They have a lunch special which is a pretty good deal for only $15.95. They have some good looking eggrolls and are sort of known for their cheeseburger soup. I was in the mood for fish and they offered it 3 different ways. I tried the blackened catfish plate with steamed veggies and twice baked potato with an unsweet tea. My colleagues also all had catfish (but fried) and one of my clients had the meatloaf special. Everything was really good, but I was starving afterwards. The best item was the catfish, it was plump and juicy and well seasoned. The veggies were mushy, twice baked was decent but mainly because of the cheese layer. The hush puppies are standard ones. The fish also comes with a small cold slaw.

Once inside, you'll quickly see it's highly decorated and has a claim to be one of the only trucker themed bars in the US. Inside is decked out to the ceilings with signs, neon, old mirrors, collectibles, and many other items. I swear it looks like it's been in business for 30+ years, but my client said only a couple of years. I looked over the basic menu and saw burgers, breakfast, salads, sandwiches, a famous pork chop, wings and a few other items. The client and my colleague quickly ordered devilled eggs, cheese curds, and chili cheese fries. The first two apps were really good, I didn't try the fries though. They had a burger of the day, and a food special of the day, but I settled on the wings. With those I chose the 10 pc, Buffalo with dry rub, smoked. Kind of a weird combination since most people usually order dry here apparently, but I like saucy wings. When they come out, they are huge and I knew I wouldn't be able to finish them. I think I could only eat 6-7. My colleague had a ribeye steak salad which was a protein bomb he loved, and my 2 clients ordered a big rig grilled cheese which he also loved and a fried chicken sandwich (firebird) which looked really good. All hours of the day from just around 4 pm until midnight hour this place is "happiest of all!" They play so many live bands here! It's insane! Now many times we tried to get a seat but no luck! This is the place. It's always packed and the individuals that come here eating are always dressed up. This is not a problem but it's not a night club. It's a well organized eatery that sponsors the local individuals that play music. They play for the community of Memphis! Now they have food and a full bar. You can dine inside and enjoy patio seating too. This place always busy! So make a reservation. The bar is always packed too! The food is delicious. Drinks and dessert a must. Parking is available on the street or blocks away . It's first come and first serve . We loved the concept of allowing people to play the blues for the community. It was definitely a lively spot, although it was very loud, which made conversation a little difficult at times. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the atmosphere. Our table ordered a variety of items, including burgers, pizza, buffalo chicken pizza, a chicken pesto flatbread, quinoa bowls, and a berry salad. I ordered the chicken pesto flatbread, but it lacked flavor and I ended up asking for hot sauce to give it some taste. There was also a delay when the restaurant ran out of silverware, and we had to wait for plastic utensils. Out of our entire group, the only person who really enjoyed their meal was the one who ordered the berry salad. While the restaurant has a cool vibe and seems like a great place to hang out for drinks, music, and events, the food was disappointing overall.

I'm giving this place one star because zero isn't an option…read more I was in a long rehearsal for a play opening tomorrow. I've had a pretty stressful day and we got out around 8:15. I thought hey...Bar Keough has great food and makes a great old fashioned. Maybe a nightcap will do me good Now...as a backstory I have recently lost weight. So a lot of my clothes are big because I'm slowly trying to replace my wardrobe. This will all make sense in a minute I park and walk up to the door....which we need to just stop and talk about how high that step is. That, mixed with clunky shoes and baggy pants equaled to some stumbling. Also pulling the barstool out it got caught so I stumbled again. Also...I'm extremely clumsy sometimes Of course the bartender was like "I'm not sure I'm comfortable serving you" and I said "Why?" And he said "You stumbled in here, you're obviously drunk" At this point, given my messy appearance and how I walked in, I understood and I told him that and explained what happened. He then proceeds to ask me "How much have you had to drink?" And I said "Nothing, I just told you" and he said "Yeah ok I'm still not comfortable serving you" so I just told him to forget it and left (Stumbling on the way too high step on the way out which didn't help my case) Maybe I wasn't dressed nice enough, maybe he doesn't like clumsy people? I completely understood protecting himself...but to basically accuse me of lying is crazy work Friendly neighborhood bar...yeah ok I will not be returning and I suggest if you do...watch your step and wear fitted clothes.
