Extremely friendly staff. Waitress was attentive even in a very busy time. Decor was extremely unique and very cool. The food was delicious and fresh made. Absolutely loved it.

The perfect system for keeping beer orders straight!

After wrapping up an early afternoon hike, we went looking for a place for beers and bar apps. Based upon Yelp, we picked the Blue Rooster. Like many eateries in Hochatown Ok, this one had marginal curb appeal. Upon entry, we encountered a fridge full of dozens of craft beers and a large sign: "It ain't food if it ain't fried." Seating was mostly picnic tables on covered porches. OK for apres-hike, but I wouldn't take my prom date here. We ordered all of their fried apps: jalapeños, pickles, cheese curds, squash chips, onion strings, etc. All were exactly what we expected. Beers and spritzers were interesting and justified seconds. The secret ingredient at the Blue Rooster was our waiter KENNY -- fun, knowledgeable, and quite able to read the crowd and steer us to the eats and drinks we really needed. We all ordered different craft beers in cans, and we were awestruck at the clever way they were presented: with the empty can perched on the edge of the glass. Somebody out to file a patent. On an impulse, I ordered a fried peach pie to go. Piping hot, crispy outside. Perfectly done. Given the **THREE** unexpected surprises (Kenny, the beer ID system, and the fried pie), I am obliged to give the Blue Rooster a 5.

Back patio. Weather was great in October.

The food was amazing. The service was not. No refills, they forgot we were outside. Looked like they only had 1 waitress, but others just standing around. Beautiful scenery outside.

You can order pancakes, omelettes/eggs, hashbrowns, biscuits, and gravy, grits, bacon, sausage, ham, cup of Joe, and OJ. The staff are busy, busting each table with a small smile in hard-working attitude. You'd expect them to call you, hon, sweetheart, or get your order right sweetie. That decor/atmosphere is diner in Oklahoma feels. Breakfast is not served all day from 7 AM to 10:30 AM so we ran quickly and got there at 10:20 to order our veggie omelette with biscuits and gravy and an order short stack, and a cup of Joe. I was given the side eye when I was trying to mix my protein shake so remember this is Oklahoma not bougie or upscale healthy food vibes. They do serve lunch, which it quickly switched over at 10:30 only food I saw from then on out was lunch burgers and etc.. We asked a local word to eat, and this was basically the only place they said to come. You see yourself the waitress brings your menu then you just order, sit and chat then foods brought to you then you pay at the counter. I'd definitely come back. The food was as mentioned typical diner food and it hit the spot.

I can't say I was overly excited because of its location and I thought we be better off getting back to a larger city with more options but he was buying so I went along. I had the burger and curly fries and he had the steak sandwich. My burger was everything you could have asked for. Fresh, big, a little messy because of all the toppings and very tasty. His steak sandwich literally looked like they took a chicken fried steak and wedged it between some bread with all the sandwich toppings. it was huge and he said really good. Service was decent but made better by that small town welcoming feeling and since they knew my friend they were even suggesting things he has asked for on previous visits. As a result of that we went home with more then a full pie to eat later, some coconut cream, some chocolate cream. For a place like this the menu is actually quite large and the feeling of home was evident from the staff and from other diners. Everyone just knew everyone or acted like they did. Overall if you ever get lost and find yourself in Clayton, OK, or I suppose if you intentionally find yourself there this place is definitely worth the stop.

The staff clearly put a lot of effort into providing great service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for customers. However, I've been disappointed to hear how management handles some employee situations. A friend of mine who worked here was suddenly told they were being "let go" despite being a dedicated worker and receiving positive feedback. According to my friend, no clear reason was given for the termination, which seemed unfair and unprofessional. The employees deserve a lot of credit for the quality service they provide, and they are the reason I would still recommend this restaurant. My only concern is with management practices and how staff members are treated behind the scenes. I hope ownership takes steps to improve communication and transparency with their employees because the staff are one of this restaurant's greatest strengths.

I made an illegal maneuver that would've made Dale Earnhardt proud. We ambled down a country road for a short distance till we happened upon a double wide trailer with a sign. I was immediately enchanted. My dining companion was not- he was skeptical and didn't want to try it. I went in to get a menu to convince him and was warmly greeted (my favorite thing!). My cajoling worked, and we got a table. It was early on a Monday morning (and a holiday to boot), so we had the place to ourselves. A sweet waitress helped us with tea and coffee and we decided on chicken fried steak with eggs for me and pancake breakfast for him. Now I'll say this- this is not fast food. But it was a crispy, fresh chicken fried steak just like my own grandma used to make. The gravy was PERFECTION, obviously used bacon grease. I was in hog heaven. And the cook (granny herself, I assume) made sure my eggs were exactly to my liking (runny yolks with no jiggly whites). I wish I lived nearby or had a teleporter. I'd eat that CFS once a week! Definitely worth finding this little gem. Oh, and they told me about their small business gumption remodeling the place to prepare for its opening. Small business is my passion, so I was glad to hear the triumphant story. Check it out if you're in the area! (With a detour off 30!)
