I called on Friday to make a reservation for Sunday at 5:30 p.m. for 12-15 people and specifically mentioned it was for my daughter's birthday dinner. Although I never received a confirmation text, the employee pulled up my name using my phone number since I've ordered from Tekila before, so I had every reason to believe the reservation was confirmed. When we arrived, the hostess informed us that no reservation had been made. They were able to accommodate us, but we were seated in a very cramped, high-traffic area that was far from ideal for a large party that included both children and elderly family members. Unfortunately, the service only got worse from there. Our dinner lasted over two hours despite the fact that we only ordered two alcoholic drinks (one beer and one margarita), skipped appetizers, and ordered only entrées. While our waitress was friendly, she seemed much more attentive to another large party she was serving. We had to repeatedly ask for drink refills, small plates for the birthday cake, and to-go boxes. Eventually, our family cleared all of the dirty dishes from the table ourselves just to make room for the cake. By this point, several family members had to leave before we were even able to sing "Happy Birthday" because the meal had taken so long. That was incredibly disappointing for what was supposed to be a special celebration. I spoke with the manager and showed screenshots of the phone call proving I had called to make the reservation. I explained my frustrations and made it clear I wasn't looking for free food or discounts--I simply wanted them to understand how poorly the evening had gone. Their response was disappointing. I was met with blank stares, handed a business card to call someone else, and offered no genuine effort to make things right. As I walked back to my table, members of the staff were looking at us and laughing, which made an already frustrating experience feel even more disrespectful. To make matters worse, our bill included a $30 cake-cutting fee that had never been disclosed when I made the reservation. I refused to pay it since it had never been mentioned, and they did remove the charge. I later called the general manager, who was more apologetic, but I believe she may have been the person who failed to record my reservation in the first place. She mentioned that this is a family-owned business, and I truly hope they take customer service more seriously because the staff's professionalism was extremely lacking. The food itself was just average, and certainly not enough to make up for everything else that went wrong. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. We chose Tekila to celebrate a special family occasion, and instead we left frustrated, disappointed, and wishing we had celebrated somewhere else. I deeply regret spending our time and money here and would not recommend this restaurant for large parties or special occasions.
