I attend the hot Pilates. You do have to bring your own mat. Bring a small towel because you will definitely sweat, grip socks and a bottle of water.. the studio is very clean. They have cubbies to put all your personal belongings while you're in the class.. the bathrooms are stocked with basic necessities like deodorant, some hair ties, etc. plus they do offer like mints lol it's just a cute added touch to their brand. If you do forget your mat, they do have one that you can borrow, but they are limited. Raquel is an amazing instructor. She is consistently cheering you on. Her classes is tough but you want it to be tough otherwise what's the point of going and not getting a workout? Honestly, I'm not sure if there's really an easy Pilates class lol. I am currently taking this class with my ClassPass so it leaves me open to be able to explore workout programs that work best for me. I am appreciative that the studio is on ClassPass. Otherwise I probably would have never attempted to try their classes. I highly recommend checking them out. The hot Pilates is my favorite.

It is a very nice and clean studio and the classes are small, usually around 5 or 6 people and no more than 8. The utilize both the tower and the mat. With the classes being small, the instructors can watch and make sure that you are doing all of the moves correctly. Although you are paying more than you would at a gym, it is completely worth it as the quality of instruction is that much better. You get a better deal if you buy the classes in packages. They have classes ranging from beginner to advanced at all times of the day. They also offer private, duet, and trio classes in which you can utilize the reformers. You can conveniently sign-up and pay for classes online. Pilates is a great way to increase core strength and flexibility. It is also a great way to switch up your routine from weights and cardio. I would definitely recommend the Pilates Loft to anyone who wants to give pilates a try :)

The Bar Method is the first and (so far) only place that has motivated me enough to stay consistent with a workout routine. Before choosing The Bar Method, my workout buddy and I had tried other Barre/Pilates places. From the size of the classes and amazing instructors I truly found a workout routine that not only motivates me but is starting to make me feel confident in my body! I love that the classes are never too big so even though it's a group workout you still get personal attention when you need assistance and guidance. The music varies in a good way. The only thing I wish is that my location had more options in class variety outside of level 1 and 2. I started at Pure Barre in December. There were a few discrepancies but nothing that couldn't be…read moreovercome with patience. Like hearing the instructor over the music, understanding how to transition into certain moves, and of course not know that Black Barre Challenge can only be completed if you completed it every month of the whole year. To start with they have something called a "Foundations" class. The goal is teach you the basics done throughout a "Classic" Barre class. Im assuming also that you should have an idea of their infamous position "the tuck" somewhat down by the time you leave. There is a tour and you should leave with a basic understanding of Pure Barre is about. At this class they should probably go over in depth the "Black Barre Challenge". I didn't know about this until I was two months into the studio. I left the class thinking that was simple but I knew they advertised as a gym that is "high intensity, with low impact". Low impact was essential since I am still healing from a spinal injury. Here lies the issue there are tons of bending and twisting motions that have to completed during classes. Which consist of: Classic: Basic Total Body Workout Empower: All about the Cardio Reform: All the Resistance Feels I was getting discouraged because I wasn't feeling a lot of the moves at the bar because I couldn't bend far. Therefore I was happy after talking to my Orthopedic surgeon about the difficulties I was facing. He explained its because I haven't been rehabilitated fully yet. After physical therapy I will be ready to go and could start rebuilding my core with Barre! Happy to hear the news because I specifically went on a monthly membership which I was told I "COULD CANCEL AT ANYTIME". BTW when you sign the documentation it's all on their computer so DO NOT take the representatives word on explaining how the membership works. It's a 31 day process. You will be out of a months dues. To give you an idea if their membership is 169.00. When I first called to email their emails came back with delivery issues and now than there is just a game of phone tag back and forth. Today the pulled for the FULL amount of dues after playing phone tag back and forth the past three weeks. In all honesty I'm just so disappointed with this studio. I would've returned after six weeks of PT had they just cared about their customers enough to call or email us back.
