Our depth gauge showed the water ranged from under 2 feet to just over 7 feet as we got closer to the blimp storage area. There were lots of water lilies in bloom, which made the scenery even more stunning. A truly calm and scenic spot--highly recommend!

This is a wonderful outdoor park facility! Exploring the trails were the reason we came to this location this afternoon. We did bring our dogs and kept them on leash the full time without any issues! The dogs loved the fresh air & being in nature. If possible I would deduct a half star for the user friendliness of the trails. The trails intertwined, overlapped, & were not marked well for first timers. There was a post with multiple trails at the start & a map. However, there were not any other markers after, even when the trails overlapped & intersected. Overall a wonderful location!! Just plan some extra time to trouble shoot the trails if your a first timer like we were!

Deer Creek Reservoir is a great lake located just West of Berlin Lake, in fact they are just…read moreseparated by a dam, with the water draining from Deer Creek into Berlin Lake. Although Deer Creek is the smaller of the two, it is well worth a visit since it is a great place to paddle or go fishing. The launch is well set up with a cement ramp and a small dock. The lake is limited to electric motors or paddle only. There are several port a potties, a fishing dock, parking lot, and plenty of shoreline benches and tables. I did notice there was a nice hiking trail that led over the bridge by the dam. Did see quite a few people fishing both from the shore and boats. My paddle was excellent, I headed along the dam and then followed the Southern shore which has a nice variety of bays and inlets to explore. The kind of interesting paddling that makes the day really enjoyable. At the North East end you can find the inlet for Deer Creek which will take you through two tunnels under the railroad and the road, which is a cool paddle. I was able to get about 1/2 mile further up the creek before it became too shallow with small rapid, but a great way to cap the paddle. Overall one of the best lake paddles I have experienced in the North East Ohio are, if you are looking for a place to kayak or fish, put Deer Creek Reservoir on your look.

I boil with envy that west siders have such an incredible public park they can visit while I have to drive 40 minutes to get here! Every time I come here, I am always happy to see lots of people utilizing the park. There's a beautiful pagoda, a new and extensive playground, and a great walking trails around the very clean lake. The Berea Public Library is also in this complex, which I will also be giving its own review of 5 stars! I guess Berea resident's tax dollars are being used more wisely than those of us on the east side, haha!

The trail is mainly concrete at the onset, so this can be a little harder on your feet. What I enjoy most, is watching happy dogs, walking the trail with their owners! People are very friendly here and will say hello. This park is connected to a beautiful town, where people are that friendly, so don't be alarmed! On a Sunday afternoon, you will find lots of runners passing you and bicycles too, so just be careful and stay to the right.

Several lakes and ponds. . .in the midst of hilly plains and cascading trees. . .paved running/hiking/biking paths. SAFE. Playgrounds for the kiddies. Pavilions for cookouts. Great spot for dog owners: Dog Park for both large and small dogs. Although, there were many people walking with their dogs on the main path (which is completely fine by me, as long as they clean up any mess). I would recommend to anyone.

I love how the family was linked to the Seiberling family. (Basically they were in the railroad industry and transported their tires). The house is large, but not flashy nor extravagant. If you have children, there is a wonderful nature center with hands on activities, a large playground and live animals such as owls & hawks. You can also enjoy camping, plenty of hiking trails & even cross-country skiing during the colder months. My best friends had their wedding ceremony in the garden last summer...a lot of great options for pictures from a stone arch wall, the gazebo to the beautiful flowers themselves. Visited Burning River with my kids to go kayaking down the Cuyahoga River. Upon arrival, they were…read moreonly offering one of the three trips, which was the 2.5 hour excursion. We were short on time, but we did it anyway. We decided to paddle the entire time to speed it up. The driver who took us up stream was friendly and he chatted with us during the drive. Then he put our kayaks in the water and helped us board them. After paddling the entire time, it took us less than 1.5 hours to complete the trip. My daughter was happy because she had plans that evening. The river was scenic, there weren't a lot of people on it, and I'd definitely do this again. There were some shallow areas in the river where my kayak touched the bottom, but I was able to paddle out of it. Good times!
