Wanted to like this place, even after giving them multiple chances and more patience than deserved. Didn't want to go to a big shop like Caliber, etc, but wish I would have! High level feedback: Customer service is beyond poor. Breakdown in communication and relay of information. Zero value in customers. Quality assurance: poor. The vehicle we received never should have even been released for pickup. Confidence: frustrating lack of confidence the job is getting done and done correctly. Parts: it was clear that the end result and appearance of the parts they changed out was not a high-level of importance. Truly, their lack of attention to detail and customers makes me believe they are a churn and burn company looking for quantity over quality. I made an appointment for Saturday morning. showed up and they said we don't do estimates for hail damage on Saturdays as the hail people are not there on Saturdays. the lady that made the appointment should know what's going but I guess she doesn't care or doesn't know anything. very poor customer service. read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I went to get an estimate on damage to my vehicle. I was told they WOULD NOT give me an estimate since I was a Farmer's insurance customer. I needed to make an appointment(earliest over 2 weeks out). During next 2 weeks they continue to send me "links" to give them power of attorney, and authorize ALL repairs. ( This basically takes me totally out of the equation and makes the entire matter between them and the insurance company.) I informed them via text that I would not sign without an estimate. Today I show up for my appointment. Gary, the adjuster assigned to Farmer's claims, tells me it's against the law for him to give me an estimate without me signing All of the releases. BULLSHIT!! I will authorize any thing needed to give me an ESTIMATE on repairs. I ask "How do you authorize something, if you don't even know what needs to be done and what parts are needed to do it?". He told me if I don't sign the releases authorizing ALL repairs, then I just need to find another body shop!! Wow!! What a racket!!! No wonder they get the insurance business..."we'll do whatever we want and get paid directly.". Are there any honest body shops out there? Just give an honest estimate, I authorize those repairs, and you fo the work? This place is definitely NOT!!! read more

This place is awesome! They were able to squeeze me in for a quote the same day my car was damaged. Gary was my go-to guy and made sure everything went smoothly with my repair. He worked so efficiently with my insurance company, and managed to have my car completed several days before we anticipated it being ready. They sent me daily updates and were incredibly accommodating when it came to storing my car while I was out of town. When I came back, they even arranged us so that my car was delivered directly to my house. This was my first accident, and I'm so thankful I went with Gary and The Body shop for my repairs. What could have been a very stressful situation was made seamless and stress-free. My car looks great and it is apparent that they do quality work. We were very pleased with the the service we received on our Honda HRV. My wife is very picky with her "baby", but the repairs make by The Body Shop had it looking like new. Gary was exceptionally proficient and patient. He really knows his stuff. He explained everything in detail both when we dropped the car off and when we picked it up. You never hope to never have to go to a body shop, but Gary and The Body Shop helped make the process go very well. As an aside, their Covid precautions are spot-on. I had my transmission replaced they provide a lifetime warranty not sure if that's their thing or because of my insurance, due to Covid I had been working from home barely driving my car, a few months later in the shop for an unrelated issue and I am told I am leaking transmission fluid because no seal was placed with my repair back to The Body Shop the repaired it but again charged my insurance company the very next day my check engine light came on I called Rob he said to take it to Auto Zone to get the code, did that the O2 sensor was the issue, called Rob again he said bring it on in the technicians probably didn't get the sensor pushed in all the way. I bring it back no no need to call your insurance company to see if it's related to your claim, no it's due to your negligent repair. To Nissan I go and have to pay $160 to diagnose to be told the O2 sensor was unplugged. I would not recommend them unless you want to make multiple calls & trips to them and if you want your insurance to pay for their poor repairs........ read more

I've used the shop for 15 years, sometimes insurance, sometimes out of pocket. The old crew that I knew seems gone. And the company acts like they are too big to care about anyone but the insurance company. So they wont take my car because it would mean that the insurance company would have to pay for a few more days of rental as if that is my problem. They want to keep their favored status, while I'm stuck in a car that can't drive at highway speeds. They are friendly enough. But I can get into a doctor's office faster than I can get a car into the shop. I'm having to schedule a week out just to drop off because they tell me that the can only take so many cars per day. Except you don't get an appointment time. So that doesn't make sense because most people will drop off in the morning or after work, crowding them regardless. Even the insurance company that agreed to send me there, did not understand this wacky system. Frankly they are not the only game in town by far. And I guess its time to find someone else that remembers what customer service used to look like. read more

There was a LOT of work needed for my poor Rogue. Both the ladies at the front desk and Joel who was overseeing the work made sure I was informed of the status of the repairs throughout the whole process. When I picked up my car, the first thing out of Joel's mouth was, "First, can I ask if you were okay after the accident?!". You could tell that he took pride in his job and was proud of the work they accomplished. I have had 2 separate vehicles worked on by the Mckinney location. The first occasion went exceptionally well, not so on the second. Lost a great deal of faith in this business after the "repair". It forced me to be super vigilant in anything where an insurance company and the repair facility begin dictating what constitutes my responsibility. Force them to communicate with one another and do not accept anything less than what you were told would happen at the beginning of the process. Eye opening experience. I cannot say enough good things about my experience here. I called my insurance company (Geico) and they set up an appointment at The Body Shop. Upon my arrival, there was a Geico representative on site to walk me through everything, a rental car waiting, and an extremely pleasant staff. It could not have been easier. When my car was finished, I was once again greeted by very nice employees (including everyone who walked by), and everything was ready. When I was busy switching the car seats over, a few employees went out of their way to entertain my two toddlers. Then someone brought out water and candy for us all. The process was extremely easy and painless until Gary White was involved. 9am appointment and took other walk ins until 10. Then proceeded to tell me that everything I was told prior to the visit was wrong. I was misinformed apparently and my insurance adjuster apparently needed to be "retrained". He had zero intention of working with me or my family's car. He could care less what I was told by the same company he works for. His only interest was trying to be right in the matter. Very disheartening after not having a vehicle to transport my children in for the foreseeable future after waiting a week to be seen for my appointment. Contacted for hail repair estimate. Advised would be paying out of pocket because my insurance company already paid me. Woman who answered phone said "they don't do written estimates for hail unless it goes through the insurance company, and the insurance estimators don't know what they are doing and give about 1/2 what it actually is". I advised the woman that I have had hail damage repaired 2x, and that was NEVER the case. I said why not give an estimate and go from there? She refused. She said that it is the case for almost all of the 100s of cars they do. Interesting. I was referred to this body shop by someone, but was given pause by some of the other reviews. Absolutely one of the best experiences we've ever had. The work they did looks excellent but the customer service was outstanding! Really appreciated that they have a car rental place in the same location, made that process very easy. Joel was our service advisor and he kept me updated on what was happening with the repair and even took care of extending the car rental an additional day (I was expecting to have to do that myself as it seems nowadays everybody expects the customer to do all of the "go-between" legwork. They scheduled a day for me to drop off my truck for repairs. A few days later, they called me to reschedule the drop off for 10 days later than the initial drop off date they had scheduled. They estimated 11 days for the repairs. They have had my truck for a month and still can't tell me when I'll get my truck back. If you can live without your vehicle for a couple of months while the disorganized and unprofessional office staff continues to overpromise and underdeliver, then this is the place for you. If you are like me and need your vehicle repaired in a timely manner, stay away from the body shop. Finally got the truck back. The quality of the work was good. I had a bad experience with The Body Shop after my car was towed here after an accident. Apparently, this location had no security at night or on weekends. My car, damaged and undrivable, was placed in their lot on a Friday evening. I took all the loose belongings out of the vehicle as I knew it was a total loss. When I came back Monday to remove my aftermarket stereo, it was already gone. I had to file a second police report for the stolen stereo. Thankfully USAA amended the wreck claim to include a stereo (which they previously has marked as not present). The management provided no explanation or help regarding the theft while on their property. read more

Took my wife's grand Cherokee to the body shop for an estimate. She has hit the garage and caused some pretty decent dams he. Enough to bother me and my OCD. So we were going out of town for a week dropped it off before we had went and got a call the following Monday advising it had been done and was ready for pick up. We had went and picked it up. It was done great. I had drove my truck while my wife drove the Jeep. I hadn't gone inside the Jeep all day until the evening hours. They detailed the whole car. The outside was cleaned which was to be expected but they detailed the inside as well. That was not expected my service advisor Tye was great. Will definitely recommend. The place is huge--but every single person I came across made customer service key. The service was fast and performed without flaw. From making sure my car was clean and presentable when given back to me to the porter service they provided when I needed a ride from drop off and to pick up, you can tell these people care about you and your experience with them. 2008 Toyota Highlander so i am very loyal to Pat Lobb Toyota in McKinney and go there for all my service needs. I needed a custom part and they have Mike from TBS in the actual dealership. he was PHENOMENAL. i trust patt lobb but obviously the industry is know more for shady people than those you trust. Mike was phenomenal and told me what i needed to do to get the custom part for my toyota. i wish they were located next door but ill live. they are about 5 miles from the dealership. so mike gives me his card and even tells me who to ask for when i get there so i dont run around like a chicken with their head cut off. he also puts the price he quoted me which i thought was great. i head over and Billy Rhoades helps me start to end. I come back today to pick it up and couldn't have ended in a better experience. service was PHENOMENAL and the work was legit. i didn't have a great amount of work needed but i would personally say 80% of body shops can do the same thing but its the things like service and sense of urgency that make all the difference in the world. very clean vs a cluttered and messy body shop. can't say enough good things about the place and the interaction i had with two key members of their team. read more

Liam my 20 month old toddler) and I had a car evaluation appointment in which he fell asleep two minutes after we arrived. I had to carry him in , 32 pounds by the way. Jessica welcomed us in the shop and directed to our seat. She informed the adjuster of our arrival, he must have been super busy as he took awhile. Update to previous review. I downgraded to one star after having my car for awhile. On THE THIRD TRY to paint my car, it IS better than the FIRST TWO attempts, it is not right. The color does not match!!! Can't get around, it just sticks out due to the color. IN ADDITION, once I got it home, the hood would not close without a strong slam , never did that before. I started looking at it and discovered the entire front nose was not on properly!! The headlights were too high in their mounts causing the hood to hit the top of the headlights! Long story short, I worked on this car for three days and FINALLY the hood closes properly and the seams are even around the headlights. It is especially frustrating to me having these problems especially since I called the owner to let him know the first two repair and paint attempts did not work. One would think that the owner would ensure that the third repair would be done right. DO NOT PICK YOUR CAR UP ON A FRIDAY AFTERNOON! My perception is The Body Shop has just gotten too big to give the quality of service it's customers deserve. read more

I went to Pat Lobb Toyota in McKinney after someone backed in the front bumper of my car. I was told they don't do body work there, but I was given a business card for Michael Bates at The Body Shop and told that they recommend I go there. As I've always had positive experiences with Pat Lobb I didn't even question it. I'd already had my insurance company come out and write an estimate for the repairs, and was told to give the estimate to the repair shop I chose (Bad decision. I'll expand on this in a second). Upon entering The Body Shop I stood at the front counter for 5 minutes while the receptionist finished her casual conversation with another employee. Once she finally decided that she should do her job, she yelled across the room asking how she could help me. As it was early in the morning and was still waking up, I didn't feel like yelling back so I answered her in a normal voice saying that I needed work done on my car's bumper. She was so far away so she couldn't hear me, so instead of walking over to the front desk, she rudely cups her hand to her ear, acting like I was the strange one for not wanting to yell. Finally she came over to the desk and helped me. I was then told to wait on the couch for the Enterprise Rent-a-car person to help me. There was only 1 person on front of me, but it still took 30 minutes before I was seen. My insurance company had already contacted them and set-up a rental car for me, so it should have been a few signatures and I'm off, but again I was told I needed to wait because they didn't have any cars at that location and had called another location to bring some over. Finally I leave. 5 days go by and I haven't heard a word from anybody. I was given a business card for Corey Vrla and told he would contact me, but I never heard from him. I decide to call and see what's going on as it should have been a fairly simple repair of replacing the bumper on a Toyota that parts are readily available for. The receptionist that answered was rude from the very begining and said that it should only be a few more days and they would call me when it's ready. I then asked her how much the repairs were going to cost and she said told me the exact amount, down to the penny, that the estimate showed. Confused, I said that was the estimate amount and asked her if that was correct. She said. "Well it certainly won't be less than that." I was shocked at the sheer audacity of that statement. I responded that the very word estimate means an approximation, not exactly what it should cost. Then her attitude became even worse and said something to the effect of she wasn't sure what to tell me because that was the price. At that point I just wanted my car back and put this ordeal behind me. A few days later they said my car was ready and I could come pick it up. I went to get it, but they had a few more surprises for me still. First, my car smelled very strongly of oil or some chemical like that. At first I didn't think too much of it since I knew the mechanics had to be in my car to drive it/fix it, but the smell stayed for weeks. It was so bad that I had to park it outside with the windows cracked in the middle of winter to let it air out. Even doing it that it stayed for weeks. I'm convinced that they put something in my air vents or cabin air filter for it to have lasted that long. Secondly, I looked at my car and the invoice they gave me, and they did so many extra repairs that were unnecessary just to get the cost up to the EXACT amount of the estimate. The replaced my driver side headlight even though it was completely undamaged from the accident. I've never experienced a repair shop that so blatantly added extra charges like that. I will NEVER use The Body Shop for repairs again. read more
