding. We came in for reservations before our concert. We were sat immediately and greeted. Our server Jasmine was fantastic as well as the busser Michael was on it and very friendly. We ordered are dinner and drinks and never went without. Food was okay nothing to rave about. The restaurant was clean and had great lighting with all the windows. Afterwards we went to roof top bar which was not well staffed. We waited at bar but was told by bartender the tables and chairs had service. We were beyond happy with the quality of food and service here. Our server Elijah was top notch. We ordered the trout (baked) and the rigatoni with chicken. Both were superb. We were also celebrating my wife's bday so they provided us with strawberry "crash cake" I think it was called. And it was fantastic! Oh, and the prices are very reasonable too...lots of value to be had. We will definitely be back to sample more of the menu. Made reservations for 3 for a Saturday afternoon, no wait. First the atmosphere: bright, sophisticated, cool, trendy. They have rooftop and outside dining. We dined outside. Wanted to try to the rooftop but it was too hot, as we were told by the hostess that there is not a lot of shade. Now the fun stuff. They have what they call "jam session" which is their happy hour, 4-6pm daily with drinks and app $2-3 off. Started with brussel sprouts and headbanger shrimp, DELICIOUS. The only thing I disliked was the marinated slaw that the shrimp sits on, too much vinegar. Entrees ordered: filet w/asparagus and roasted potatoes, short rib pasta, and chicken tacos. Everything was good except the chicken tacos, chicken was dry. Shout out to Lexie our server; she was great and very attentive. This is such a cute place and a great addition to downtown Huntsville. I went during "happy hour" where all the appetizers and drinks were discounted. I think it was $2-3 off. I bought the mule (forgot the exact name of it) and it was excellent. Loved the taste, you could barely tell that there was alcohol in it. I also got the chicken wings & fries, and they were standard wings lol. Good, but not to die over. I would definitely get them again. My friend had the nachos.
