Now that I am out, I can anonymously share what tenants are dealing with due to the new owners…read more Here are a few of the specific complaints from tenants who have been residents of these properties for 3 to nearly 20 years (identifying attributes removed or generalized for anonymity): These new owners are ATROCIOUS. WITHOUT NOTICE, the new owners now allow dogs which one tenant is extremely allergic to, causing them to go on medication due to the new pets in their building and the smell/hair/dander in the carpeted hallway. Another cannot cope with the incessant barking heard coming from the adjacent building. The grass and grounds where children had played are now covered in yellow stained spots from urine and feces of the animals (note: feces is being cleaned up but the damage to the grass is still happening). Dumpsters impede the full use of the driveway. THERE IS NO COMMUNICATION ABOUT WHAT THEY ARE DOING. The new owners are allowing new and disrespectful tenants who scream at all hours of the day and night and slam doors to where the entire building and those on the street can hear - they seem to take anyone now. Non-residents/workers are leaving doors unlocked and propped open after they depart. One tenant pays for a parking spot but someone else is regularly in it, assumed to be a hired worker. They never told one tenant about the construction and they work from home and were unable to run a very important meeting for work due to the non-stop drilling noise. Attempts have been made, without notice, to enter a unit while a minor child was home alone. One tenant is extremely sensitive to pesticide and would vacate for a couple days when the previous owner notified them of a treatment. NO NOTICE was given when the new owners treated, causing this tenant to pass out in their kitchen in front of their small child who didn't know what to do. Poison control was called and the treating company refused to provide the type of chemical used that day without authorization from the building owner. NO ADVANCE NOTICE is being given of construction and apartment entry, causing numerous tenants to experience unknown contractor knocks and entry into units last minute. Notices are no longer posted in the buildings in advance or at each tenant's door. The new owners said there would be drop boxes installed to submit rent - that never happened. An email notice was sent to one tenant the day after the email said they would be entering the tenant's unit - which required the tenant to execute several tasks they were unable to do and it was during the holidays. Non-residents are now entering the buildings and "snooping" through different areas that were previously secured and are now being left open - damage to the property has occurred. The "upgrades" may look nice at first but they are really cheap and remove any historical charm the units previously had. The "improvements" are done so poorly and are cheap and nothing matches, the new paint is already peeling off and you can see through the paint because it needed primer or another coat. There is a new tenant who must have serious mental health issues and there is a concern for children because they are making "demonic dolls" and "shrines" and putting stacks of full beer cans in odd locations in their walkways. Hopefully these owners can take this as constructive criticism to improve their communication and screening process since the tenants don't feel comfortable speaking up about their individual experiences outside of hallway and sidewalk conversations.

I really wouldn't recommend living here, the walls are thin and you can just hear the constant loudness and disrespect of children... because the landlord doesn't care! As long as they have money, the one above me told me her dog is addicted to meth, and so is her mother who I gave a ride away from this place. RENTER BEWARE!!! A close second is the staff here..... they are every friendly and quick to treat you like family! ...... Always quick to make repairs and solve any upstairs neighbor noise issues. Along with the beautiful pool, parking garage that is almost done being remodeled, ups fedx usps package drop off and pick up, and a security guard at the gate at night. Makes this place an amazing temporary home for my wife and I. Unfortunately, we have had many water leaks from the ceiling and the recessed lights. After yesterday's storm the "fixes" that the maintenance crew used previously have failed and the ceiling has caved. The water is now spreading in the ceiling to multiple rooms of the penthouse causing massive leaks and water build up. This is now impacting apartments below us. The maintenance crew has been unresponsive for mitigation actions. They will not cover any of the furniture or tarp the failing roof areas to mitigate further damages, after multiple requests. They have also used our beautiful china and our trash cans to catch water from the leaks. Finally, no one will speak with us about the remediation plan.

Leah was kind enough to send us pics & video and was extremely detailed in all the info she provided. Leah was always available to answer any questions & was so patient as I asked all the "mom stuff!" The building is so beautiful with historic charm & character! It's clean, has several amenities, and 24 hour concierge (Darius is top notch!). The covered parking garage is a plus & the building is secure. We also appreciate that all residents undergo background checks. The location is close to several attractions with many places within walking distance. Management has always been on top of their game, focusing on the needs of the tenants who reside within. Jill, Jesse, and Audrianna are beautiful ladies and work as a great team in the office. The security in the building is probably the best you will be able to find downtown. Incidents are handled in a timely manner by the doormen and, if criminal, handled by the courtesy police officers. I do not have anything negative to say about this complex and their staff. The gym could be updated, but that is actually being done now! You will not be disappointed residing here. I made contact with their on call emergency number & staff. After experiencing 2 days of these poor conditions and safety issues the response from the management was poor. The maintenance man who took my call about the emergency issues had his wife attack me verbally in the lobby. She was extremely verbally abusive and threatened me over 8 times. Once I announced I am NOT going to fight with you. I'm a adult who is peaceful I dont believe in war or fighting. She really throws a temper tantrum at this point. Yelling cursing and a full show. The disrespect was extreme. She was over eager to show how distasteful and ignorant she could be. After speaking with other managers about the abuse that her employees felt its ok to personally attack me with. The management proudly announced it's ok that she stretched the truth and attacked my family. Because she is a wife who is concerned about the mental health and well being of her husband. I in return told her if wives have a say then pick a time so my wife can speak with you. Her quick responce was well your wife is NOT on the lease and has apsoloutly no say in this conversation. Another manager removed her shoes & ear rings and called the police because she did not want my family in the building she could he heard yelling for blocks what do you mean you have a wife. My brother was on the way to visit me I simply told him I'm in the leasing office pull up to the black fountain. The manager said that pull up in Saint Louis means you want to fight. I simply announced My family will be moving out I'm not dealing with this foolishness. I over heard two employees say her brother is her sister hes wearing a dress & makeup. Girl all the men in that car have on dresses & makeup. They need to go they need to move. Once the police arrived I spoke with them. I requested that they walk my family to the elevator because it became clear that LGBTQ Americans are not respected nor are we safe at this location. I hired a maid & began the move out process. And the manager Britney decided to come to my unit daily and post notes on my door that she would like me to move out. I moved out 3 days later. I've never dealt with people who stretched the truth like these people. When they spoke to the police they forgot that all this started because the lights, internet, refrigerator, cable was NOT working and All I did was contact the leasing office because the water smelled like rotten eggs. On the voicemail was a emergency number that I contacted. Brittany had the gol to ask me. Why would u ever call the emergency number? My reply is and was. Because noone from your office would get back to me. Its your emergency number why put it on a voicemail if your not equipped to deal with such emergencies. Each time you give them a logical answer to a problem your met with a empty headed response that's anything but professional and productive.

They are very up front with you when touring on things that might be perceived as negative but the positives definitely outweigh the negatives. Free laundry, free pool during seasonal hours, amazing view, and a maintenance staff that goes out of their way to make sure requests are taken care of quickly. (1-3 days depending on urgency). Utilities are also included except for electricity (Ameren). The best part of Mansion House is the community of people. Everyone is welcoming of new residents and the apartment hosts monthly events (usually free or a very nominal fee) to allow residents the opportunity to meet each other. I definitely want to say thank you to everyone in the front office for their hard work and their dedication to not only myself but other residents. After my previous apartment experience in Chicago, I needed a place to move that I could call home. I could have moved to any city in the country basically and I am not a huge fan of St. Louis however I moved here because I found a place where I could finally enjoying living in an apartment. Mansion House has definitely made my St. Louis experience a pleasurable one.
